Book SAP Exchange Infrastructure

Download or read book SAP Exchange Infrastructure written by Murat Ertugrul and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2011-02-10 with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Principles of Efficient Information Management

Download or read book Principles of Efficient Information Management written by August-Wilhelm Scheer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first edition of this book appeared in the Federal Republic of Gennany in 1984. and in English translation as "Computer: A Challenge for Business Administration" in 1985. This book. which is a translation of the fourth Gennan edition. has been comprehensively revised. As a result both the character and the expected audience of the book have changed. which is reflected in the alteration to the title. This book adresses itself to issues arising from the research areas of both infonnation systems and computer science. Computer science departments are primarily concerned with the development of EDP techniques. and the business economics aspects remain largely Ignored. The emphasis in infonnation systems departments is placed on the investigation of the business economic impact of the use of already existing systems. This strongly empirical approach is accompanied by a disinclination to consider actual system deSign: this is considered the responsibility of the software houses. This partitioning. however. leaves untapped the considerable potential which could be realized by an interdisciplinary approach from computer science and business economics. An isolated approach neglects both the effects that business economics can have on the implementation of EDP techniques. and the structural impact of EDP on business economics.

Book The Business Affairs of Mr Julius Caesar

Download or read book The Business Affairs of Mr Julius Caesar written by Bertolt Brecht and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2016-01-28 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bertolt Brecht's extraordinary historical novel presents an aspiring scholar's efforts to write an idealized life of Julius Caesar twenty years after his death. But the historian abandons his planned biography, confronted by a baffling range of contradictory views. Was Caesar an opportunist, a permanently bankrupt businessman who became too big for the banks to allow him to fail – as his former banker claims? Did he stumble into power while trying to make money, as suggested by the diary of his former slave? Across these different versions of Caesar's career in the political and economic life of Rome, Brecht wryly contrasts the narratives of imperial progress with the reality of grasping self-interest, in a sly allegory that points to the Weimar Republic and perhaps even to our own times. Brecht reminds his readers of the need for constant vigilance and critical suspicion towards the great figures of the past. In an echo of his dramatic theories, the audience is confronted with its own task of active interpretation rather than passive acceptance -- we have to work out our own views about Mr Julius Caesar. This edition is translated by Charles Osborne and features an introduction and editorial notes by Anthony Phelan and Tom Kuhn.

Book Visionary Manufacturing Challenges for 2020

Download or read book Visionary Manufacturing Challenges for 2020 written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 1998-12-18 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Manufacturing will unquestionably be a very different enterprise in 2020 from what it is today. This book presents an exciting picture of the profitable and productive potential of manufacturing two decades hence. This book takes an international view of future manufacturing that considers the leaps and bounds of technological innovation and the blurring of the lines between the manufacturing and service industries. The authors identify ten strategic technology areas as the most important for research and development and they recommend ways to address crosscutting questions. Representing a variety of industries, the authors identify six "grand challenges" that must be overcome for their vision to be realized, including the human/technology interface, environmental concerns, and miniaturization. A host of issues are discussed that will push and pull at manufacturing over the next 20 years: the changing workforce, the changing consumer, the rise of bio- and nanotechnology, the prospects for waste-free processing, simulation and modeling as design tools, shifts in global competition, and much more. The information and analyses in this book will be vitally important to everyone concerned about the future of manufacturing: policymakers, executives, design and engineering professionals, researchers, faculty, and students.
