Book Prophet Come Out of Your Cave

Download or read book Prophet Come Out of Your Cave written by Michael T. Bacon and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2014-06-26 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prophet, Come Out of Your Cave dives headfirst into the real-world struggles and purpose of those that feel they are called to be God's chosen prophets. In a world so tainted by sin and destruction by the enemy attacking and chasing prophets out of the body of Christ, Prophet Come Out of Your Cave reveals the schemes and strategies that Satan uses to silence God's prophets. "Satan and his demons will use any weapon they can get their hands on to discourage, stop, or even destroy the prophet. If he cannot stop the prophet from doing God's work, he will even resort to setting the prophet up to fall into sin or discredit their ministry somehow. He often uses addictions, offenses, rejection, abandonment, threats, misunderstandings, and divisions to destroy the prophet." "God is calling His prophets out of their caves. He is calling His prophets to take their positions." Praise for Prophet Come Out of Your Cave: "Michael Bacon's book, Prophet Come Out of Your Cave, is a very timely book. It is a book that I totally recommend for the Body of Christ, especially those involved in the five-fold ministry or in intercession. I would encourage you to read with spiritual ears and eyes and not from a denominational filter. I believe this book will awaken hearts to move from the old wineskin to a new wineskin. Whenever you have a move of the Holy Spirit, you will always have counterfeits appear; but God is raising up His true tribe that will be taught, trained and released. Michael Bacon has a heart for the body of Christ to be transformed and renewed in wisdom and revelation." -Rev. Solomon J. Buckley, Overseer/Director of Fresh Wind International Missions Base

Book Apocalypse of Moses

  • Publisher : Scriptural Research Institute
  • Release : 2019-10-10
  • ISBN : 1989604153
  • Pages : 62 pages

Download or read book Apocalypse of Moses written by Scriptural Research Institute and published by Scriptural Research Institute. This book was released on 2019-10-10 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Apocalypse of Moses is the Greek version of the Life of Adam and Eve. The original version is believed to have been written in a Semitic language, as there as terms transliterated into Greek from a Semitic language, however, it is not known positively which language, as the original text is lost, and so far, no fragments have been found among the Dead Sea Scrolls that can be firmly linked to it. The closest text discovered to date among the Dead Sea Scrolls would be the Genesis Apocryphon scroll, written in Aramaic and generally dated to between 37 BC to 50 AD. The original language of the Apocalypse of Moses was likely also Aramaic, as demonstrated by the use of the name Iah (Jah), which is found more commonly in Aramaic language books, like Tobit. A number of references circumstantially date the original work to the era when the Greeks ruled Judea, between 330 and 140 BC. The reference to Iah is itself evidence of a pre-Hasmonean origin, as the Hasmoneans’ authorized’ version of the Hebrew texts appear to have redacted Iah (יה) to Yahweh (יהוה) when they converted the Jews from the Canaanite (Samaritan/Paleo-Hebrew) script to the Assyrian (Hebrew) script. The name Iah (Jah) does show up in many ancient names, such as Josiah, and phrases such as Hallelujah, implying it was once widely accepted as the name of (a) God, however, virtually disappeared from the Hebrew scriptures at some point, likely during the Hasmonean redaction and standardization circa 140 BC. The reference to Lord Sabaoth (κυρίῳ σαβαωθ) is another indicator of a pre-Hasmonean origin for the text. Lord Sabaoth was the Major-General of the Lord God’s army that helped Joshua destroy the walls of Jericho in the Septuagint’s Book of Joshua. There are many references to Lord Sabaoth, the ‘Lord of War’ in the Greek era, however, during the early Hasmonean era, he became an epitaph of Iaw (Yahweh) the national God of Hasmonean Judea: Iaw Sabaoth (יהוה צבאות). The Hasmoneans redacted Lord Sabaoth from the Book of Joshua, replacing him with Yahweh (יהוה), meaning that Yahweh was the Major-General of his own army in the Masoretic version of Joshua. According to later-Hasmonean records, Yahweh Sabaoth became the Jewish version of Dionysus or Bacchus, a god of war, wine, and lust, before he was abandoned during the formation of the Pharisee sect, who rejected the pronunciation of any of the names of God.

Download or read book The Apocalyptic Heart written by Ron Browning and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2015-05-19 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is the book of Revelation the biblical book for the twentieth-first century due to the growing interest in apocalyptic? A fresh approach is needed to help access its symbolic mysteries, an approach that avoids fundamentalist, literal interpretation and the tendency in liberal thinking to doubt that God will act decisively in the future in some way. These meditations take us far and wide in an understanding of Christian apocalyptic thought--from the lived faith of refugee and oppressed communities, to traditions of the Orthodox Church. Emphasized throughout is a direction in modern scholarship that sees the catastrophes described in Revelation as symbolic of events that are already happening in the course of world history. It presents the bringing of the era to its end because of the victory of Christ over evil, which is to be finally vanquished with universal judgment and glorious consummation in store. The unfolding work of God's justice is displayed. Fellowship with the martyrs, the servants of the Lamb, is of special significance. The Apocalyptic Heart traces these themes based on particular moments in the text of Revelation and explores their meaning for the present.

Book excerpt: Each Christmas, adults and children alike delight at the story of the kings from the East who followed the star to Bethlehem to offer gifts to the newborn Christ. While this familiar tale is recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, another little-known version later emerged that claimed to be the eyewitness account of the wise men. This ancient manuscript has lain hidden for centuries in the vaults of the Vatican Library, but through the determined persistence of a young scholar, Brent Landau, this astonishing discovery has been translated into English for the very first time as the Revelation of the Magi. Everything we know about the wise men is based on only a few verses from the Bible. With the Revelation of the Magi, we can now read the story from the Magi's perspective. Readers will learn of the Magi's prophecies of God's incarnation from the beginning of time, their startling visitation in the form of a star, the teachings they receive from the baby Jesus, and the wise men's joyous return to their homeland to spread the good news. This ancient version of the Christmas story is guaranteed to astonish and delight. It will also raise larger questions of the significance and meaning of Christ's birth, and the mission to spread the good news to every corner of the globe. All the drama and intrigue of the brief description of Jesus's birth in the Bible is filled out in greater, more colorful detail, offering for the first time the complete story of these beloved characters.

Book Lexham Geographic Commentary on Acts Through Revelation

Download or read book Lexham Geographic Commentary on Acts Through Revelation written by Barry J. Beitzel and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2019 Biblical Foundations Book Award Finalist in Biblical Theology Walking in the footsteps of the Apostles. The Lexham Geographic Commentary on Acts through Revelation puts readers in the sandals of the Apostles as they travel throughout the Mediterranean, explaining the geographical setting for the spread of Christianity in the first century. Geography is a central concern throughout the writings of Paul and the Apostles, but the full significance of its geographical context is easily overlooked without a familiarity with the places, the types of transportation, the relative distances, and the travel conditions around the ancient Mediterranean. Luke's account mentions places from all over the known world, and Paul's missionary travels covered an estimated 15,000 miles by land and sea. The Lexham Geographic Commentary gives you insight into the importance of all of these locations--both culturally and spatially--and provides a deeper understanding of the spread of early Christianity.

Download or read book Revelation written by Gerald L. Stevens and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2014-05-08 with total page 669 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This three-part study covers the history of interpretation, theological foundations, and exegesis. Copious illustrations from the author's worldwide travels enhance discussion of Rome's emperors, empire, and ideology as the premier horizon for understanding John's immediate context and meaning. Distinctive contributions include Stevens's effort to re-canonize Revelation by insisting on gospel concord, methodically interpreting all of Revelation through the lens of the seven churches and showing how Revelation's imagery consistently relates more to the incarnation than the Parousia. Stevens bypasses traditional millennial options to argue that Revelation is passion-millennial--the passion of Jesus predicates the passion of the church. Under Stevens's hands, Revelation becomes eminently sensible to the original audience and powerfully pertinent for today's church.

Book Abingdon New Testament Commentaries Revelation

Download or read book Abingdon New Testament Commentaries Revelation written by Leonard L. Thompson and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this lucid exposition, an acclaimed interpreter shows that the book of Revelation is to be read as a unified work of religious poetry aimed at extricating Christians from Roman society, in which they were living quietly and peacefully. Thompson considers connections between John’s negative view of society and his social location as a wandering prophet, compares his visionary experience with that of other prophets and seers, especially in Judaism, notes similarities between the depictions of Christ and Satan in Revelation and portraits of heroes and demons in other writings of the time, and emphasizes that John’s vision of heaven and the future were intended to infuse everyday Christian life with confidence in the goodness and ultimate triumph of God. “Thompson’s commentary on Revelation is written in an engaging literary style and, by presenting perceptive comparisons and contrasts with both Greco-Roman and Jewish literature—canonical and non-canonical—he highlights the distinctive features of this book. He deals effectively with the rhetorical and even the epistemological dimensions, while offering an illuminating and convincing proposal for the structure and thematic development of Revelation. In short, it is a most revealing and insightful analysis of this challenging early Christian writing, as it shows how this book addresses perennial human questions about divine purpose and human destiny.” –-Howard Clark Kee
