Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: K.R. McClay Department of Geology, Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London, Egham, Surrey, England TW20 OEX. Since the first Thrust and Nappe Tectonics Conference in London in 1979 (McClay & Price 1981), and the Toulouse Meeting on Thrusting and Deformation in 1984 (Platt et al. 1986) there have been considerable advances in the study of thrust systems incorporating new field observations, conceptual models, mechanical models, analogue and numerical simulations, together with geophysical studies of thrust belts. Thrust Tectonics 1990 was an International Conference convened by the editor and held at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London, Egham Surrey, from April 4th until April 7th 1990. There were one hundred and seventy participants from all continents except South America. The conference was generously sponsored by Brasoil U.K. Limited, BP Exploration, Chevron U.K. Limited, Clyde Petroleum, Enterprise Oil, Esso Exploration and Production UK Limited, and Shell U.K. Exploration and Production. One hundred and five contributions were presented at the meeting, - seventy six oral presentations (together with poster displays) and an additional twenty nine posters without oral presentation (McClay 1990, conference abstract volume).

Book Formation Damage during Improved Oil Recovery

Download or read book Formation Damage during Improved Oil Recovery written by Bin Yuan and published by Gulf Professional Publishing. This book was released on 2018-05-31 with total page 678 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Formation Damage during Improved Oil Recovery: Fundamentals and Applications bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and field practice by presenting information on formation damage issues that arise during enhanced oil recovery. Multi-contributed technical chapters include sections on modeling and simulation, lab experiments, field case studies, and newly proposed technologies and methods that are related to formation damage during secondary and tertiary recovery processes in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Focusing on both the fundamental theories related to EOR and formation damage, this reference helps engineers formulate integrated and systematic designs for applying EOR processes while also considering formation damage issues. Presents the first complete reference addressing formation damage as a result of enhanced oil recovery Provides the mechanisms for formation damage issues that are coupled with EOR Suggests appropriate preventative actions or responses Delivers a structured approach on how to understand the fundamental theories, practical challenges and solutions

Book Enhanced Oil Recovery

Download or read book Enhanced Oil Recovery written by Ajay Mandal and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-11-27 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Oil recovery efficiency can be increased by applying the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) processes, which are based on the improvement of mobility ratio, reduction of interfacial tension between oil and water, wettability alteration, reduction of oil viscosity, formation of oil banks, and so forth. This book describes the different EOR methods and their mechanisms, which are traditionally used after conventional primary and secondary processes. The present scenario of different EOR processes, at both the field application stage and research stage, is also covered. Further, it discusses some of the recent advances in EOR processes such as low-salinity water flooding, the application of nanotechnology in EOR, microbial EOR, carbonated water injection, etc. Features: Comprehensive coverage of all enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods Discussion of reservoir rock and fluid characteristics Illustration of steps in design and field implementation as well as the screening criteria for process selection Coverage of novel topics of nanotechnology in EOR and hybrid EOR method and low-salinity waterfloods Emphasis on recent technologies, feasibility, and implementation of hybrid technologies This book is aimed at graduate students, professionals, researchers, chemists, and personnel involved in petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, surfactant manufacturing, polymer manufacturing, oil/gas service companies, and carbon capture and utilization.

Book Recovery Despite Rehab

Download or read book Recovery Despite Rehab written by Skyler Pennington and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2021-11-30 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on true events, I offer details of my own life, my struggles with mental illness, substance abuse, and recovery. Offered is a unique perspective of America’s broken mental healthcare system and the cruel treatment of patients dealing with addiction, providing real solutions supported by research. America’s fragmented mental healthcare system and treatment of addiction promotes an outdated cure that is often far worse than the disease it supposedly treats. This is a treatment that exacerbates addictive behaviors, mental illness, and increases average substance misuse. If mental illness and addictive behaviors are to be combatted, reduced, or eliminated, the core foundation of societal values, as well as beliefs about addiction recovery and our mental health ecosystem, must be rebuilt from the ground up.

Book Applied Hydro Aeromechanics in Oil and Gas Drilling
