Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Find Your Way to Spiritual Freedom Do you find yourself struggling with a particular sin or dysfunction over and over again? Do you feel hopeless in finding freedom despite your best efforts? Do you still feel guilty, ashamed, and doomed to repeat a besetting sin, even after receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation? In Resisting the Devil, author Neal Lozano shows that sometimes evil spirits tell us lies that lock us into sins and personal problems. He explains the practice of deliverance, a way of dealing with such demonic influences that is supported by the teaching and tradition of the Catholic Church. Lozano's "Unbound" Model, based on three decades of experience in deliverance ministry, builds a bridge between the sacrament of Reconciliation and exorcism. People only very rarely need exorcism. Readers of Resisting the Devil: A Catholic Perspective on Deliverance will Learn how to recognize the activity of evil spirits See how deliverance from spiritual bondage can be gentle, safe, and effective Understand how deliverance differs from exorcism and how deliverance and Reconciliation can work together Read the testimonies of women and men who have been freed through deliverance ministry "Resisting the Devil is a thoughtful work that facilitates a balanced dialogue between deliverance ministry and the Church's rite of exorcism. I warmly recommend this book to anyone journeying with individuals variously afflicted by the Evil One." -- Rev. Jeffrey S. Grob, Associate Vicar for Canonical Services for the Archdiocese of Chicago

Book Reconciliation and Justification

Download or read book Reconciliation and Justification written by Kenan Osborne and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2001-11-28 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reconciliation and Justification offers a thorough historical and theological background on reconciliation and justification. It is an excellent textbook for theology, a good stimulus for discussion, and a significant contribution to all theological libraries. Since Vatican II the sacrament of reconciliation has met with both successes and difficulties. Author Kenan B. Osborne, O.F.M., contends that one of the main reasons for difficulty with the renewal of this sacrament is that it lacks the integration of justification theology. He outlines key issues on justification within the biblical theology of St. Paul and traces the historical, theological, and liturgical developments from the first century to the present. Thus, Fr. Osborne enriches our conception of reconciliation through these reflective christological and ecclesiological dimensions.

Book excerpt: We ended our long journey in Book One with a conclusion that Satan is the only enemy of God and man. He is responsible for our growing sinfulness that cause crises and wars from our family to the global levels. In all its attacks, this enemy uses man as its agents by tempting us in our hearts to offend God through our sins. Accordingly, we proceed in This Book Two to bring these Agents to the Global Court for trial in order to enhance the level of Global Peace in the world and our Spiritual Relationship with God. To undertake this Trial effectively, we must follow the Pillars that Christ established for us through His teaching and Commandments. On the secular level, Christ commanded that if our brother offends us we must first settle with him. If he refuses, we obtain witnesses and bring him before the court of witnesses for settlement and justice. On the spiritual level of restoring our relationship with God, Christ established the Pillar of the Sacrament of Penance through His Church to provide us the means of settling with God and obtain His forgiveness for our offence. These secular and spiritual pillars had sustained Our Good Relationship with God as well as Global Peace, Justice, Good Governance and Modern Civilization for over two thousand years since they were established through His Church. In this Book Two, we take up His Secular Pillar of seeking Settlement and Justice against our Brothers who had been causing global decline in peace through their cooperation with Satan. To this end , we brought them before a Fictional Global Trial Court GTC -- for settlement. We leave them to seek settlement with God through the Church as commanded by Christ . At the conclusion of their Trial, by the GTC, we proceeded in Book Three to implement the Court s Recommendations in a Fictional Secular Government of Odom. In Books Four and Five we survey in greater detail the ways our Enemy uses people at their various Professions and Government positions to tempt us to disobey God s Good Commandments that provide the Pillars of Justice, Peace and Progress in our Lives.

Book The Doctrine of Reconciliation

Download or read book The Doctrine of Reconciliation written by Arthur W. Pink and published by Sovereign Grace Publishers,. This book was released on 2006-05 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arthur W. Pink (1890-1953) launched his yearly publication, Studies in the Scriptures in 1921. These continued until his death, altogether 33 volumes of 288 pp. each. Most of Pink's books are taken from these yearly books (written monthly in 24 page format). This title is one of the many taken from eight of those monthly magazines. Readers will find thorough consideration of all the facets of this Biblical Doctrine of Reconciliation. Pink covers: Its Arrangement; Its Need, Its Effectuation; Its Meaning; Its Scope; and Its Reception. There are Scriptures galore cited. Undoubtedly the reader will grow rich in knowledge and in the grace of Christ. The pages are full, with probably 400 words to a page, so buyers will get their moneys worth. As an example of what a master workman like Pink does, note that he cites Romans 12:1, 2: [This verse] ''supplies an interpretation of the rites of the Law and of the reasonable part of the O. T. order of things. Thus, he who would make a covenant with God is required to give up himself wholly unto God with a sincere and firm resolution unto a new life of obedience to Him. If there is any reservation the covenant is marred in the making of it: ''Their heart was not right with Him, neither were they steadfast in His covenant'' (Ps. 78:37). Goodwin's Reconciliation by the Blood of Christ is a sermon he preached on Colossians 1:20, in which He describes the seeming impossibility of reconciling totally depraved men to a holy God. Who is sufficient for such a task? He proves that only Christ Jesus had the fitness to fill this role of perfect obedience to the Law, together with an acceptable sacrifice to propitiate the wrath of God toward men.

Book God s Being in Reconciliation

Download or read book God s Being in Reconciliation written by Adam J. Johnson and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2012-03-01 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most pressing issues in the doctrine of the atonement today is the question of the unity and diversity of the work of Christ. What are we to make of the diversity within the biblical witness and the history of doctrine when it comes to explanations of the meaning and significance of Jesus' death and resurrection? Without a grasp of the unity of his work, our understanding and use of the diversity runs the risk of becoming haphazard and disordered. Proposals regarding the unity of Christ's work today tend to focus on the metaphorical nature of language, the role of culture, and various possible conceptual schemes, rarely reflecting on unity and diversity proper to the being God. To fill this gap, Johnson draws on Karl Barth's integrated account of the doctrines of God and reconciliation, harnessing the resources contained within the doctrines of the Trinity and divine perfections to energize a properly theological account of the unity and diversity of the atonement.
