Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hypertension or high blood pressure is the number one killer worldwide. It is a disease of pandemic proportion, affecting more and more people worldwide. Hypertension is the number one cause of heart attack and stroke, and it's poorly controlled worldwide. Recent World Health Report by World Health Organization (WHO) gives us an alarming information, it says "Overall, approximately 20% of the world's adults are estimated to have hypertension. The prevalence dramatically increases in patients older than 60 years: In many countries, 50% of individuals in this age group (60+) have hypertension. Worldwide, approximately 1 billion people have hypertension, contributing to more than 7.1 million deaths per year". Now the good news. Hypertension or high blood pressure is very easy to keep in control. And with proper control, it's a normal condition. You don't need expensive programs, a lot of medicine or a big chunk of your time to keep hypertension in check. Following a simple routine can make it possible.IMPORTANTI have another book on hypertension "High Blood Pressure: Control with and Without Medicine" available in Amazon. The content of this book is similar because the subject is same. Keep in mind that if you have purchased "High Blood Pressure: Control with and Without Medicine" then you may not buy this book.

Book The Hypertension Solution

Book excerpt: High Blood Pressure, medically known as Hypertension, is one of the most prevalent health issues affecting a person's quality of life and longevity. When blood pressure is high undue pressure is placed on artery walls. This forces the heart to pump harder than normal to circulate blood throughout the body. Undiagnosed and/or untreated high blood pressure can put you at risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and other life-threatening diseases-the leading causes of death in the United States. While prescription medications can effectively reduce your blood pressure, and are effective at saving lives, they do not address the root causes of hypertension. As such, if you follow this therapy and make no other changes in your life, you will forever have to rely on prescription medication to keep your blood pressure under control. And once you stop taking the drugs, your blood pressure will again rise. Please take hold of your situation and make the necessary lifestyle changes required to reverse and prevent this potentially life-threatening condition. The Hypertension Solution offers real strategies you can embrace to eradicate from your life the ill-effects of unresolved high blood pressure. Book Your Guide to Lowering Your Blood Pressure with Dash

Download or read book Your Guide to Lowering Your Blood Pressure with Dash written by U. S. Department Human Services and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012-07-09 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book by the National Institutes of Health (Publication 06-4082) and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute provides information and effective ways to work with your diet because what you choose to eat affects your chances of developing high blood pressure, or hypertension (the medical term). Recent studies show that blood pressure can be lowered by following the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating plan-and by eating less salt, also called sodium. While each step alone lowers blood pressure, the combination of the eating plan and a reduced sodium intake gives the biggest benefit and may help prevent the development of high blood pressure. This book, based on the DASH research findings, tells how to follow the DASH eating plan and reduce the amount of sodium you consume. It offers tips on how to start and stay on the eating plan, as well as a week of menus and some recipes. The menus and recipes are given for two levels of daily sodium consumption-2,300 and 1,500 milligrams per day. Twenty-three hundred milligrams is the highest level considered acceptable by the National High Blood Pressure Education Program. It is also the highest amount recommended for healthy Americans by the 2005 "U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans." The 1,500 milligram level can lower blood pressure further and more recently is the amount recommended by the Institute of Medicine as an adequate intake level and one that most people should try to achieve. The lower your salt intake is, the lower your blood pressure. Studies have found that the DASH menus containing 2,300 milligrams of sodium can lower blood pressure and that an even lower level of sodium, 1,500 milligrams, can further reduce blood pressure. All the menus are lower in sodium than what adults in the United States currently eat-about 4,200 milligrams per day in men and 3,300 milligrams per day in women. Those with high blood pressure and prehypertension may benefit especially from following the DASH eating plan and reducing their sodium intake.

Even when hypertension is diagnosed, treatment is usually based on drugs, most with dismal side effects, expensive, and of limited usefulness. Book The High Blood Pressure Solution

Download or read book The High Blood Pressure Solution written by Richard D. Moore and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2001-05-01 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • Proves that the majority of cases of stroke, heart attack, and hypertension can easily be prevented by maintaining the proper ratio of potassium to sodium in the diet. • Updated with scientific evidence from a recent Finnish study showing a 60 percent decline in deaths attributed to strokes and heart attacks. • Provides a comprehensive program for balancing body chemistry at the cellular level. High blood pressure is entirely preventable, without reliance on synthetic drugs. Dr. Moore's approach is simple: by maintaining the proper ratio of potassium to sodium in the diet, blood pressure can be regulated at the cellular level, preventing the development of hypertension and the high incidence of strokes and heart attacks associated with it. Dr. Moore updates this edition with a new preface reporting on the latest scientific research in support of his program. The most striking results come from Finland, where for several decades sodium chloride has been replaced nationwide with a commercial sodium/potassium mixture, resulting in a 60 percent decline nationwide in deaths attributed to strokes and heart attacks. Extrapolated to America, the Finnish statistics would mean 360,000 strokes prevented and 96,000 lives saved every year. Dr. Moore makes it clear that high blood pressure is only one symptom of an entire systemic imbalance. He outlines a safe, effective program that focuses on nutrition, weight loss, and exercise to bring the entire body chemistry into balance. For those currently taking blood pressure medications, he includes a chapter on working with your physician to ensure that any reduction in hypertension drugs can be effected gradually and safely.

Book Reversing Heart Disease High Blood Pressure and Blocked Arteries

Download or read book Reversing Heart Disease High Blood Pressure and Blocked Arteries written by Peter Dingle and published by . This book was released on 2014-05-01 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book began with the sobering facts of how many people die and suffer from cardiovascular disease and the material presented here has demonstrated that they don't have to do so. With more than 1,000 studies--and studies of studies--it is clear that the medical system is broken and that we are the ones suffering while the medical system does little to help our health. There is no need for the pain, suffering and death that results from these diseases and there is no need for the vast majority of the medications doled out to us. The medications are not just useless; they are deadly. Undoubtedly the greatest challenge we face today is not cardiovascular disease but the underlying cancer of the medical and pharmaceutical systems that put profit before people. However, the science shows that by changing our diet, environment, attitude and lifestyle (DEAL) we can not only dramatically reduce our risk of all forms of cardiovascular disease (and other chronic illnesses) but also reverse these conditions. There is overwhelming scientific evidence, thousands more studies than I have provided here, that an integrated approach to your health, like the DEAL, works. This information provides you with the opportunity to lead a much healthier and happier life. But you are the one who needs to do something about it. Information is great but unless you take action it means nothing. The power to lead a healthier life is in your hands. Take action now. Don't wait. I began this book by describing Occam's razor. The information presented in this book is not just a list of the simpler solutions; they are the ones that work. The current system has to change. The change has already begun, and doctors need to decide whether to go with it or be left behind. This was summed up by one of the doctors attending an environmental and nutritional medicine seminar some years ago. When asked why he was there, his response was, My patients were going to other practitioners and they were getting well and I wanted to know what they were doing. So I'm here. Health is like banking: the more you invest in it now the more you have later, with interest. It is time to start investing in your health, beginning now.
