Book The Global Entrepreneur

Download or read book The Global Entrepreneur written by Ervin Williams and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2005-01-19 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WEALTH CREATING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES WHO ARE GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURS? There is a new breed of entrepreneurs today – the Global Entrepreneur. They are different from past entrepreneurs; they are completely wired for Information Age businesses, they know how to harness knowledge and technology, and frequently engage a network of global business partners to help operate their international ventures. The Global Entrepreneur understands that the soft assets of knowledge and technology are greater creators of wealth than hard assets such as land, equipment, factories and mines. They realize the management models and organizational paradigms of the Industrial Era are giving way to a fresh appreciation of virtualization, strategic alliances, empowerment of individuals, and a new understanding that plentitude creates wealth. What is really new is that Global Entrepreneurs frequently use virtual organizations, virtual products, and micro-virtual manufacturing processes to develop efficient global ventures. They are strongly motivated towards creating a global enterprise for generating substantial personal wealth. WHO SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK? There are three individual groups who will benefit from reading this book. Nascent Entrepreneurs. These are individuals who are thinking about owning a business, but haven’t taken the leap. This book provides a roadmap and shows you the essentials for starting a successful business. Small Business Owners. Small and medium enterprises are finding it increasingly difficult to achieve new growth in today’s economic environment. This book shows business owners how to explore and find extraordinary growth in developing fast-growing foreign markets. Students. College students in the 1600 U.S. institutions that teach entrepreneurship can use this book to better understand the dynamic contribution of entrepreneurship to world economic growth and wealth creation.

Book Departmental annual report 2010 11

Download or read book Departmental annual report 2010 11 written by Great Britain: Parliament: House of Commons: Foreign Affairs Committee and published by The Stationery Office. This book was released on 2012-04-13 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the impressive performance of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in representing the UK's interests across the globe with what is, in Governmental terms, a particularly small budget, the Foreign Affairs Committee believes that the FCO is under-funded. This situation has been exacerbated by the Spending Review 2010 and the lack of detail provided by the FCO and the BBC World Service as to exactly how the spending reductions target will be met is disappointing. There are concerns about the steps taken by the FCO to adjust to its reduced budget: reductions in the deployment of UK-based staff overseas and the optimistic planned programme of property sales will have a detrimental impact on the ability of the UK to protect its interests overseas. The establishment of the European External Action Service (EEAS) will place a further strain on the FCO's resources. The Committee welcomes the appointment of Lord Williams of Baglan to the post of "International Trustee" with responsibility for the BBC World Service, but reiterates its belief that a formal concordat governing the World Service's budget and output should be drawn up setting out the World Service's independence from budgetary pressures elsewhere in the BBC. The budget cuts faced by the British Council will lead to the Council becoming a substantially different organisation by the end of the Spending Review period. The greater emphasis that the British Council will place on commercial activity risks a diminution of the UK's influence and soft power.

Book excerpt: Crossing Borders helps students develop a framework for understanding the various disciplines that constitute international studies by exploring the many boundaries they knowingly (and unknowingly) cross on a daily basis. Renowned authors Harry I. Chernotsky and Heidi H. Hobbs address the diverse fields of international studies—geography, politics, economics, sociology, and anthropology—giving instructors a launching point to pursue their own disciplinary interests. This bestseller not only helps students to better grasp international affairs, but also offers advice on how they can engage with global issues through study abroad, internships, and career options. Updated thoroughly to reflect recent events and trends, the Fourth Edition assesses the COVID-19 pandemic; the use of social media to interfere in elections; the role of China in trade, investment, and finance; and the tensions surrounding persistent racial and gender inequities around the world. Book The Forgotten Self

    Book Details:
  • Author : Asa E. Lennon
  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2001-06-06
  • ISBN : 1493169289
  • Pages : 178 pages

Download or read book The Forgotten Self written by Asa E. Lennon and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2001-06-06 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Forgotten Self is a product of a lifetime study of meditation, eastern philosophy and spiritual seeking. The author, a martial arts teacher and practitioner, found a need among his fellow students for a how to manual on the subject of meditation. This instructional paper became a chapter in this three-part book. The Forgotten Self deals with such topics as meditation, world religions, metaphysics and spirituality as it relates to todays world. It is a guideline for the spiritual life-style as well as an instructional manual for unlocking those lost or unknown abilities latent in mankind as a species. Insightful and rewarding, The Forgotten Self promises to leave the reader with a better understanding of reality, the universe and his part in it. Divided into three separate sections, this book leads the reader through a process of opening possibilities, providing answers for them and expanding awareness through practical experiments. The first part is The Essence of Reality. Here the author discusses such topics as modern society, individual and mass reality, and forgotten ancient wisdom. Asa Lennon believes there are abilities of mankind that have, in the whir of modern society, been anciently forgotten. He hopes to show the reader that man has reached the point in history where he teeters between existence and extinction between civilization and chaos. It is the distancing of man from spirit that is at the heart of this problem. By returning to spirit, we can reclaim our heritage as keepers of the Earth and her treasures. The second part is The Mystic Way the Forgotten Path. Here Lennon discusses the solutions to problems that plague mankind individually and en masse. This part outlines specific ways to enhance your life, society and the universe as products of the conscious awareness of the individual. Part three will open the readers awareness through the introduction of various spiritual and metaphysical concepts. Entitled Remembering Yourself, it not only provides mind-challenging possibilities, but actually describes experimental opportunities in the chapter 20 The Human Laboratory. Asa Lennon promises the Forgotten Self will embark the reader on a journey of increased awareness, spirituality and wonder as the forgotten self once again becomes known.
