Book excerpt: How did China undergo its meteoric rise from a technological backwater into a military superpower in outer space? This amazing transition began in top secret US Air Force programs over 75 years ago! While living in America, a brilliant Chinese scientist is chosen to work on the US military's most classified technologies for over a decade. Suddenly, he is outlandishly targeted by the FBI, traded in a prisoner exchange by President Eisenhower and must return to China. This episode ultimately led to China's development of a military-run secret space program (SSP) using exotic electromagnetic propulsion systems now challenging US military dominance on Earth and in outer space. By 2030, China's economy will outgrow the US, and China plans to use its vast economic resources to project its presence deep into space in ways that will lead to increasing military confrontations with the newly created US Space Force. In this book, you will learn about: - The origins of China's SSP through the pioneering work of Dr. Tsien Hsue-shen who brought his advanced knowledge of SSPs in Nazi Germany and the US to China;- How ancient aviation technologies buried in China's mysterious pyramids are being secretly studied and reverse engineered;- Ancient artifacts from extraterrestrial contacts in remote regions of Tibet, the Gobi Desert, and the truth behind legends of Shamballa and Agartha;- China's participation in a United Nations run SSP designed to foster greater international cooperation in responding to the existence of extraterrestrial life;- The space weapons and electromagnetically propelled spacecraft secretly being developed and deployed by China;- The threat posed by Communist China's plan to use Artificial Intelligence to become the dominant superpower on Earth and in Space. The Rise of the Red Dragon represents both a global crisis and opportunity presented by China. Are the US and China destined to violently clash in an inevitable cataclysmic space war or are they to become strategic partners in guiding humanity's peaceful transition into a space faring galactic civilization?

Book excerpt: Behind the acupuncture, herbal remedies and sophisticated diagnostics of Chinese medicine lies a "congenial system of healing that embodies unification of body and mind, spirit and matter, nature and man, philosophy and reality." In this comprehensive and ground-breaking presentation, based on long experience as physician, psychiatrist, and practitioner of Chinese medicine, Leon Hammer offers a new model for appreciating the traditional healer's effective and profound respect for individual integrity and energetic balance. Explaining, and moving beyond, the five phase (element) system, he shows that this Eastern practice is as much a spiritual science as a physical one. Accessible to the layman, yet a resource for the professional in any healing art, this book examines the natural energy functions of the human organism as a key to mental, emotional and spiritual health. It offers new insight into disease, showing how it is not merely an invasion from the outside, but rather a byproduct of a person's unsuccessful attempt to restore one's own balance.

Book excerpt: The Red Dragon is SNEAKY. The Red Dragon is GREEDY. The Red Dragon is a BULLY. He started using his powers to sneak up on other dragons back in a time long ago, when dragons reigned over the earth. Then he stole their treasures and eventually scared all of them away. After that, he turned his attention to the human world and did the same, but with twists and turns along the way. Even nowadays, the Red Dragon appears, here and there, to do his dastardly deeds. No one knows when or where he'll show up next! Will people discover his true identity in time?Like the Red Dragon, this legend sneaks up on the reader. It may seem like a tale for young children. And it certainly starts like a simple story for the very young. But it is intended for readers of all ages and becomes more intriguing with the turn of each new page. This legend offers ways to spot red dragons among us -- to see bullying in its various forms, to understand what drives it and how to handle it. The Rise of the Red Dragon is a legend that uses allegory to explain bullying on a personal level that children can understand. It exposes it throughout history on political and economic levels, as well. Bullying exists in our time on many fronts. This legend can aid parents in helping their young children to understand and deal with it. It can also aid them in discussing the issue with older children and other adults as it plays out within the current dynamics of the world around us. Through the legend of the Red Dragon, Tierney teaches children and adults alike about the perils of the current geopolitical situation. His fantastic fable provides opportunities for adults and children to discuss bullying, greed, and injustice in their many forms.

Book Return of the Dragon

Download or read book Return of the Dragon written by Denny Roy and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2013-07-02 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite China's effort to maintain peace with its neighbors, its military and economic growth poses an undeniable threat. Regional states must account for a more powerful potential adversary in China, and China has become more ambitious in its efforts to control its surroundings. Historical baggage has only aggravated the situation as China believes it is reclaiming its rightful place after a time of weakness and mistreatment, and other Asia-Pacific countries remember all too well their encounter with Chinese conflict and domination. Through a careful consideration of historical factors and raw data, Denny Roy examines the benefits and consequences of a more politically, economically, and militarily potent China. Since China's intended sphere of influence encroaches on the autonomy of regional states, its attempts to increase its own security have weakened the security of its neighbors. Nevertheless, there is little incentive for Beijing to change a status quo that is mostly good for China, and the PRC thrives through its participation in the global economy and multilateral institutions. Even so, Beijing remains extremely sensitive to challenges to the Chinese Communist Party's legitimacy and believes it is entitled to exercise influence on its periphery. On these issues, nationalism trumps any reluctance to upset the international system. Diplomatic disputes regarding the islands in the South China Sea, as well as controversial relations with North Korea, continue to undermine Chinese promises of positive behavior. Roy's study reveals the dynamics defining this volatile region, in which governments pursue China as an economic partner yet fear Beijing's power to set the rules of engagement.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No nation on Earth is as newsworthy as 21st-century China—and no book could be timelier than Dragon Rising, as world attention focuses on China's all-out effort to present itself as a modern world power and on the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Becker is the ideal guide to the profound changes within China that are reshaping global economic, diplomatic, and military strategies. He weaves analysis with anecdotes to address today's pressing uncertainties: How will China cope with pollution, unemployment, and demand for energy? What form will its government take? Can Shanghai's success with urban capitalism be replicated elsewhere? Each chapter focuses on a specific region and its local issues—minority unrest, poverty, corruption—then places them in the broader context of China society as a whole. Vividly illustrated with photographs that capture the paradox of an ancient culture remaking itself into a dynamic consumer society, Dragon Rising is a wonderfully written, well-rounded, wide-ranging portrait of China's problems and prospects.
