Book Frontiers in Cardiovascular Health

Download or read book Frontiers in Cardiovascular Health written by Naranjan S. Dhalla and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 587 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Frontiers in Cardiovascular Health varies between and within nations, depend ing upon the level at which the battle is fought for better cardiovascular health. According to the 1997 World Health Report, 15 million deaths (i. e. 30% of the total number of deaths) were attributable to cardiovascular diseases and this number is on the rise. The projection for the year 2020 is quite alarming with an expected cardiovascular mortality reaching 50 million. Much of this burden is projected to occur in developing countries, more specifically in the most populous countries of the world, namely China and India. These countries are already burdened with infectious and parasitic diseases and are trying to eradicate such diseases. With increasing life expectancies people all over the world, especially in developing coun tries, are exposed to degenerative atherosclerosis resulting in increased cardiovascu lar mortality and morbidity. In developing countries, resources available for health care are very limited. For example many of the African countries spend less than $10 per person per year on his/her entire health care let alone cardiovascular health. The average health care budget for nearly two thirds of the global population is well below $100 per year, on a per capita basis. Therefore, in developing countries health promotion and primary prevention are the frontiers by necessity. Improving awareness and health education is not only a matter of choice but is an absolute necessity.

Download or read book Asymptomatic Atherosclerosis written by Morteza Naghavi and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-07-01 with total page 712 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of symptomatic atherosclerosis, available traditional screening methods for early detection and treatment of asymptomatic coronary artery disease are grossly insufficient and fail to identify the majority of victims prior to the onset of a life-threatening event. In Asymptomatic Atherosclerosis: Pathophysiology, Detection and Treatment, Dr. Morteza Naghavi and leading authorities from the Society for Heart Attack Prevention and Eradication (SHAPE) present a new paradigm for the screening and primary prevention of asymptomatic atherosclerosis. The text focuses on accurate, yet underutilized, measures of subclinical atherosclerosis, notably coronary artery calcium scanning and carotid intima-media thickness measurement. The authors introduce a comprehensive approach to identifying the vulnerable patients (asymptomatic individuals at risk of a near future adverse event). Additional chapters discuss future directions towards containing the epidemic of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease using innovative solutions such as preemptive interventional therapies (bioabsorbable stents) for stabilization of vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques, mass unconditional Polypill therapy for population-based risk reduction, and ultimately vaccination strategies to prevent the development of atherosclerosis. Up-to-date and authoritative, Asymptomatic Atherosclerosis: Pathophysiology, Detection, and Treatment is a must-have for any cardiologist or primary care physician who wishes to practice modern preventive cardiology and manage the increasing number of asymptomatic atherosclerotic patients. Outlines more accurate measures of risk (coronary artery calcium and carotid intima-media thickness) than traditional risk factors (total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol) Presents new multipronged strategies to aid in the early detection and treatment of high risk asymptomatic patients

Download or read book 30 Day Journal Tracker written by Health Formation and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-20 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After relentlessly studying the teachings of legendary healers, such as Dr Arnold Ehret and Dr Robert Morse, we set out on a journey of healing ourselves and reversing our very own conditions. Within our group, we were suffering from a range of diverse diseases and conditions, including Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, Diabetes, a variety of Autoimmune Diseases and Leaky Gut. During our healing journeys, we formed a journal that we would use on a daily basis, and this helped us to incorporate all of the lessons and tips that we had learnt and refined along the way - in short, it acted as a check list. It was important to us to not miss out on any knowledge and practices that had served us well. This journal is designed to guide and support you through your own journey with the core healing protocols included within its theme. One of the key conclusions that we reached through our individual journeys was that whether you are a sufferer of Atherosclerosis, or any other condition, the same protocol that we used applies. However, dependant on the severity of your Atherosclerosis, you may need to follow the protocols for longer, using specific herbs in order to achieve positive results, but you can make your own adjustments as you learn more. The great news is that all information and resources are readily available for personal study and application. Dr Arnold Ehret's books can be downloaded freely if you search for "arnold ehret books pdf". Visit rawfigs.com for Dr Robert Morse videos which can be searched through by keywords via the search bar. With this journal and your newly acquired knowledge, we trust that you will also soon start to experience the positive results that we did, along with the many others that send us regular positive feedback. We wish you all the best. The Health Formation Team
