Book RETURN TO THE MOTHER A Lover s Handbook

Download or read book RETURN TO THE MOTHER A Lover s Handbook written by Red Hawk and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2017-08-28 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries the Tao Te Ching, the book of ancient wisdom by Lao Tsu, has offered insight, inspiration and consolation to millions of readers. Although numberless translations and commentaries exist around the world, Return to the Mother, A Lover’s Handbook, is a groundbreaking effort and a unique contribution to the canon of American poetry. In this volume, internationally known poet Red Hawk offers poetic reflections on these much-loved ancient sutras. This collection of 94 contemporary poems (each 16 lines), brings this perennial wisdom into the 21st century—and adds the flavor and fragrance of Zen and Gurdjieff’s dharma teachings in a spare poetic marriage with Lao Tsu. Each poem invites the reader to bring this wisdom to his or her daily practice of self observation and self remembering. The poet begs for a return to the true Self, which he symbolizes as the place of the Mother within. Our Mother has no words, She is Silence, She is the present, herenow. To be here-now, in this body, is to return to Our Mother . . . This volume is a companion and completion to the author’s two previous volumes Self Observation: The Awakening of Conscience. An Owner’s Manual; and Self Remembering: The Path to Non-Judgmental Love. A Practitioner’s Manual. RECOMMENDED FOR: READERS OF THE AUTHOR’S PREVIOUS BOOKS; STUDENTS OF ANY SPIRITUAL OR “WORK-ON-SELF” PRACTICE; SCHOLARS, POETS, UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES AND LOVERS OF POETRY.

Book Return of the Divine Sophia

Download or read book Return of the Divine Sophia written by Tricia McCannon and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-03-06 with total page 479 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An initiatic journey into the Mysteries of the Goddess and humanity’s return to an age of peace and celestial light • Details the ceremonies and rituals of initiation into the Fellowship of Isis • Reveals the lost teachings of Jesus about the Divine Mother and Father and how the goddess Sophia is connected to Mary Magdalene as the Female Christ • Explores the many archetypes of the Goddess, including Isis, Brigit, and the Black Madonna, and how we can transform into Homo luminous, spiritual beings of light Called through her dreams by the Priestesses of Isis, Tricia McCannon set out on a spiritual journey into the Mysteries of the Goddess. After a fateful encounter with a high initiate of the ancient Fellowship of Isis, she began researching the history of Judaism and Christianity to find out how and when the Divine Feminine became lost. She discovered a forgotten age when the Creator was honored as female and humanity lived in peaceful societies completely free of war. She shows how we can return to an age of peace and celestial light if we work to bring the masculine and feminine energies of the world back into balance. Sharing her journey into the heart of the Divine Mother, McCannon details her initiation into the Fellowship of Isis, a process rich with ceremony, ritual, and myths of the Goddess from ancient Egyptian, Celtic, Greek, Hebrew, and Native American traditions. She reveals how the many archetypes of the Goddess, including Isis, Ishtar, Brigit, and the Black Madonna, can become our allies for self-transformation. She explores Mysteries at the heart of Christianity that have remained hidden for nearly 2,000 years and how the Gnostic goddess Sophia is tied to the Second Coming, Mary Magdalene, and the Female Christ. She reveals the lost teachings of Jesus about the Divine Mother and Father and about the Divine Daughter and Son. Through her story and her in-depth research, McCannon takes us on a journey to awaken the creative power of the Divine Feminine within each of us. Equipped with the teachings of the Goddess, we gain the mastery to overcome the deeply rooted masculine-feminine imbalance of the patriarchy and to embark into the future as Homo luminous, beings of light.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of letters is a continuation of my earlier collection, The Gabriel Letters. I stumbled on the idea of writing imagined letters from an archangel advising a young guardian, while reading an introduction to C. S. Lewis' Screwtape Letters. It has been a marvelous way - perhaps delusional - of standing back and imagining that I can see the world through angel eyes. The amazing result for me has been a sense of objectivity and good will. The intended purpose of the letters is to apply to all things the idea of God's complete love (self-sacrificing, eternal, parent-like love). This idea is the center of Christianity. It is Jesus' message, and it is St. Paul's 'good news." If we desire to be Christian, we should begin, it seems to me, by attempting to apply Jesus' teachings to all things: to our behavior; to our human relationships, especially family; to our work and our business dealings; to the way we run our churches; and to the way we study the scriptures. If we take Jesus seriously, we must reevaluate much of the Bible - the parts which are not specifically the teachings of Jesus. Jesus, Himself, questioned much of the scriptures. These letters cover a variety of subjects, many of them Biblical. Some Biblical passages need correction in light of Jesus' ideas. Some Biblical passages are so marvelous that we need to lift them to the sky and shout, 'Look at this!" Some Biblical passages are confusing, and we need to wrestle with them. But in all, we should be trying to see them through Jesus' eyes. To see through Jesus' eyes is, I suspect, what the true Gabriel wants, and it is the intent of this book. - Richard V. Shriver
