Download or read book Ron s Road to Wealth written by Ron Muhlenkamp and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008-02-08 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Praise for Ron's Road to Wealth "Long-term investors will learn much from Ron Muhlenkamp's thoughtful reflections on what he has learned about investing over a thirty-year period of successful practice." --Milton Friedman "Ron Muhlenkamp has thought long and hard and successfully about investments for many years. He has learned not to be misled by the distortions that inflation brings to normal returns. He has also learned the important understanding that volatility is not the risk that should concern long-term investors. His book will help readers to do better." --Allan H. Meltzer, Professor of Political Economy and Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University "Ron Muhlenkamp has one of the most original, insightful minds in the financial world today. His record is superb. You will find his book a richly rewarding read." --Steve Forbes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes and Editor in Chief of Forbes magazine "Conventional wisdom says that mutual fund managers can't beat the market; Ron Muhlenkamp's record proves that he can. Ron's Road to Wealth offers a bounty of snapshots of the insightful thinking that has allowed Muhlenkamp to better his peers with remarkable consistency. While many on Wall Street make their living adding to the confusion of the investment process, Muhlenkamp cuts through the clutter to reveal the commonsense logic underneath the surface. If you're tired of conventional investment results, you'll relish this book's unconventional wisdom." --Don Phillips, Managing Director of Morningstar, Inc. "Ron Muhlenkamp is virtually the only commentator in today's investment world who makes a compelling and commonsense case for active investment management. His principles have exactly what you look for in the investment world: they modestly underpromise and have an interesting history of overdelivering." --Bob Veres, Publisher and Editor of Inside Information

Book excerpt: Talk & Grow Rich has been helping to create millionaires since 1981.“I can categorically state that Ron Holland's book Talk & Grow Rich and his personal mentoring helped me tremendously. Ron held my hand until I got the first million in the bank and I am now a multi-millionaire with international homes around the world.” - Andy Hunt, Clearsky Properties. Talk & Grow Rich will blow you away! This book was first published in 1981 and having passed the test of time, is now one of the greatest self-help classics of all time, selling all over the world in many different languages and formats. It was the first book to introduce Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and the incredible works of Carlos Castaneda and meditation into the business and sales arena. Countless people claim they prefer Ron's book more than Napoleons Hill's incredible Think and Grow Rich, because it shows in great detail, in layman's terms, exactly what you have to do in order to make money and become wealthy. Think and Grow Rich and the Science of Getting Rich were written way back in the day, before they even discovered the brain had two separate hemispheres, that work in totally different ways in the way they process information. Talk & Grow Rich will show you how to cultivate peace of mind as well as how to sell anything to anyone. Its powerful techniques will teach you how to get people to lend you money, buy from you and also how to get into the other man's mind. It will show you how to develop a rapport with your prospect, at levels that have never been revealed before. It will show you how to generate wealth without capital, and why thinking may be the worst possible thing you can do. It will teach you how you can succeed even if you are shy, feel cumbersome about talking to people and feel like an absolute failure. You will discover how to tell what other people are thinking just by the position of their eyes and well as hundreds of ways of dealing with all the niggling and small things that stand between you and wealth. You will learn how to generate so many fool proof success ideas (Ron calls these Eurekas!) that you will need to carry pen and paper around to capture them. Once you have your million dollar idea, Ron will show you in great detail how to turn that idea in money. Talk & Grow Rich is so powerful you will want to read it over and over again until it becomes a very part of you. You will discover why the subconscious mind is literally the foundation of everything we do and why it doesn't matter if the prospect says, 'NO'. Ron G Holland has been written up as; 'Jedi Master of Wealth Creation', 'Leading Motivational Speaker', 'The Juggernaut', 'The Equalizer', 'Top Biz Guru', and the 'Entrepreneur's Entrepreneur'. Ron is one of the world's leading exponents on the subject of thinking and non-thinking and has given numerous business seminars and presentations and has been interviewed on TV, radio and press across four continents. Ron is a hired brain and a professional problem solver and has an enviable track record in helping create millionaires. There are many testimonials in the book from people he has helped achieve that status. In this revealing book, Ron introduces his incredible formula for solving problems and creating million dollar success ideas which he calls Silence, Stillness and Solitude ($.$.$.) and also talks about why in the East they say, 'By going out of our minds once a day – we come to our senses.' All his contact details are in the book and he will be pleased to hear from you. Ron works as a business mentor in all business sectors globally and he is actively seeking out those who want to become millionaires.

Book Lincolnomics

Download or read book Lincolnomics written by John F. Wasik and published by Diversion Books. This book was released on 2021-04-13 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A biography of Abraham Lincoln that examines his untold legacy as the Great Builder of American infrastructure. Abraham Lincoln’s view of the right to fulfill one’s economic destiny was at the core of his governing philosophy―but he knew no one could climb that ladder without strong federal support. Some of his most enduring policies came to him before the Civil War, visions of a country linked by railroads running ocean to ocean, canals turning small towns into bustling cities, public works bridging farmers to market. Expertly appraising the foundational ideas and policies on infrastructure that America’s sixteenth president rooted in society, John F. Wasik tracks Lincoln from his time in the 1830s as a young Illinois state legislator pushing internal improvements; through his work as a lawyer representing the Illinois Central Railroad in the 1840s; to his presidential fight for the Transcontinental Railroad; and his support of land-grant colleges that educated a nation. To Lincoln, infrastructure meant more than the roads, bridges, and canals he shepherded as a lawyer and a public servant. These brick-and-mortar developments were essential to a nation’s lifting citizens above poverty and its isolating origins. Lincolnomics revives the disremembered history of how Lincoln paved the way for Eisenhower’s interstate highways and FDR’s social amenities. With an afterword addressing the failure of American infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how Lincoln’s policies provide a guide to the future, Lincolnomics makes the case for the man nicknamed “The Rail Splitter” as the Presidency’s greatest builder. “In this unique blend of biography and policy prescription, journalist Wasik . . . casts Abraham Lincoln as America’s “foremost moral architect of economic and social opportunity” and looks to his life and political career for lessons in how the nation might rebuild its infrastructure and redress income inequality. . . . Wasik convincingly argues that [Lincoln’s] economic policies deserve more credit.” —Publishers Weekly “While revealing as history, Wasik’s account about the first Republican President’s launches of infrastructure shame the ignorant, obstinate, narcissist Republicans of today who wish instead to build up tyrant Trump’s political infrastructure. This is a book to be read and used today.” —Ralph Nader “Wasik invented a new word for this book because his theme bears new force: Abraham Lincoln sought a better-built nation and a freer legal space to help every individual, regardless of background, to aspire and rise. Most historians know this too vaguely about Lincoln; Wasik finally gives the great democratic idea the prominence it deserves.” —James M. Cornelius, Ph.D., editor, Journal of the Abraham Lincoln Association

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In the dark, bewildering, trap-infested jungle of misinformation and opaque riddles that is the world of investment, JL Collins is the fatherly wizard on the side of the path, offering a simple map, warm words of encouragement and the tools to forge your way through with confidence. You'll never find a wiser advisor with a bigger heart." -- Malachi Rempen: Filmmaker, cartoonist, author and self-described ruffian This book grew out of a series of letters to my daughter concerning various things-mostly about money and investing-she was not yet quite ready to hear. Since money is the single most powerful tool we have for navigating this complex world we've created, understanding it is critical. "But Dad," she once said, "I know money is important. I just don't want to spend my life thinking about it." This was eye-opening. I love this stuff. But most people have better things to do with their precious time. Bridges to build, diseases to cure, treaties to negotiate, mountains to climb, technologies to create, children to teach, businesses to run. Unfortunately, benign neglect of things financial leaves you open to the charlatans of the financial world. The people who make investing endlessly complex, because if it can be made complex it becomes more profitable for them, more expensive for us, and we are forced into their waiting arms. Here's an important truth: Complex investments exist only to profit those who create and sell them. Not only are they more costly to the investor, they are less effective. The simple approach I created for her and present now to you, is not only easy to understand and implement, it is more powerful than any other. Together we'll explore: Debt: Why you must avoid it and what to do if you have it. The importance of having F-you Money. How to think about money, and the unique way understanding this is key to building your wealth. Where traditional investing advice goes wrong and what actually works. What the stock market really is and how it really works. Why the stock market always goes up and why most people still lose money investing in it. How to invest in a raging bull, or bear, market. Specific investments to implement these strategies. The Wealth Building and Wealth Preservation phases of your investing life and why they are not always tied to your age. How your asset allocation is tied to those phases and how to choose it. How to simplify the sometimes confusing world of 401(k), 403(b), TSP, IRA and Roth accounts. TRFs (Target Retirement Funds), HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) and RMDs (Required Minimum Distributions). What investment firm to use and why the one I recommend is so far superior to the competition. Why you should be very cautious when engaging an investment advisor and whether you need to at all. Why and how you can be conned, and how to avoid becoming prey. Why I don't recommend dollar cost averaging. What financial independence looks like and how to have your money support you. What the 4% rule is and how to use it to safely spend your wealth. The truth behind Social Security. A Case Study on how this all can be implemented in real life. Enjoy the read, and the journey!

Book Rich In Experience A Memoir

Download or read book Rich In Experience A Memoir written by Charles B. Mikell, Jr. and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-01-07 with total page 467 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rich in Experience is a memoir by the late Charles B. Mikell, Jr., Chief Judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals. Judge Mikell--or "Charlie," as many knew him--became one of Georgia's great jurists, but his path was long and winding. Rich in Experience takes the reader from Charlie's humble beginnings in coastal Georgia, through the hallowed halls of Princeton University, humid jungles of the Vietnam War, grey uniformity of Communist Czechslovakia, and rarified courtrooms throughout the State of Georgia. Charlie's stories about French kissing his high school dates, smuggling a Czechslovak president's silverware, and settling high-stakes disputes in Georgia law, among other things, are sure to intrigue and delight. He began work on Rich in Experience after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. Throughout the following seven years, until his death in 2013, Charlie meditated and reflected on the rich experiences of his life and produced this compelling volume.

Book Accelerating Customer Relationships

Download or read book Accelerating Customer Relationships written by Ronald S. Swift and published by Prentice Hall Professional. This book was released on 2001 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preface Corporations that achieve high customer retention and high customer profitability aim for: The right product (or service), to the right customer, at the right price, at the right time, through the right channel, to satisfy the customer's need or desire. Information Technology—in the form of sophisticated databases fed by electronic commerce, point-of-sale devices, ATMs, and other customer touch points—is changing the roles of marketing and managing customers. Information and knowledge bases abound and are being leveraged to drive new profitability and manage changing relationships with customers. The creation of knowledge bases, sometimes called data warehouses or Info-Structures, provides profitable opportunities for business managers to define and analyze their customers' behavior to develop and better manage short- and long-term relationships. Relationship Technology will become the new norm for the use of information and customer knowledge bases to forge more meaningful relationships. This will be accomplished through advanced technology, processes centered on the customers and channels, as well as methodologies and software combined to affect the behaviors of organizations (internally) and their customers/channels (externally). We are quickly moving from Information Technology to Relationship Technology. The positive effect will be astounding and highly profitable for those that also foster CRM. At the turn of the century, merchants and bankers knew their customers; they lived in the same neighborhoods and understood the individual shopping and banking needs of each of their customers. They practiced the purest form of Customer Relationship Management (CRM). With mass merchandising and franchising, customer relationships became distant. As the new millennium begins, companies are beginning to leverage IT to return to the CRM principles of the neighborhood store and bank. The customer should be the primary focus for most organizations. Yet customer information in a form suitable for marketing or management purposes either is not available, or becomes available long after a market opportunity passes, therefore CRM opportunities are lost. Understanding customers today is accomplished by maintaining and acting on historical and very detailed data, obtained from numerous computing and point-of-contact devices. The data is merged, enriched, and transformed into meaningful information in a specialized database. In a world of powerful computers, personal software applications, and easy-to-use analytical end-user software tools, managers have the power to segment and directly address marketing opportunities through well managed processes and marketing strategies. This book is written for business executives and managers interested in gaining advantage by using advanced customer information and marketing process techniques. Managers charged with managing and enhancing relationships with their customers will find this book a profitable guide for many years. Many of today's managers are also charged with cutting the cost of sales to increase profitability. All managers need to identify and focus on those customers who are the most profitable, while, possibly, withdrawing from supporting customers who are unprofitable. The goal of this book is to help you: identify actions to categorize and address your customers much more effectively through the use of information and technology, define the benefits of knowing customers more intimately, and show how you can use information to increase turnover/revenues, satisfaction, and profitability. The level of detailed information that companies can build about a single customer now enables them to market through knowledge-based relationships. By defining processes and providing activities, this book will accelerate your CRM "learning curve," and provide an effective framework that will enable your organization to tap into the best practices and experiences of CRM-driven companies (in Chapter 14). In Chapter 6, you will have the opportunity to learn how to (in less than 100 days) start or advance, your customer database or data warehouse environment. This book also provides a wider managerial perspective on the implications of obtaining better information about the whole business. The customer-centric knowledge-based info-structure changes the way that companies do business, and it is likely to alter the structure of the organization, the way it is staffed, and, even, how its management and employees behave. Organizational changes affect the way the marketing department works and the way that it is perceived within the organization. Effective communications with prospects, customers, alliance partners, competitors, the media, and through individualized feedback mechanisms creates a whole new image for marketing and new opportunities for marketing successes. Chapter 14 provides examples of companies that have transformed their marketing principles into CRM practices and are engaging more and more customers in long-term satisfaction and higher per-customer profitability. In the title of this book and throughout its pages I have used the phrase "Relationship Technologies" to describe the increasingly sophisticated data warehousing and business intelligence technologies that are helping companies create lasting customer relationships, therefore improving business performance. I want to acknowledge that this phrase was created and protected by NCR Corporation and I use this trademark throughout this book with the company's permission. Special thanks and credit for developing the Relationship Technologies concept goes to Dr. Stephen Emmott of NCR's acclaimed Knowledge Lab in London. As time marches on, there is an ever-increasing velocity with which we communicate, interact, position, and involve our selves and our customers in relationships. To increase your Return on Investment (ROI), the right information and relationship technologies are critical for effective Customer Relationship Management. It is now possible to: know who your customers are and who your best customers are stimulate what they buy or know what they won't buy time when and how they buy learn customers' preferences and make them loyal customers define characteristics that make up a great/profitable customer model channels are best to address a customer's needs predict what they may or will buy in the future keep your best customers for many years This book features many companies using CRM, decision-support, marketing databases, and data-warehousing techniques to achieve a positive ROI, using customer-centric knowledge-bases. Success begins with understanding the scope and processes involved in true CRM and then initiating appropriate actions to create and move forward into the future. Walking the talk differentiates the perennial ongoing winners. Reinvestment in success generates growth and opportunity. Success is in our ability to learn from the past, adopt new ideas and actions in the present, and to challenge the future. Respectfully, Ronald S. Swift Dallas, Texas June 2000

Book Integrity Selling for the 21st Century

Download or read book Integrity Selling for the 21st Century written by Ron Willingham and published by Currency. This book was released on 2003-06-17 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “I have observed several hundred salespeople who were taught to use deceptive practices like ‘bait and switch’ and encouraged to play negotiation games with customers... In the same industry, I have observed countless people who had been taught to sell with high integrity. Ironically, their customer satisfaction, profit margins, and salesperson retention were significantly higher.” — Ron Willingham If you’ve tried manipulative, self-focused selling techniques that demean you and your customer, if you’ve ever wondered if selling could be more than just talking people into buying, then Integrity Selling for the 21st Century is the book for you. Its concept is simple: Only by getting to know your customers and their needs — and believing that you can meet those needs — will you enjoy relationships with customers built on trust. And only then, when you bring more value to your customers than you receive in payment, will you begin to reap the rewards of high sales. Since the publication of Ron Willingham’s enormously successful first book, Integrity Selling, his sales program has been adopted by dozens of Fortune 500 companies, such as Johnson & Johnson and IBM, as well as the American Red Cross and the New York Times. In his new book, Integrity Selling for the 21st Century, Willingham explains how his selling system relates to today’s business climate — when the need for integrity is greater than ever before. Integrity Selling for the 21st Century teaches a process of self-evaluation to help you become a stellar salesperson in any business climate. Once you’ve established your own goals and personality traits, you’ll be able to evaluate them in your customers and adapt your styles to create a more trusting, productive relationship. Drawing upon Willingham’s years of experience and success stories from sales forces of the more than 2,000 companies that have adopted the Integrity Selling system, Ron Willingham has created a blueprint for achieving success in sales while staying true to your values.
