Book Saving Jeslyn The Rescue Ranch 1

Download or read book Saving Jeslyn The Rescue Ranch 1 written by Becca Van and published by Siren-BookStrand. This book was released on with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: [Siren Menage Everlasting: Erotic Romance, Romantic Suspense, Reverse Harem, Contemporary, Cowboys, Western, Soldiers, Mild Paranormal Elements, MFMM, HEA] Jeslyn Brown is a psychic and hates being touched. Dealing with psychometry isn’t conducive to getting close to anyone physically or emotionally. After a hellish childhood growing up in the system, keeping her distance from people so they didn’t touch her, she was labelled a freak. Dealing with psychometry, a psychic gift or curse, and coping with visions from touch didn’t make for a happy or comfortable childhood. When Storm, Nelson and Bastian Davis, owners of Rescue Ranch, find Jes in her car and realize she’s sick, they take her back to their ranch to take care of her. The men slowly gain her trust and she finally tells them about herself, but instead of getting skepticism from them, they believe her. Jes finally tells the brothers that she’s being hunted by a serial killer and they vow to protect her and keep her safe. But sometimes plans and promises aren’t enough and can’t be kept. Becca Van is a Siren-exclusive author.

Book excerpt: Formerly one of Africa s most promising economies, Zimbabwe has begun a process of economic reconstruction after decades of political turmoil and economic mismanagement. The advent of a national unity government in February 2009 launched a new but still tentative era of political stability. The government has a daunting political and economic agenda. Top priorities include restoring the rule of law, demonstrating fiscal responsibility, and putting in place macroeconomic and structural reforms to win the confidence of domestic and international investors. An optimistic time frame for its socio-economic recovery is now estimated to be at least ten years. Zimbabwe: Picking Up the Pieces chronicles the steps that led to the downturn of the Zimbabwean state and economy before assessing what can be done to resuscitate a once-thriving society. Leading experts from and on the region explore the country s options on key governance issues, from strengthening institutions to addressing food security to promoting private sector development to mobilizing donor country assistance. This collection offers a unique glimpse into a fragile state and the severe costs Zimbabweans have and will have to endure if there is to be any hope of recovery.

Book The Reform d Coquet Familiar Letters Betwixt a Gentleman and a Lady and The Accomplish d Rake

Download or read book The Reform d Coquet Familiar Letters Betwixt a Gentleman and a Lady and The Accomplish d Rake written by Mary Davys and published by University Press of Kentucky. This book was released on 2014-07-11 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Reform'd Coquette (1724) tells the story of Amoranda, a good but flighty young woman whose tendency toward careless behavior is finally tamed. Familiar Letters Betwixt a Gentleman and a Lady (1725), a satire of both political debate and women's place in society, portrays a Tory man and a Whig woman who find themselves discussing love, even though they have pledged to remain platonic friends. The Accomplish'd Rake (1727) follows the exploits of Sir John Galliard from youth to manhood, when he is forced to accept responsibility for his actions. Mary Davys (1674?-1732) was one of the earliest female novelists in Britain, and after the death of her husband she supported herself by writing and running a coffeehouse. Her writing sparkles, especially in its witty dialogue. Although these three short epistolary novels are framed in a clear moral universe in which virtue is rewarded and transgressions is punished, her works are not overtly religious and punishment is as likely to come from society as from providence.

Book excerpt: Today's hunting debate began in the eighteenth century, when the idea of the countryside was being invented through the imaginative displacement of agricultural production in favour of country sports and landscape tourism.
