Book Health Facility Surveys

Download or read book Health Facility Surveys written by Magnus Lindelöw and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2003 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Health facility surveys come in various guises. One dimension in which they vary is their motivation. Some seek to understand better links between households and providers. Others seek to understand better provider behavior and performance. Still others seek to understand the interrelationships between providers, while yet others seek to shed light on the linkages between government and providers. Health facility surveys differ too in the data they collect, in part due to the different motivations. Surveys also vary in the way they collect data, some relying on direct observation, some on record review, and some on interview. Some quality data are collected through clinical vignettes. Facility data have been put to a variety of uses, including planning and budgeting; monitoring, evaluation, and promoting accountability; and research. Lindel and Wagstaff review some of the literature under each heading and offer some conclusions regarding the current state of health facility surveys.

This book was released on 2023-01-09 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Harmonized Health Facility Assessment (HHFA) is a comprehensive health facility survey that assesses that availability of health facility services and the capacity to provide these services at required standards of quality. The HHFA is accompanied by a set of tools, guidance documents and training materials. The HHFA Comprehensive guide serves as the main reference document for planning and implementing a country HHFA. This guide will promote understanding of: - What the HHFA is and the information it can and cannot provide. - The HHFA modules, questionnaires and CSPro electronic data collection tool. - The HHFA indicators, indices and their organization within the HHFA indicator inventory platform. - The HHFA data analysis platform. - The HHFA sampling and data collection methodologies. - The detailed steps involved in planning and implementing an HHFA. - Key concepts in review, interpretation and communication of HHFA findings. The HHFA Comprehensive guide is intended to help anyone involved in the detail of planning and implementing an HHFA and using HHFA data to strengthen country health services. This can include staff of the ministry of health (MoH), donor agencies and implementing partners, as well as academic institutions supporting the survey. The guidance will be of particular use to the multiparter country HHFA coordination group, the HHFA technical committee, the survey manager and the data analysts and report writers.

Book Essentials Of Survey Sampling

Download or read book Essentials Of Survey Sampling written by Arijit Chaudhuri and published by PHI Learning Pvt. Ltd.. This book was released on 2010-01-30 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How the samples are allocated to strata or to clusters? Which is the best sampling method? How large a sample size should be? Will the sample provide the precision that we require? How the best results can be obtained at the lower cost? How to design and analyze different forms of sample surveys? The author focusses on using sampling techniques and ideas to solve real problems. This text includes different sampling methods and different sample allocation plans to create the powerful, cost effective survey sample design for your study. It covers a wide range of sampling methods simple random sampling, stratified sampling and cluster sampling. The book also describes the mathematics involved behind the confidence limits, ratio estimation, sample size and survey precision. Small area estimation, randomized response, network, adaptive sampling, control sampling and permanent random numbers are also discussed in addition to most of the classical topics.

Book Sampling of Populations

Download or read book Sampling of Populations written by Paul S. Levy and published by Wiley-Interscience. This book was released on 1991-03-27 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Intended for the working professional, it offers a practical look at the basic concepts and procedures of sample design with a minimum of mathematical formality and technical jargon. Specifically designed as a user-friendly guide, it discusses the various procedures for drawing a sample (e.g., systematic sampling and probability proportionate to size sampling) in a step-by-step manner that readers can follow almost like a manual. In addition, the book makes use of numerous demonstrations and examples, instead of extended mathematical proofs, for the purpose of giving the reader a clear understanding of the rational for procedures used in sampling. The volume is a revision and expansion of an earlier text that takes into account major developments in sampling methodology over the past decade.
