Book System Reliability and Security

Download or read book System Reliability and Security written by Javaid Iqbal and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-12-07 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Because of the growing reliance on software, concerns are growing as to how reliable a system is before it is commissioned for use, how high the level of reliability is in the system, and how many vulnerabilities exist in the system before its operationalization. Equally pressing issues include how to secure the system from internal and external security threats that may exist in the face of resident vulnerabilities. These two problems are considered increasingly important because they necessitate the development of tools and techniques capable of analyzing dependability and security aspects of a system. These concerns become more pronounced in the cases of safety-critical and mission-critical systems. System Reliability and Security: Techniques and Methodologies focuses on the use of soft computing techniques and analytical techniques in the modeling and analysis of dependable and secure systems. It examines systems and applications having complex distributed or networked architectures in such fields as: Nuclear energy Ground transportation systems Air traffic control Healthcare and medicine Communications System reliability engineering is a multidisciplinary field that uses computational methods for estimating or predicting the reliability aspects of a system and analyzing failure data obtained from real-world projects. System security is a related field that ensures that even a reliable system is secure against accidental or deliberate intrusions and is free of vulnerabilities. This book covers tools and techniques, cutting-edge research topics, and methodologies in the areas of system reliability and security. It examines prediction models and methods as well as how to secure a system as it is being developed.

Book Agile Software Development

Download or read book Agile Software Development written by Susheela Hooda and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-03-14 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: AGILE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT A unique title that introduces the whole range of agile software development processes from the fundamental concepts to the highest levels of applications such as requirement analysis, software testing, quality assurance, and risk management. Agile Software Development (ASD) has become a popular technology because its methods apply to any programming paradigm. It is important in the software development process because it emphasizes incremental delivery, team collaboration, continuous planning, and learning over delivering everything at once near the end. Agile has gained popularity as a result of its use of various frameworks, methods, and techniques to improve software quality. Scrum is a major agile framework that has been widely adopted by the software development community. Metaheuristic techniques have been used in the agile software development process to improve software quality and reliability. These techniques not only improve quality and reliability but also test cases, resulting in cost-effective and time-effective software. However, many significant research challenges must be addressed to put such ASD capabilities into practice. With the use of diverse techniques, guiding principles, artificial intelligence, soft computing, and machine learning, this book seeks to study theoretical and technological research findings on all facets of ASD. Also, it sheds light on the latest trends, challenges, and applications in the area of ASD. This book explores the theoretical as well as the technical research outcomes on all the aspects of Agile Software Development by using various methods, principles, artificial intelligence, soft computing, and machine learning. Audience The book is designed for computer scientists and software engineers both in research and industry. Graduate and postgraduate students will find the book accessible as well.

Book Building Transformation Networks for Consistent Evolution of Interrelated Models

Download or read book Building Transformation Networks for Consistent Evolution of Interrelated Models written by Klare, Heiko and published by KIT Scientific Publishing. This book was released on 2022-03-24 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complex software systems are described with multiple artifacts, such as code, design diagrams and others. Ensuring their consistency is crucial and can be automated with transformations for pairs of artifacts. We investigate how developers can combine independently developed and reusable transformations to networks that preserve consistency between more than two artifacts. We identify synchronization, compatibility and orchestration as central challenges, and we develop approaches to solve them.
