Book Reading Mastery Prescription RMP

Download or read book Reading Mastery Prescription RMP written by Sarah Hardesty and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2022-05-04 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many methods for teaching people to read exist today. Reading mastery on the whole is made of many segments summed together. Reading programs have taken a fraction out of order, attempting to teach an end segment at the beginning. Some segments are left out entirely. This will frustrate a new reader. Sounding out letters is a great beginning and should not be omitted. But there is also a vital fraction of reading wholeness that should immediately follow sounding out, which shows the resemblance of rhyming and patterns in the smallest portions of words. These two, sounding out and identifying patterns, are most important to the mastery of reading. Sounding out makes accomplished goals stick in the mind. Showing small patterns in repetition through fun enhances faster learning. The title for this book, Reading Mastery Prescription, came about while I was pondering the book's utility for those who would teach reading. I visualized the analogy of someone who is illiterate meeting with a reading teacher just as a sick person must go to the doctor, seeking a cure for an illness. The doctor will write a prescription and discuss other things that can be done to assist with optimum health. The medication must be taken in the exact dose and method as prescribed, over a period of time, until the illness is conquered. The reading teacher and aspiring teachers can prescribe these easy lessons and use this straightforward method of reading instruction to cure a person's illiteracy. The lessons should be followed exactly, without skipping a dose, and in the order set out until illiteracy is conquered. Whether the student is young, middle-aged, or elderly, if the teacher prescribes this reading method and the student applies it, reading will produce its own joys and great satisfaction.

Book Sammy Keyes and the Search for Snake Eyes

Download or read book Sammy Keyes and the Search for Snake Eyes written by Wendelin Van Draanen and published by Yearling. This book was released on 2003-04-08 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The most winning junior detective ever in teen lit. (Take that, Nancy Drew!)" —Midwest Children's Book Review Sammy's softball team is in contention for the Junior Slugger's Cup, and all she wants to do is hunker down behind the home plate and catch strikes. But Heather Acosta brings new meaning to the term "foul ball" as she schemes to get Sammy kicked off the team. Then Sammy is thrown a wild pitch by a frantic girl at the mall. The girl asks Sammy to watch her bag and dashes off before Sammy discovers that the bag she's left holding contains a baby! When the girl doesn't return, Sammy decides to go find her. A heart-pounding search ensues, and leads to some situations that are definitely not covered in the softball playbook. The Sammy Keyes mysteries are fast-paced, funny, thoroughly modern, and true whodunits. Each mystery is exciting and dramatic, but it's the drama in Sammy's personal life that keeps readers coming back to see what happens next with her love interest Casey, her soap-star mother, and her mysterious father.

Book Snakes in Suits

Download or read book Snakes in Suits written by Dr. Paul Babiak and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2009-10-13 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revised and updated with the latest scientific research and updated case studies, the business classic that offers a revealing look at psychopaths in the workplace—how to spot their destructive behavior and stop them from creating chaos in the modern corporate organization. Over the past decade, Snakes in Suits has become the definitive book on how to discover and defend yourself against psychopaths in the office. Now, Dr. Paul Babiak and Dr. Robert D. Hare return with a revised and updated edition of their essential guide. All of us at some point have—or will—come into contact with psychopathic individuals. The danger they present may not be readily apparent because of their ability to charm, deceive, and manipulate. Although not necessarily criminal, their self-serving nature frequently is destructive to the organizations that employ them. So how can we protect ourselves and our organizations in a business climate that offers the perfect conditions for psychopaths to thrive? In Snakes in Suits, Hare, an expert on the scientific study of psychopathy, and Babiak, an industrial and organizational psychologist and a leading authority on the corporate psychopath, examine the role of psychopaths in modern corporations and provide the tools employers can use to avoid and deal with them. Together, they have developed the B-Scan 360, a research tool designed specifically for business professionals. Dr. Babiak and Dr. Hare reveal the secret lives of psychopaths, explain the ways in which they manipulate and deceive, and help you to see through their games. The rapid pace of today’s corporate environment provides the perfect breeding ground for these "snakes in suits" and this newly revised and updated classic gives you the insight, information, and power to protect yourself and your company before it’s too late.

Book Historical Dictionary of Golf

Download or read book Historical Dictionary of Golf written by Bill Mallon and published by Scarecrow Press. This book was released on 2011-01-21 with total page 865 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Golf has been called the greatest of all games, but it has also been derided by none other than Mark Twain as nothing more than a good walk spoiled. Traditional teaching holds that golf originated in Scotland around the 15th century. However, there is historical evidence of games similar to golf being played in the low countries of Europe back in the 13th century. Over the many centuries of golf's evolution, the balls used have changed greatly, as have the clubs, the holes, the courses, and the entire game itself. The Historical Dictionary of Golf presents a comprehensive history of the game through a chronology, an introductory essay, a bibliography, photos, and over 300 cross-referenced dictionary entries on places, teams, terminology, and people, including Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, Jack Nicklaus, Annika Sörenstam, Lorena Ochoa, Phil Mickelson, and, of course, Tiger Woods. Appendixes of the members of the World Golf Hall of Fame, the Major Championships of Golf, the International Team Events, and the Professional Tour Awards are also included.
