Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As long as mankind has existed he has been plagued by two questions, Where did I come from? and Where am I going? Anthropologists, geologists, astronomers, and archaeologists have been searching for an answer to the first question and have produced a lot of evidence to show where mankind came from and how long mankind has existed on planet Earth. Theology students have applied their own thinking on both these questions and claim to know the answers. This book takes an individual view and reaches a definite and alarming conclusion. The author lived with his family through the Second World War and after the end of the war went to an agricultural college and then spent many years as a farm worker where he came to the conclusion that life was not as we have been led to believe by the establishment. In the agricultural college, he studied the work of Gregor Mendel and the subject of genetics in all living things, animal, and plants of all kinds and reached the conclusion that the creator of all life on earth is the sun, which is responsible through its various light forms, infrared, ultraviolet, and other forms of lights that are not visible to mankind but can be seen by some species of animal that humans look down on and think of as low life.

Book excerpt: Callie PattonI've lived a life that I wanted to get out of. One that I was emotionally and, sometimes, physically abused by the people that were supposed to love me unconditionally. The one person in the world that meant anything to me is taken way to soon. In her absence, I'm left with the opportunity to be free and do as I want for the first time in my life. Can I truly be the girl that chases her dreams and learns to make my life what I want it to be? Or will people continuously try to take it all away from me?Damon 'Bear' JonesThe only thing I want is to live a simple live and do what I want. One girl completely destroys that notion from the second I lay eyes on her. I've heard about this girl, Callie, for so long that I was beginning to think she didn't truly exist. Now that I've seen her and witnessed the innocence and freedom she's truly experiencing for the first time; can I be the one to try to make her settle down with one person? Will outside threats tear us apart before anything gets started?** Warning ** There are scenes with possible triggers in this story. There's a few torture scenes and the mention of rape. Book The Imperfect Friend

Download or read book The Imperfect Friend written by Wendy Olmsted and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2008-01-01 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many writers in early modern England drew on the rhetorical tradition to explore affective experience. In The Imperfect Friend, Wendy Olmsted examines a broad range of Renaissance and Reformation sources, all of which aim to cultivate 'emotional intelligence' through rhetorical means, with a view to understanding how emotion functions in these texts. In the works of Sir Philip Sidney (1554-1586), John Milton (1608-1674), and many others, characters are depicted conversing with one another about their emotions. While counselors appeal to objective reasons for feeling a certain way, their efforts to shape emotion often encounter resistance. This volume demonstrates how, in Renaissance and Reformation literature, failures of persuasion arise from conflicts among competing rhetorical frameworks among characters. Multiple frameworks, Olmsted argues, produce tensions and, consequently, an interiorized conflicted self. By situating emotional discourse within distinct historical and socio-cultural perspectives, The Imperfect Friend sheds new light on how the writings of Sidney, Milton, and others grappled with problems of personal identity. From their innovations, the study concludes, friendship emerges as a favourite site of counseling the afflicted and perturbed.

Book I Thought I Was Doing Well Until

Download or read book I Thought I Was Doing Well Until written by Miah Williams and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2021-04-12 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I gave the book the title “I thought I was doing well, until...” because, from the age of five years old, that was how I felt until I faced the reality that I was living a lie. My story started on April 28, 1996, when unexpectedly and supernaturally, Jesus appeared to me and touched me! When Jesus said: “Follow me,” I followed Him without any hesitation and converted from Islam to Christianity. The book is a synthesis of my journey of discovering the Trinity, the Godhead. You will walk with me through the steps which my studying of the Bible took me to know God as a Father, the divinity of Jesus as God and Man, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. There was never a dull moment in my journey during which I witnessed how God worked miracles in my life, how He showed me that there is a beauty in brokenness and how took me from a place of despair and hatred to hope and love. One of the significant outcomes of my studies is the shifting of my perspectives from seeing life from my own human finite microscopic lenses to GOD’s infinite telescopic lenses.

But they would have surely done it when I passed through their most devoted city, Baltimore, had I not defeated their plans by passing incognito a few hours before they expected me. We have the proof that the company which has been selected and organized to murder me was led by a rabid Roman Catholic, called Byrne; it was almost entirely composed of Roman Catholics; more than that, there were two disguised priests among them, to lead and encourage them. ..Abraham Lincoln And indeed the American Womens Feminist Movement were now linked and involved with the assassination of a sitting President of the United States and with a member of the American Womens Feminist Movement confirmed as guilty and hanged for the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. And then, so began the atrocities of the deaths of any elected president that was not a Socialist Democratic and those atrocities and Presidential genocide lasted from 1841 until the final assassination of President Warren Harding in 1923.

Book excerpt: Thirsty? Parched for fresh, flowing biblical insights that will revive your trial-weary heart and slake your thirst for more of Jesus? Water From the Rock, the final book in Greg Hinnant’s devotional trilogy, offers you spiritual water aplenty. Its 122 biblical devotional studies are intentionally crafted to provide more material than that offered by most devotionals in hopes of providing more inspiration and prompting further study. Ministers will find numerous sermons and teachings here and disciples much study material. These expository messages address many timely biblical subjects yet, like the Bible, their central theme is Christ—knowing Him, pleasing Him, and learning to walk closely with Him in the hot, spiritually dry wilderness of this increasingly secular, Christ-rejecting world. For that, we will need to rehydrate our souls regularly with lots of spiritual water. So, take long, thoughtful, prayerful drinks of this devotional’s Spirit-illuminated, biblical water, again and again. With the Holy Spirit’s blessing, it will help sustain and guide you through your wilderness trials to the Promised Land of Christian maturity! Book Review: As always, this book is blessing my socks off, to use an old expression. I am thoroughly enjoying working on it." -- Deborah Moss, Associate Editor, Charisma Media
