Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive introduction to the mathematical foundations of movement and actuation that apply equally to animals and machines. This textbook offers a computational framework for the sensorimotor stage of development as applied to robotics. Much work in developmental robotics is based on ad hoc examples, without a full computational basis. This book's comprehensive and complete treatment fills the gap, drawing on the principal mechanisms of development in the first year of life to introduce what is essentially an operating system for developing robots. The goal is to apply principles of development to robot systems that not only achieve new levels of performance but also provide evidence for scientific theories of human development.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chapter 6Artificial intelligence and customer service relationshipEssentials of robotic organizational behavioral learningThe importance of management skills is essential, if any organizations hope to raise efficiency or improve performance. Organizations need to learn how to balance hard and soft skill, how to manage social and human skills whch reflect the ability to get along with other people are increasingly important attributes at all levels of management. Managers ought need to spend most time operating between the " hard skills", such as conducting disciplinary matters or how to allocate of budgets, and " soft skills", such as counselling, or giving support and advice to a member of staff. Managers also needed to be trained to raise technical competence, related to specific tasks, how to supervise and train subordinate staffs, and with day-to-day subordinate staff, and with day-to-day operations concerned in the actual production of goods and services; social and human skills relates to interpesonal relationship in working with and through other people, and how to judge to achieve effective teamwork and direction, and leadership of staff to achieve co-ordinated effort to particular situation and flexibilty in adopting the most appropriate style of management, raising conceptual ability in order to view he complexities of the operations of the organization as a whole, including environmental influences. Mc Donald soft skill organizational behaviorIt also involves decision-making skills, relates to the overall making of the organization and to its stragegic planning in long time, such as McDonald restaurant has good strategic management to manage its global branches of franchise restaurants in organizational behavioral view successfully. So, it can attract many investors buy its franchises to learn how to do McDonald fast food restsurants . It's investors number is increasing, due to it has good significant organizational behavior as well as its managers know how to apply " soft skills" and " hard skills" to manage them effectively. So, organizational behavior and organizational performance seems have close relationship. If the organization can build the most effective and efficient organizational behavior, managers know how to manage employee individual behavior, then the performance ought will be improved, even customers won't complaint or feel unsatisfactory easily, they will feel satisfactory to their staffs service performance, such as McDonald fast food restaurant case, global McDonald fast food franchise restaurants eating customers complain bumber is low in general, because instead of their front line service staffs performance and attitude can let them to feel satisfactory,

Book How Robot Influences Organizational Development

Download or read book How Robot Influences Organizational Development written by Johnny Ch Lok and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-05 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Future works change: Automation, employment and productivity⦁How (AI) influences employment Human future " micro to macro" industry trends will be affected business strategy and public policy by (AI) technology. In the future (AI) technology will influence those six themes: productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, the evolution of global financial markets, the economic impact of technology and innovation and urbanization. However, (AI) technology will bring economic benefits of tackling gender inequality, a new global competition, Chinese innovation and digital globalization.Nowadays, advances in robotics artificial intelligence, and machine learning are in a new age of automation, as machines match or outperform human performance in a development to any countries. For example, automation of activities can enable businesses to improve performance by reducing errors and improving quality and speed, and in some cases achieving outcomes that go beyond human capabilities. For example, some research indicated automation could raise productivity growth globally by 0.8 to 1.4 % annually; more than 2,000 work activities across 800 occupations. When less than 5% of all occupations can be automated using demonstrated technologies about 60% of all occupations have at least 30% of constituent activities that could be automated. Many occupations will change that will be automated away: Activities most susceptible to automation involve physical activities, in highly structured and predictable environments, as well as the collection and processing of data. They are most prevalent in manufacturing, accommodation and food service and retail trade and include some middle-skill jobs. For example, such as natural language processing is a key factor. Beyond technical feasibility, the cost of technology competition with labor including skills and supply and demand dynamics, performance benefits including and beyond labor cost savings, and social and regulatory acceptance will be affected by (AI) automation technology. Thus, (AI) automation will impact to influence global employment in those aspects as below: Firstly, assuming that people are displaced by automation will find other employment. The anticipated shift in the activities in the labor force is of a similar order as the long-term shift away from agriculture and decreases in manufacturing share of employment. Both of manufacturing and agriculture industries which would be accompanied by the creation of new types of work not foreseen at the time.Secondly, for business, the performance benefits of automation are relatively clear. Thus, the businessmen have opportunities for their micro economies to benefits from the productivity growth potential and macro economies to benefit to encourage continued progress and innovation, investment and market incentives. At the same time, employers must innovate policies to help workers and institutions adapt to the impact on employment. This will likely include rethinking education and training, income support and safety nets, as well as support for those dislocated, when employees need to leave themselves homes to move to other cities to learn new (AI) automation works. Thus, individuals in the workplace will need to engage move comprehensively with machines as part of their everyday activities, and acquire new skills that will be in demand in the new automation age. Consequently, the scale of shifts in the labor force over many decades that automation technologies can be a similar order to the long -term technology -enables shifts in the developed countries' workforces away from agriculture in the 21 th century. Those shifts did not result in long-term mass unemployment because they were accompanied by the creation of new types of work not foreseen at the time. However, human will still be needed in the workforce when the total productivity gains are caused by (AI) technology.

Book Efficient Using Organizational Resources Strategies

Download or read book Efficient Using Organizational Resources Strategies written by Johnny Ch LOK and published by . This book was released on 2021-04-08 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can Robotic Help Warehouses To Avoid Resource Waste On Behavioral Economic View⦁Behavioral economy view whether robotic can helpwarehouse to avoid time and human resource wasteIN fact, robts are being used in different types manufacturing to create more efficiency with fewer resource. Robots also reduce errors, to leass waste is produced. Less waste is produced and the robots are able to final and separate the small parts more efficiently than human hands can. For example, on environment recycled aspect, robots can help reduce waste that is incinerated by efficiently sorting materials that can be recycled quickly and more efficiently than humans reducing the input poser and cost control with such processes. So, robots can bring positive affect the environment, because robots use less energy and produce less waste. As a whole, there are multiple benefits to using robots to fight climate change,e.g. robots can prevent pollution and emissions through careful monitoring optimize the manaufacturing processes to reduce energy consumption. Moreover, robots can help with recycling, the use of robots allows facility operators some new flexibility. Most technologies used in recycling allow to sort materials. The sensing robots ( sensoes) allow robots to receive information about a certain measurement of the environment , or internal components. This is essential to robots to perform their tasks, and act upon any changes in the environment to calculate the appropriate response.⦁How Amazon warehouse applies logistic robots to helpit to waste resource wasteHence, although robots can take our jobs, because they can help organizations to avoid resource waste, and it can bring negative effect to influence we lose jobs. ON behavorioral economic view, robots can help employers to reduce employees number, but it won't influence organizational overall performance to be worse or inefficiency, such as Amazon warehouse applies logistic robots to assist workers to deliver the right kind of goods to put on every correct shelf number position rapidly every day. Hence, one logistic robot can replace at least 10 store workers to do goods delivery tasks every day, e.g. one store worker needs to spend one minute to find the right kind of good to deliver to prepare to arrange to deliver it to fly to overseas client. Logistic robots only need 10 seconds to find the right kind of goods from the near 200 number shelves in Amazon warehouse as well as they are putting 300 different kinds of goods on these 200 shelves in Amazon warehouse every day.Because each logistic robot has very good memory. Each logistic robot must remember any kinds of goods , their putting number position on which shelf, e.g. when the worker needs to find the model laptop product from 300 different kinds of products,in Amazon warehouse. They are putting on 200 number shelves number following positions. IN general, human worker will need to spend about one minute to find the model of laptop product from these 200 number shelves in warehouse. For example, when one worker needs to find the brand Apple of one laptop product model: PHZ0123, when the warehouse has total 300 diferent kinds of products are putting on total 200 numbers of different shelves positions. Any one Amazon store worker must need to type this Apple brand laptop" Apple" name and its model number" PHZ0123 on the store computer as well as to search its putting on shelf number position from computer. Then, the Amazon store computer will find this laptop product to find its present putting on the correct shelf number position , e.g. 50 number of the shelf positon, or none stock record of all this model PHZ20123 laptop is sold out. So, Amazon store computer must need time to help this store worker to search this laptop product's putting on shelf number position as well as the worker needs time to walk to the right shelf number position to find this laptop product.

Book Robotics Particiaption Brings What Influence to Organizational Performance

Download or read book Robotics Particiaption Brings What Influence to Organizational Performance written by Johnny Ch LOK and published by . This book was released on 2020-07-10 with total page 471 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hence, in the future, robotics can be attempted to participate any sale enquire service to achieve improving sale performance in any shops. It is one important new shop sale communication tool, robotics can replace any salespeople in shop in possible. If they can be participated on salespeople communication task in shop, their communication assistance may help any salespeople to solve any clients' enquiries immediately when the shop has many clients need to enquire any one saleperson, but the shop has no enough salespeopke to answer their enquiries in the same time. So, sale enquiring service robotics will be good assistances to help any salespeople answer their clients' any enquiries in the shop. It can improve sale service performance to any one salesperson in the shop. For example, one restaurant has many eating clients need to find waiters to enquire whether which kinds of food are the best food taste or / and compare which one is the most reasonable price between the different kinds of dinner foods, but the restaurant has no enough waiters to serve them in the same time. If the restaurant can have robotics to serve their eating clients, when they need to enquire which kinds of food are the best taste or the most reasonable dinner price at the night. They can get the robotics' assistance to answer their enquires immediately. Then, the restaurant can sell any kinds of food rapidly when the eating clients can make the final dinner choice after they are given feedback from the serving robotic's recommendation at the night. Anyway, even, robotics can help waiters to deliver food to any eating client's table immediately , when the restaurant has many dishes of foods have already prepared to any one clients in the same time from kitchen, but its any one waiter can not go to kitchen to pick up any dishes of foods immediately. So, robotics' dlivery dishes of food task is very important to help any one busy waiter to deliver food to any any eating client individual table immediately in the same time. So, it seems thatn robotics' participation to the restaurant, its food enquiring and food delivery service tasks will influence the restaurant's overall service performance to let any one eating client's feeling to be influenced to either satisfactory or dissatisfactory. In conclusion, ,it also seems that robotics can participate to any kinds of services in orde to improve any kinds businesses' overall serice performance . They may include : cinema ticker sale service, MTR transport ticket sale service, restaurant waiter food enquiry and food delivery service, shop salesperson individual product enquiry service, hospital food delivery service, shopping center security service or customer enquiry service etc. If any one of these kinds of service can be participated by robotics. Then, I believe that the kind of business's service performance may be important , when manual and robotic both service can be cooperated together to any kinds of service businesses .

Book Investigating the Implementation of Robotics

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research investigates how introducing robots affects individuals and organizations. Data are presented from two field studies at different organizations introducing robots. The studies focus on three questions. First, how do robots affect individual employees including their job activities, motivations, and stress levels? Second, how do robots affect organizational structures and outcomes? Third, how does the implementation process, including methods of communication and participation, affect employee's reactions and the speed of implementation? Data are collected at each organization at several points in time through interviews with a variety of respondents, observations, and records data. Strategies are suggested for both researchers studying the implementation of robots and practitioners introducing robots in their organizations. (Author).

Download or read book How Robots Avoid COVID 19 Disease Negative Social Influences written by Johnny Ch Lok and published by . This book was released on 2021-03-16 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ⦁Why does robot help organizations to shorten time to reach growth life cycle stage or maturity life cycle stage rapidly ?The robotic market is growing rapidly, but adoption of robots and truck products through the manufacturing life-cycle and uses robots to participate any organizational tasks efficiently and effectively. According to a new study from Oxford Economics, economists predict that robots could take over 20 million manufacturing jobs around the world by 2030, and within the next 11 years. These could be 14 million robots put to work in China alone. So, such as developing country, China, many China employers will accept robots to help their organizations to do different kinds of simple or complex tasks, also clerical or non-clerical workers, they can concentrate on dealing to do their urgent tasks, it means that efficiency will be possible raised in performance will be improved, productive number may be influenced to increase. Robots may help the experiencing birth life cycke stage organizations to shorten time to reach growth life cycle syahe or the experiencing the growth life cycle stage organizations to shorten time to reach mature life cycle stage in possible, because their clerical or non-clerical staffs need to learn how to dominate or control robots to work in order to achieve raising efficiency aim. When these organizations' every department has robots to participate to do simple or complex tasks. In long time., robots may help workers to shorten time to finish any tasks in any task processing or step. When working time is shorten to every task's step, then productivies and efficiencies willl be also raised. SO, such as this China developing country's future experiencing birth or growth life cycle stage organizations case, if there are many these birth or growth life cycle stage China's business organizations decided to apply robots to assist non-clerical and clerical workers to do simple or comples tasks. Then, their working steps or procesess time will be shorten . So, that efficiency or performance can be improved. Even if in developing country China's hospital organizations can apply surgical robots to assist surgeons or doctors to do any complex or simple surgeon health care will still likely become more automated . Because China has high population, so patients' medical need must be high, just as robots can transport and deliver goods in manufacturing and retail, they can also move medicine and equipment through hospitals when doctos and burses focus on other tasks. So, robots can help future any hospital organizations to improve service level to satisfy patients' needs in China's hospitals. Moreover, robots can improve developing countries, e.g. China, India patients' life. One of the most popular ways robots help doctors is by performing surgery or making operations easier. These machines make it in easier to see into a patient's body and repair problemshave been receptive to robots in the operating room and appreciate their precision countries, such as India, China their experiencing birth or growth life cycle stage organizations can continue to enhance technology like 3D embedded vision, multispectral, and hypesspectral imaging. This combined with artificial intelligence and deep learning wil empower industrial robots to improve themselves and keep pace with the human workers around them. A BCG analysis found the using advanced robots can reduce conversion costs by up to 15% and robot adoption will likely be a critical determinant of appreciable enable shorten. Robot adoption will likely be a critical determinant of appear to enable shorten production runs, smaller factories and the need for faster productivity growth. As robot production has increased, costs have gone down .

Book Human Human vs Human Robot Collaboration

Download or read book Human Human vs Human Robot Collaboration written by Lin Liu and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2019-03-07 with total page 51 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bachelor Thesis from the year 2019 in the subject Engineering - Industrial Engineering and Management, grade: 1,0, Vienna University of Technology, language: English, abstract: The research question of this thesis is: What relevant factors exist that enables humans and robots to collaborate most successfully to ensure optimal process-based workflows? Human-robot collaboration is a fairly new field of research, and for this reason, there has been barely shed light upon this topic up to today. Thus, the purpose of this work is to investigate and analyze which factors have an impact on the collaborative work of humans. Subsequently, based on this analysis of the relevant parameters, implications can be made for human-robot collaborations to ensure optimal work settings to facilitate effective teaming. The development of modern industrial robots is advancing year by year. Currently robots are more precise, faster and more powerful than ever before. However, despite these advancements, it is still unlikely that robots will reach the dexterity and intelligence of humans anytime soon. Therefore, at least for the foreseeable future, humans remain irreplaceable in many assembly operations. Still, this does not imply that humans and robots cannot benefit each other. On the contrary, combining the strengths of each individual creates new opportunities for collaboration and collaborative work. Robots exhibit high precision and repeatability, can handle heavy loads and operate without performance deterioration, even in difficult or dangerous environments. However, robot control systems quickly reach their limits in recognizing and handling unpredictable situations and uncertainties in their environment, which are normally no problem for humans. This is mainly due to the ability of humans to tackle unexpected obstacles, their awareness of a much larger part of the environment than formally declared and lastly humans show more dexterity in complex or sensitive tasks. Despite that humans are more prone to error, stress or fatigue, and their employment underlies strict health and safety regulations. Robots that interact with human beings are called collaborative robots or cobots for short. The goal of this very human-robot collaboration is not to replace the human but rather to create opportunities for humans and robots to work together towards a common aim by mutually increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of their team performance. This, for example, can be achieved by employing robots in sectors where manual labor is predominant.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the importance of work in human well-being, addressing several related philosophical questions about work and arguing on the whole that meaningful work is central in human flourishing. Work impacts flourishing not only in developing and exercising human capabilities but also in instilling and reflecting virtues such as honor, pride, dignity, self-discipline and self-respect. Work also attaches to a sense of purposefulness and personal identity, and meaningful work can promote both personal autonomy and a sense of personal satisfaction that issues from making oneself useful. Further still, work bears a formative influence on character and intelligence and provides a primary avenue for exercising complex skills and garnering esteem and recognition from others. The author defends a pluralistic account of meaningful work, arguing that work can be meaningful in virtue of developing capabilities, supporting virtues, providing a purpose, or integrating elements of a worker's life. In light of the impact of meaningful work on living well, the author argues that well-ordered societies provide opportunities for meaningful work, that individuals would be well advised to pursue these opportunities, and that the philosophical view of value pluralism, which casts work as having no special significance in an individual's life, is false. The book also addresses oppressive work that undermines human flourishing, examining potential solutions to mitigate the impact of bad work on those who perform it. Finally, a guiding argument of the book is that promoting meaningful work is a matter of ethics, more so than a matter of politics. Prioritizing people over profit, treating workers with respect, respecting the intelligence of working people, and creating opportunities for people to contribute developed skills are basic ethical principles for employing organizations and for communities at large.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Redefining management inthe workforce of artificial intelligence⦁Change management In the future, due to artificial intelligence influences to some kind of human jobs nature. So, the kind of human jobs of management methods will also need to change to adapt the artificial intelligence technology input to their organizations. It will cause challenges for every executive and manager if who won't have effort to manage their teams how to apply artificial intelligence technology to work efficiently and easily. For example, division of labor will change among humans and machines will increase. Thus, companies will have to adapt their training performance and talent strategies how to emphasize on work that how to make human judgment and skills and experimentation. Thus, (IA)'s greatest impact will be on administrative coordination and control tasks, such as scheduling, resource allocation. In fact, mangers will encounter this challenges: How to apply human experience and expertise to judge critical business decisions and practices when the information available is insufficient to suggest a successful course of action? Due to this kind of work will require new skills and mindsets. I shall indicate these change management methods to adapt (AI) technology. Such as: administration and routine tasks, scheduling, allocation of resources and reporting will fall within the intelligence machines, responsibilities that have long been reserved for humans. For example, a typical store manager or a lead nurse at a nursing home most constantly arrange shift schedules, accounting for staff members' absences owing to illness, vacation time or sudden departures. Thus, the managers need to learn how to arrange new division of labor within the organizations after (AI) technology had been implemented to the organization. Artificial intelligence is currently influencing into once considered exclusive to humans: assessing and acting on human emotions and personality traits. The influences to managers need to change their strategies to adapt (AI) technology implements include such as below: Firstly, managers need to spend the bulk of their time on coordination and control tasks from intelligent system implements. Their time spending on these major three aspects from impact of intelligent system: coordinate and control, solve problems and collaborate and people and community, strategy and innovation three aspects. Thus (AI) will influence managers need to change their judgment method to teach whose teams how to adapt the (AI) system operations in any organizations.Secondly, (AI) will influence top, middle and low level management needs to change to adapt the (AI) technology operations to any owned (AI) technology organizations in the future. Intelligent machines must be trained in context. Just like humans, on-the-job training is a requirement for such machines because they typically arrive with only very general capabilities. To get the most from (AI), managers at all levels must participate in the instructional experience and in the learning process and provides managers' familiarity with such systems on these aspects, e.g. How the system works and generate advice, how the system has a proven track record, how the system provides convincing explanations, how the system can make simple rule- based decisions.Thirdly, managers need to learn how to make judgment more accurate (AI) systems assistance. Although (AI) will invariably take on more routine work and even augment human decision-making, it won't judgment work, the application of human experience and expertise to critical business decisions when the information available is insufficient to suggest a successful course of action or reliable enough to suggest an obvious course of action.
