Finding Peace, One Piece at a Time helps to capture and share these stories by providing tools for how to thin, repurpose, and redistribute these possessions so they continue to be with us today and for future generations. In the digital era, personal possessions include not only physical objects but also the accumulated data of a lifetime. These physical and digital footprints combine into an extension of ourselves and what we signify. Finding a new home for these items helps maintain a connection to those who are no longer physically with us. Their possessions embody memories that should be saved, shared, and treasured in the hands of those who want to forever be connected.
Download or read book A New Creation in Christ written by T. Michael Christ and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2024-08-08 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is the most important book on sanctification? For John Murray, it was Walter Marshal’s The Gospel Mystery of Sanctification. William Cowper praised Marshall: “I think Marshall one of the best and most spiritual expositors of Scripture.” The Marrow men also commended Marshall. Even Andrew Murray believed Gospel Mystery to be “the one book . . . admitted by all to be the standard on sanctification.” Marshall’s enduring value is well established, yet scarcely any resources explain Marshall’s theology. T. Michael Christ’s A New Creation in Christ fills this void by exploring Marshall’s theology in the context of the antinomian and neonomian controversies of Marshall’s day. At a time when interlocutors where pushing one another to further extremes, Marshall achieves balance because he grounds sanctification in the believer’s union with Christ and deploys two limiting concepts that discourage using one error to refute the other. He insists both that some measure of assurance of salvation must precede actual works of holiness (refuting neonomianims) and that holiness is a necessary part of salvation (countering antinomianism). A New Creation in Christ explores how these limiting concepts translate into practical help for those who, as Marshall says, pursue holiness “under the guilt and power of indwelling sin.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Live Better, Spend Less, and Save More - Spending and Saving: How to Get Credit and Your Money to Work for You is about what works for real people in the real world. Too much of the financial advice available today is simply not workable for most people in the real world. I have included in this book what I have found works for people, and left out what I have found does not work for people. For example, you will not see a budget in this book. A budget is one of the most common items of financial advice. Use a budget you are told. The problem is most people cannot sustain the use of a budget for any length of time. In public speaking, I ask people how many of them use a budget. The number of people using a budget is small. Why? Because a budget is about limiting spending and most people do not like the limiting concept. Instead I have developed tools that are not based on limitation. My tools are focused on getting you what you want and less of what you do not want. -

Download or read book A History of the Japanese People From the Earliest Times to the End of the Meiji Era written by Frank & Kikuchi Brinkley and published by Library of Alexandria. This book was released on 1915-01-01 with total page 1932 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: IN the earliest eras of historic Japan there existed a hereditary corporation of raconteurs (Katari-be) who, from generation to generation, performed the function of reciting the exploits of the sovereigns and the deeds of heroes. They accompanied themselves on musical instruments, and naturally, as time went by, each set of raconteurs embellished the language of their predecessors, adding supernatural elements, and introducing details which belonged to the realm of romance rather than to that of ordinary history. These Katari-be would seem to have been the sole repository of their country's annals until the sixth century of the Christian era. Their repertories of recitation included records of the great families as well as of the sovereigns, and it is easy to conceive that the favour and patronage of these high personages were earned by ornamenting the traditions of their households and exalting their pedigrees. But when the art of writing was introduced towards the close of the fourth century, or at the beginning of the fifth, and it was seen that in China, then the centre of learning and civilization, the art had been applied to the compilation of a national history as well as of other volumes possessing great ethical value, the Japanese conceived the ambition of similarly utilizing their new attainment. For reasons which will be understood by and by, the application of the ideographic script to the language of Japan was a task of immense difficulty, and long years must have passed before the attainment of any degree of proficiency.

Download or read book Boeing 747 A History written by Martin W. Bowman and published by Pen and Sword. This book was released on 2014-06-10 with total page 589 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive history of the aircraft that transformed commercial aviation. Includes photos. A presence in our skies for over half a century, the iconic Boeing 747 has transported hundreds of thousands of passengers across the world. From its introduction with Pan American Airlines in 1970, it has persevered as one of the forerunners of commercial flight. Often labeled the “Queen of the Skies,” this is an aircraft revered by passengers and aircrew alike. The first wide-body airliner ever produced, it has set new standards in air travel and opened up the air routes of the world to vast numbers of people who might otherwise have been unable to afford international air travel. This book focuses not only on the 747, but also its many variants, including the YAL-1A, which Boeing developed for the US Air Force, and the Evergreen 747 Supertanker, a 747-200, modified as an aerial application for fire-fighting. Across its types, the 747 carries around half the world’s air freight. Accordingly, freight variants feature here too, including the 747-8.The sheer size of the workload carried out by this craft is astounding. From the glamorous 1970s, an era of rapid expansion that saw an unprecedented boom in the tourist trade, to the various environmental and economical imperatives that impact upon modern flight, this work shows how the Boeing 747 has been developed in accordance with the changing demands of the ages.
