Book Report of the FAO Workshop on Risk based Fish Rejection at Borders Rome 30 October to 1 November 2019

Download or read book Report of the FAO Workshop on Risk based Fish Rejection at Borders Rome 30 October to 1 November 2019 written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2020-12-15 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The FAO workshop on risk-based fish inspection at borders was held to understand the key food safety standard compliance challenges when exporting fishery and aquaculture products; in doing so, it sought to guide future FAO work in the area of trade facilitation. Available data from some of the main importing countries was presented during the event and the differences between the rejection profiles analysed. Participating countries presented their food safety regulation frameworks, which provide the basis – as well as the authority – to operate a food import control system designed to protect consumers and facilitate fair practices in food trade. Participants explained how their respective import food control systems provided the level of protection deemed appropriate by the country, establishing safety measures that protected human life or health within a country’s territory. Participants recommended the application of risk-based imported fish controls and provided a set of recommendations to improve the reporting of import rejections, as well as recommendations to improve data analysis.

Book Research Basins and Hydrological Planning

Download or read book Research Basins and Hydrological Planning written by R.Z. Xi and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2004-10-14 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the 20th century, water management focused on the local scale of interest. In the 21st century we will be facing changes in the quantity of our water cycle. The forces behind these new challenges are industrialisation, population growth and an insufficiently swift response to climatic change. The magnitude and distribution of global changes are not exactly predictable, because we live in an ever-changing environment and are faced with extreme and interacting processes, which all are not yet sufficiently understood. Therefore, to shoulder this task, hydrology should embrace more integrative and interdisciplinary approaches and achieve more flexibility in assessments and decisions. To better confront this challenge, catchment-related solutions are more important than local solutions, to satisfy the water demand of agriculture, ecosystems, industry and the private sector. It is wise to keep in mind that the environment has a "sustainable memory" and our knowledge about attenuation capacities and resilience of the environment is still low.

Book International GAAP 2016

Download or read book International GAAP 2016 written by Ernst & Young LLP and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2015-12-21 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: IFRSs, the standards set by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), are complex and sometimes obscure. Understanding their implications and applying them appropriately requires something special; and that is why International GAAP 2016 is the essential tool for anyone applying, auditing, interpreting, regulating, studying and teaching international financial reporting. It provides expert interpretation and practical guidance for busy professionals, and includes, in every chapter, detailed analysis of how complex financial reporting problems can be resolved appropriately and effectively. The International Financial Reporting Group of Ernst & Young includes financial reporting specialists from throughout the world. Complex technical accounting issues are explained clearly in a practical working context that enables immediate understanding of the point at issue. International GAAP 2016 is the only globally focused work on IFRSs. It is not constrained by any individual country's legislation or financial reporting regulations, and it ensures an international consistency of approach unavailable elsewhere. It shows how difficult practical issues should be approached in the complex, global world of international financial reporting, where IFRSs have become the accepted financial reporting system in more than 100 countries. This integrated approach provides a unique level of authoritative material for anyone involved in preparing, interpreting or auditing company accounts, for regulators, academic researchers and for all students of accountancy. All aspects of the detailed requirements of IFRS are dealt with on a topic-by-topic basis. Each chapter of International GAAP 2016 deals with a key area of IFRS and has a common structure for ease of use: • An introduction to the background issues • An explanation of relevant principles • A clear exposition of the requirements of IFRS • A discussion of the implications in practice and possible alternative solutions available • Worked examples • Extracts from real company accounts • A full listing of the required disclosures
