One of the tau leptons is identified via its decay into an electron or muon and the other via its decay into a hadronic final state. The data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of around 1.0 fb-1, were collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider between April 2002 and February 2006. No significant excess of events above the background expectation is observed and limits on the cross section times branching ratio for neutral Higgs bosons decaying into tau pairs, p$\bar{p}$ → [Phi] → [tau]+[tau]-, are set. The cross section limits are interpreted as exclusions in the parameter space of the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model, resulting in exclusions in the range 40

Since no excess compared to the expectation from standard model processes is found, limits on the production cross section times branching ratio are set. The results are combined with those obtained from the D0 search for ?b({bar b}) → b{bar b}b({bar b}) and are interpreted in the minimal supersymmetric standard model.

Book excerpt: We report results from a search for neutral Higgs bosons produced in association with b quarks using data recorded by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.3 fb−1. This production mode can be enhanced in several extensions of the standard model (SM) such as in its minimal supersymmetric extension (MSSM) at high tan [beta]. We search for Higgs bosons decaying to tau pairs with one tau decaying to a muon and neutrinos and the other to hadrons. The data are found to be consistent with SM expectations, and we set upper limits on the cross section times branching ratio in the Higgs boson mass range from 90 to 320 GeV/c2. We interpret our result in the MSSM parameter space, excluding tan [beta] values down to 25 for Higgs boson masses below 170 GeV/c2.

Book excerpt: A search for the decay to a pair of new particles of either the 125 GeV Higgs boson (h) or a second charge parity (CP)-even Higgs boson (H) is presented. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb-1 of pp collisions at [arrow]" = 8 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in 2012. The search was done in the context of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model, in which the new particles are the lightest neutral pseudoscalar Higgs bosons (a). One of the two a bosons is required to decay to two muons while the other is required to decay to two [tau] leptons. No significant excess is observed above the expected backgrounds in the dimuon invariant mass range from 3.7 to 50 GeV. The upper limits are placed on the production of h 2!aa relative to the standard model gg 2!h production, assuming no coupling of the a boson to quarks. The most stringent limit is placed at 3.5% for ma = 3.75 GeV. Upper limits are also placed on the production cross section of H 2!aa from 2.33 to 0.72 pb, for fixed ma = 5 GeV with mH ranging from 100 to 500 GeV.

The search is sensitive to four production mechanisms of the Higgs boson: ggH, WH, ZH and VBF. Modes where one tau decay leptonically, and another decay, hadronically, are considered. Two novel techniques are developed and used in the search. A Probabilistic Particle Flow Algorithm is used for energy measurements of the hadronic tau candidates. The signal is discriminated from backgrounds by the Missing Mass Calculator, which allows for full invariant mass reconstruction of $\tau\tau$ pair. The data are found to be consistent with the background only hypothesis. Therefore a 95\% confidence level upper limit on the Standard Model Higgs boson cross section was set. At $M_H$$=$120~GeV/$c^2$ observed limit is 14.9$\times\sigma_{SM}\times Br(\Htt)$.

We analyzed the data so that it corresponded to an integrated luminosity of 17.9 fb-1. No evidence for a signal is observed. Upper limits at a 95% confidence level on the production cross section for such a resonance, in the mass range from 270 to 1100 GeV, are reported. A radion with decay constant of 1 TeV and mass from 300 to 1100 GeV, and a Kaluza-Klein graviton with mass from 380 to 830 GeV are excluded at a 95% confidence level.
