Book Victory Under the Banners of God

Download or read book Victory Under the Banners of God written by Vinton C. De Villiers and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-07-09 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a compilation of biblical scripture to aid all Christians in their walk with God. The book will teach the readers about commitment to themselves as well as about showing love and compassion towards their families and other people. The concern for world issues and the confronting trials of everyday life, no matter how big or small, touches all Christians; therefore their faith in God should compel them into action. Although the book allows the reader to petition to God for salvation and breakthrough in their lives, it also showcases the role of the church in the daily lives of their congregations. Allow the banners, highlighted in this book, to teach you to trust in God and to expect Gods divine intervention during the trials and tribulations in your lives, your family, your church, your city, your country, or anywhere in the world. Consider the hardships of hunger, rape, and abuse of women and children. Your prayers and blessings will surely help. You may use these banners during worship at home, during the meeting of your cell/small group or during the service at church. God bless you. Yours truly, V. C. DE VILLIERS

Book Righteousness Holiness and Victory Over Sin

Download or read book Righteousness Holiness and Victory Over Sin written by Karl Kemp and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-10-13 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This e-book, which deals to a large extent with the interpretation of passages of the Bible (especially the New Testament) that deal with the super-important topic of righteousness, holiness, and victory over sin is packed with good news, very good news! The New Testament clearly, and consistently, teaches that God calls, and enables, us to walk with the victory over sin, by grace through faith. No true Christian wants to sin! God hates sin, and He paid an infinite price in the Sacrifice of His Son to set us free from spiritual death and bondage to sin. We will never walk in the righteousness and holiness of God with the victory over sin BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH until we are convinced in our hearts that God has called us to such a walk and provides the grace for us to do what He has called us to do. The New Testament makes it quite clear that the victory over sin is far from being automatic, or always easy. We have powerful enemies against us: the world, the flesh (the old man who wants to continue to sin), and the devil and his hosts, but the saving grace of God in Christ is far more powerful for those who appropriate His grace by faith (a faith that is based on God and His Word). The saving grace of God in Christ includes all the work of the Holy Spirit, the infinite Spirit of God, who dwells in all true Christians. We must make living in the righteousness and holiness with the victory over sin a top priority. WE MUST AIM AT THAT TARGET! WE CERTAINLY WON'T HIT THE TARGET IF WE ARE NOT AIMING AT IT! We don't want to repeat the error of the people of Israel at Kadesh (Numbers chapters 13, 14), where they believed in their hearts (and spoke and acted accordingly) that they could not do what God had called them to do. Of course God did not expect them to defeat the Canaanites by their strength; He did, however, expect them to trust Him and walk by faith. God knows our hearts! Also, it is good to know that He has promised to forgive us IF we should sin, when we repent. This printed copy of the e-book (and the e-book) was taken, with some modifications, from the written texts behind my twenty-eight half-hour radio broadcasts that deal with this topic. This book borrows extensively from, and serves as a good introduction for, my paperback book, "Holiness and Victory Over Sin," which is available on amazon.com. I highly recommend reading this book (or the e-book) first. Like I said, it serves as a good introduction for the paperback book, and it is easier to read. If you like this book, you will also like the paperback book. The paperback book contains a large amount of information that is not included in this book, and this book contains some information that is not included in the paperback book.

Book Love s Final Victory Ultimate Universal Salvation on the Basis of Scripture and Reason

Download or read book Love s Final Victory Ultimate Universal Salvation on the Basis of Scripture and Reason written by Horatio (An Orthodox Minister) and published by Library of Alexandria. This book was released on 2020-09-28 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The circumstances under which these pages came to be written are rather peculiar. I am in favor of church unity, and I had thought of writing something that would tend to bring the churches into closer harmony. I am persuaded that their unity of doctrine is greater than is usually supposed; I endeavored to make this apparent by citing a long list of doctrines on which the churches tacitly agree. But in all faithfulness I had to recognize a striking difference of opinion when I came to speak of the doctrine of future punishment. On this profound question I had to recognize that there are honest differences of opinion. These could not be summarily dismissed by a hasty yea or nay. There are three views that are entertained, which may be expressed thus: Extinction; Restoration; Endless Suffering. Not only do these different views prevail among different churches; they prevail also among individuals in all the churches. In fact, it would be hard to find a thoughtful church of any name in which each of these views is not represented. While there is this diversity of view, there ought surely to be toleration. It is a profound subject; I am very conscious of that; yet I think there may be ultimate harmony if we are only candid enough to lay aside all prejudice, and give the matter our serious and impartial consideration. And surely, it is worthy of that. In my view, there is a right conception of the matter, which if generally entertained would go far to lift a dark shadow from the heart of the world. For myself, I may say that I was brought up in an orthodox church that professes to believe in endless suffering. I had not, even at a mature age, examined that doctrine critically. In fact, I shrunk from examining it; I think most people do who professedly accept it. It is the doctrine of the church, and the easiest way is to assume that it is all right. If it was formulated by our learned and pious ancestors, the usual idea is that it's good enough for us. A thoughtful mind, however, could not but recognize that there is a serious difference on this question in different churches that are admitted to be evangelical. Not only that, but there is a difference between thoughtful men in the same church. Hence, I was led to adopt, and to state, my own views here. The arguments that I was thus compelled to use expanded far beyond my expectation. Then I recognized that a plea for unity along with the advocacy of a contested vital doctrine, do not hang well together. Moreover, the space that I felt compelled to give to this doctrinal defense, induced me to cut it loose from my plea for unity, and present the matter separately.

Book Reclaiming Victory

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jason R. Velotta
  • Publisher : Tate Publishing
  • Release : 2012-05
  • ISBN : 1618627406
  • Pages : 322 pages

Download or read book Reclaiming Victory written by Jason R. Velotta and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2012-05 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today, many believe the gospel is nothing more than the basics of Christianity – the first of many steps toward a victorious life of joy. The gospel of Christ is believed, accepted, and then laid aside as the believer searches for the abundant life. Do you remember the joy you felt when Jesus first saved you from your sin? Before you knew it, ministry programs, self-help principles, and moral mandates drew you away from the very gospel that first captivated you. Since then you have struggled to recapture that victory for living. Far too many believers experience this loss of vitality in their spiritual lives. In fact, this decline is so common that many say a declining passion is to be expected as a Christian matures! Even worse, because of our inept view of the gospel, many non-believers disregard the Bible's evidences of salvation, joining the millions of unfulfilled believers in a fruitless search for peace. In Reclaiming Victory: Living The Gospel, author Jason R. Velotta dispels the idea that salvation is just the doorway on the road toward victorious living. With an informative yet captivating style, Reclaiming Victory brings God's Word to the forefront, showing that the gospel itself is the victorious Christian life! Believers will find that the life of fulfillment is waiting at Calvary, exactly where we left it. Disregard the 'recovery' mindset, which has led to helplessness and apathy, for the gospel is not just the door to salvation...It is the source of the victorious Christian life! Your Savior is waiting...your fulfillment has always been in Him...Victory is already yours!

Book Christus Victor

    Book Details:
  • Author : Gustaf Aulen
  • Publisher : Wipf and Stock Publishers
  • Release : 2003-09-05
  • ISBN : 1725254174
  • Pages : 182 pages

Download or read book Christus Victor written by Gustaf Aulen and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2003-09-05 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gustaf Aulen's classic work, 'Christus Victor', has long been a standard text on the atonement. Aulen applies history of ideas' methodology to historical theology in tracing the development of three views of the atonement. Aulen asserts that in traditional histories of the doctrine of the atonement only two views have usually been presented, the objective/Anselmian and the subjective/Aberlardian views. According to Aulen, however, there is another type of atonement doctrine in which Christ overcomes the hostile powers that hold humanity in subjection, at the same time that God in Christ reconciles the world to Himself. This view he calls the "classic" idea of the atonement. Because of its predominance in the New Testament, in patristic writings, and in the theology of Luther, Aulen holds that the classic type may be called the distinctively Christian idea of the atonement.
