They shockingly discover that one of the destitute girls is truly the French princess, hidden by her royal parents for her protection. While at a special dinner on her behalf, Countess Henrietta Maria is raided by a vagabond that begs for some food. The English prepared to beat and cast him away; however, she postulates that this destitute vagabond be given her food. Upon exiting the restaurant, a disguised Charles I vows to marry Henrietta. The French gave their long-lost princess, now both loved and hated, to become Queen Henrietta Maria of England. They venture through Buckingham Palace as Queen Maria shares and keep her sisterhood vows. The sisters must first develop their social skills and survive like Puritans, which forces the family to the colonies. The sisters vow to serve Lilith (Ann) as they endure hidden worlds, horror, slavery, beatings, and find a road that leads them through many escapades, causing them to leap through the horrors and blood of time, going deep in the earth and through the ages of time. Ann departs and meets Drusilla as they struggle as Roman slaves. She agonizes through starvation, rapes, beatings, yet wins her divine tribulations. She then leads her sisters back to her lost empire, yet surreptitiously things have altered.

Download or read book Will You Marry Me written by Parulraj Jain and published by Author's Ink Publications. This book was released on 2015-11-01 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Will You Marry Me? What is the most frightening eight letters word? If the question was asked to girls, nine out of ten would have said 'Cockroach'. Wait!!! But that's not an eight letters word. Okay, what is the most frightening word in English? Well, for girls it is probably Cockroach but, for boys, it is definitely Marriage, isn't it? Marriage, is it as scary as it sounds? India, the most versatile and weird (in many ways) country in the world, has many forms of marriage. We have our own ways of doing everything. In fact, we have many ways of doing the same thing across the country and marriage is no exception. Marriage is a serious thing here and it is more difficult to come out of this sacred bond than entering into one. THIS is the reason why everyone is so skeptical and afraid of this institution. The world is moving ahead but we are rather still or slow paced. We don't know if it's good or bad to not let ourselves evolve with time and move on, but Retro is a new cool, right? Read this hilarious romantic tale of how Adi's parents tricked him -their own son- to embark upon one of the oldest adventures called Marriage with a complete stranger, Nupur, for the rest of his life.

Download or read book The Crooked Mirror written by Laurence Senelick and published by Northwestern University Press. This book was released on 2023-08-15 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An anthology of plays from the Crooked Mirror, the leading Russian cabaret of the Silver Age “Don’t blame the mirror if your mug is crooked!” Parody dominated early twentieth-century Russian cabaret, but the Crooked Mirror extended its lampooning to theatrical practice itself. Eclectic in its targets, the Saint Petersburg theater mocked not only naturalism but also symbolism, futurism, and “Meyerholditis.” Its shows parodied both the stale conventions of melodrama and opera and the stylized trends in staging, wielding satire to provoke artistic and social reform. Though the theater was liquidated in 1931, many of its innovations would become standard techniques in cabaret repertoires and improv revues. As a cultural phenomenon of the Silver Age, the Crooked Mirror deserves critical attention, yet it has received only fleeting mention in histories of Russian theater and biographies of its major figures. This anthology fills a critical gap in our understanding of that heady era by bringing together key plays—most appearing in English here for the first time—together with short biographies of their authors and robust commentary and annotations. Laurence Senelick guides readers through the artistic and ideological evolution of the Crooked Mirror and provides performers with the material to bring its innovations back to the stage.
Download or read book Fat Boy written by Joseph Cobb and published by Joseph Cobb. This book was released on 2019-04-22 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ** 2020 Foreword INDIES Gold Award Winner ** The innocence of a child can sometimes be mistaken. Way out west, in the tumbling greens of England, something's going down... "Fat Boy" is a treacherously fictitious rhapsody, taking a tongue-in-cheek look at the best and the worst of humanity and treating it with the disrespect it deserves - love and hate, corruption and extortion, car chases, gunfights and high jinks, all set against the green and pleasant landscapes of the English countryside. It's a circus - a raucous ride into the unknown. "Fat Boy really was something else; refreshing, different and quintessentially British. I will certainly be following this author with some interest in the future." - Grant Leishman, Readers’ Favorite "The best thing about this book is the descriptions the author employs to create character and scene. It is so scrumptious that I found myself lost in its delicacy and sad when it had gone." - Nicole Howard, Writer's Digest
