Book RAMSETE

Download or read book RAMSETE written by Salvatore Nicosia and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-07-01 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robotics applications, initially developed for industrial and manufacturing contexts, are now strongly present in several elds. Besides well-known space and high-technology applications, robotics for every day life and medical s- vices is becoming more and more popular. As an example, robotic manipu- tors are particularly useful in surgery and radiation treatments, they could be employed for civil demining, for helping disabled people, and ultimately for domestic tasks, entertainment and education. Such a kind of robotic app- cations require the integration of many di erent skills. Autonomous vehicles and mobile robots in general must be integrated with articulated manipu- tors. Many robotic technologies (sensors, actuators and computing systems) must be properly used with speci c technologies (localisation, planning and control technologies). The task of designing robots for these applications is a hard challenge: a speci c competence in each area is demanded, in the e ort of a truly integrated multidisciplinary design.

Book Control of Underactuated Manipulators

Download or read book Control of Underactuated Manipulators written by Jundong Wu and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-05-13 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book investigates in detail cutting-edge technologies of underactuated manipulator control, which is a frontier topic in robotics that possesses great significance in energy conservation as well as fault tolerance for industrial applications. It is also the crucial technology associated with systems in special environments, including underwater or aerospace environments. So far, the topic of underactuated manipulator control has attracted engineers and scientists from various disciplines, such as applied physics, material, automation and robotics. Pursuing a holistic approach, the book establishes a fundamental framework for this topic, while emphasizing the importance of design and optimization in the control of underactuated manipulators. Chapters of the book cover a wide variety of manipulator systems, including vertical underactuated manipulator, planar underactuated manipulator with first-order nonholonomic constraint, planar underactuated manipulator with second-order nonholonomic constraint and flexible underactuated manipulator. The book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students that are interested in underactuated manipulators, researchers that investigate the design and optimization for controllers of underactuated manipulators and engineers working with underactuated systems.

Book Design and Application of Robust Reduced Order Hybrid Position and Force Controllers for a Two Link Flexible Manipulator

Download or read book Design and Application of Robust Reduced Order Hybrid Position and Force Controllers for a Two Link Flexible Manipulator written by David E. Bossert and published by . This book was released on 1996-05-01 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This research focuses on the design and application of robust reduced-order hybrid position and force controllers on a two-link flexible manipulator. The first part of the research examines the design aspect of the hybrid controllers. Traditionally, full-order controllers are used in common techniques such as Linear-Quadratic-Gaussian (LQG) control. If the plant is of large order, then the resulting controller is also of large order. Full-order controllers have the disadvantages of requiring large amounts of memory as well as using excessive computational time. In addition, LQG-class controllers are only guaranteed to work at the design condition. With the use of the direct- optimization tool SANDY, reduced-order controllers are designed directly for several plant conditions (robustness). The experimental results show that the robust reduced-order SANDY controllers provide comparable performance to the full-order LQG controllers in the applications of position control, force control, and hybrid position and force control.

Book Fractional order Systems and Controls

All the control schemes and applications are presented in the monograph with either system simulation results or real experimental results, or both. Fractional-order Systems and Controls provides readers with a basic understanding of FOC concepts and methods, so they can extend their use of FOC in other industrial system applications, thereby expanding their range of disciplines by exploiting this versatile new set of control techniques.

Book Neural Network Control Of Robot Manipulators And Non Linear Systems

Download or read book Neural Network Control Of Robot Manipulators And Non Linear Systems written by F W Lewis and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1998-11-30 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has been great interest in "universal controllers" that mimic the functions of human processes to learn about the systems they are controlling on-line so that performance improves automatically. Neural network controllers are derived for robot manipulators in a variety of applications including position control, force control, link flexibility stabilization and the management of high-frequency joint and motor dynamics. The first chapter provides a background on neural networks and the second on dynamical systems and control. Chapter three introduces the robot control problem and standard techniques such as torque, adaptive and robust control. Subsequent chapters give design techniques and Stability Proofs For NN Controllers For Robot Arms, Practical Robotic systems with high frequency vibratory modes, force control and a general class of non-linear systems. The last chapters are devoted to discrete- time NN controllers. Throughout the text, worked examples are provided.

Book Intelligent Control

Download or read book Intelligent Control written by Nazmul Siddique and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-11-29 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Intelligent Control considers non-traditional modelling and control approaches to nonlinear systems. Fuzzy logic, neural networks and evolutionary computing techniques are the main tools used. The book presents a modular switching fuzzy logic controller where a PD-type fuzzy controller is executed first followed by a PI-type fuzzy controller thus improving the performance of the controller compared with a PID-type fuzzy controller. The advantage of the switching-type fuzzy controller is that it uses one rule-base thus minimises the rule-base during execution. A single rule-base is developed by merging the membership functions for change of error of the PD-type controller and sum of error of the PI-type controller. Membership functions are then optimized using evolutionary algorithms. Since the two fuzzy controllers were executed in series, necessary further tuning of the differential and integral scaling factors of the controller is then performed. Neural-network-based tuning for the scaling parameters of the fuzzy controller is then described and finally an evolutionary algorithm is applied to the neurally-tuned-fuzzy controller in which the sigmoidal function shape of the neural network is determined. The important issue of stability is addressed and the text demonstrates empirically that the developed controller was stable within the operating range. The text concludes with ideas for future research to show the reader the potential for further study in this area. Intelligent Control will be of interest to researchers from engineering and computer science backgrounds working in the intelligent and adaptive control.
