Their sacrifices, along with the hardships they faced, are incomparable. Nevertheless we faced our own challenges in completing our pilgrimage; Yet, just as it was a century earlier, the triumphs outweighed the trials.

He was a man with a real sense of duty to his country, courageous in battle and highly regarded by his men.
