Book excerpt: The authors present results for the branching fractions and charge asymmetries in B[sup[+-]][yields] h[sup[+-]][pi][sup 0] (where h[sup[+-]]=[pi][sup[+-]], K[sup[+-]]) and a search for the decay B[sup 0][yields][pi][sup 0][pi][sup 0] using a sample of approximately 88 million B[bar B] pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factor at SLAC. They measure[Beta](B[sup[+-]][yields][pi][sup[+-]][pi][sup 0])= (5.5[sub -0.9][sup+1.0][+-] 0.6) x 10[sup -6], where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The B[sup[+-]][yields][pi][sup[+-]][pi][sup 0] signal has a significance of 7.7[sigma] including systematic uncertainties. The authors simultaneously measure the K[sup[+-]][pi][sup 0] branching fraction to be[Beta](B[sup[+-]][yields] K[sup[+-]][pi][sup 0])= (12.8[sub -1.1][sup+1.2][+-] 1.0) x 10[sup -6]. The charge asymmetries are[Alpha][sub[pi][sup[+-]][pi][sup 0]]= -0.03[sub -0.17][sup+0.18][+-] 0.02 and[Alpha][sub[Kappa][sup[+-]][pi][sup 0]]= -0.09[+-] 0.09[+-] 0.01. The authors place a 90% confidence-level upper limit on the branching fraction[Beta](B[sup 0][yields][pi][sup 0][pi][sup 0]) of 3.6 x 10[sup -6].

They find no statistically significant evidence for the non-resonant component of this decay. Book excerpt: The authors observed a new neutral kaon decay mode, K{sub L} {yields} {pi}{sup {+-}}e{sup {-+}}{bar {nu}}e{sup +}e{sup -} for the first time. Based on the 20225 events including 1018 {+-} 25 background events, they determined the branching ratio, B(K{sub L} {yields} {pi}{sup {+-}}e{sup {-+}}{bar {nu}}e{sup +}e{sup -}; M{sub e{sup +}e{sup -}}> 5 MeV/c{sup 2}, E*{sub e{sup +}e{sup -}}> 30 MeV) = (1.281 {+-} 0.041) x 10{sup -5}. This branching ratio agrees with a theoretical prediction based on the chiral perturbation theory ({chi}PT) calculation at {Omicron}(p{sup 4}). Most of the kinematical distributions agree with the {chi}PT {Omicron}(p{sup 4}) calculation. They also measured one of the low energy coupling constants for the {chi}PT {Omicron}(p{sup 4}), L{sub 9}{sup r} = (8.0 {+-} 1.6) x 10{sup -3}. The M{sub e{sup +}e{sup -}} distribution below 100 MeV showed a 3 {sigma} deviation from the {chi}PT {Omicron}(p{sup 4}) calculation. This requires further studies in theory and experiments.

They search for the h[sub c] narrow state in the decay B[sup -] [yields] h[sub c] K[sup -], h[sub c] [yields] J/[psi][pi][sup +][pi][sup -] and for the decay B[sup -] [yields] J/[psi]D[sup 0][pi][sup -], with D[sup 0] [yields] K[sup -][pi][sup +]. They set the 90% C.L. limits [Beta](B[sup -] [yields] h[sub c]K[sup -]) x [Beta](h[sub c] [yields] J/[psi][pi][sup +][pi][sup -])
