Book Restoring a Fallen Christian

Download or read book Restoring a Fallen Christian written by Greg S Baker and published by . This book was released on 2021-03-29 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Greg S. Baker delivers a poignant and thought-provoking examination of the depth and struggles of a fallen Christian and the effort needed to help restore them back to the loving embrace of Jesus Christ. There has been much written on winning the lost to Christ, but very little focuses on those who have fallen away from Christ--and how to get them back. Restoring a Fallen Christian fills a gaping hole in Christian literature. The principles come straight from Scripture to provide insightful, practical, and thorough instructions to help bring someone back to Jesus Christ. We hear of tragic stories everyday of Christians who have fallen away, but the effort in bringing them back have become a hurdle for the church and a challenge for every believer. In many cases, these fallen Christians can and want to come back. Often, though, we don't know where to start or how to proceed in helping them be restored--and that is the point of this book. We are commanded to restore those who have fallen away. Greg S. Baker uses his experiences as a pastor and counselor to shed light on this sensitive subject. People fall away for many reasons, and he tackles most of them to provide the widest range of tools available to the Restorer. This book is a must-have for every Christian. If you don't need it now, there may come a time when you do.

Dangerous Calling reveals the truth that the culture surrounding our pastors is spiritually unhealthy—an environment that actively undermines the wellbeing and efficacy of our church leaders and thus the entire church body. Book Desperate for Restoration

  • Author : Dan Hubbard

  • Release : 2021-07-14
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 194 pages

Download or read book Desperate for Restoration written by Dan Hubbard and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-07-14 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We read on almost a daily basis of pastors, assistant pastors, and ministry workers that have fallen into sin. Even though they are our brothers and sisters in Christ, we, as the body of Christ, tend to judge, reject, or at the least become indifferent to these fallen servants. What can and should be done for these men and ladies that have fallen? Should they be left to themselves to figure it out or earn their path to restoration? The Bible is a book of restoration. My hope and desire with this book are to help many not only to understand the devastation of one that has fallen but also to help the fallen on the path to restoration. Many of our Biblical heroes were guilty of moral failures, yet over and over we see a gracious and loving God and Saviour that picks up the fallen. He not only forgives them but also restores them to fruitful service in ministry once again. Often, we see their lives afterward become greater and more effective in the kingdom of Christ. The tragedy is, though, that many do not know what to do with a fallen Christian. Many struggle to counsel a marriage or a family that has been broken and hurt because of sin. This book helps the reader to understand the mind of God regarding restoration and gives direction on how to guide one back to usefulness and victory. Read about my own personal testimony of failure and my path to being restored. God has been gracious to me and has helped me to help others. May He help you as well.

Book The Master s Plan for the Church

Download or read book The Master s Plan for the Church written by John F. MacArthur and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2008-09-01 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is absolutely essential that a church perceive itself as an institution for the glory of God, and to do that, claims John MacArthur, the local church must adhere unfalteringly to biblical leadership principles. Christ never intended church leadership to be earned by seniority, purchased with money, or inherited through family ties. He never compared church leaders to governing monarchs, but rather to humble shepherds; not to slick celebrities, but to laboring servants. Drawing from some of the best-received material on church leadership, this updated edition guides the church with crucial, effective lessons in leadership. This book is valuable not only for pastors and elders, but for anyone else who wants the church to be what God intended it to be.

Book The Christian Identity Volume 3

Download or read book The Christian Identity Volume 3 written by Matt McMillen and published by . This book was released on 2020-10-20 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHO ARE YOU, CHRISTIAN? This question is as old as the New Covenant itself. From the moment Christ died, all of humanity was given the opportunity to know God in a way unlike ever before. Jesus' death sealed the deal, but when He came back to life, every person on the planet now had the chance of God making His home inside of them-permanently. By grace through faith in what Jesus did for our sins, we Christians get a brand new identity from the moment we first believe. No longer living by rules, wasteful efforts, or people-pleasing, we now live and breathe by way of a supernatural relationship with the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, religious hierarchies who extort Christians, our main enemy, Satan, and the power of sin, all want nothing more than for us to not know what the Cross has truly done. The spiritual identity of every believer has become heaven-ready! On the inside, we are currently brand new creations! Not when our physical bodies die, but right now, we are new! My name is Matt McMillen, and over the next thirty days I'll take you on a daily devotional adventure of discovering who you really are as a child of God. Christian, you will be amazed at what the Cross has done to your identity! Thanks for joining me! Let's go!

Download or read book Unsinkable Faith written by Tracie Miles and published by David C Cook. This book was released on 2017-04-01 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For many people, remaining optimistic and feeling positive about themselves and their lives is a constant battle—especially when circumstances are difficult and life is hard. For others, negativity is something that only sneaks up from time to time, yet still wreaks havoc in their hearts. Regardless of the root causes, once pessimistic thoughts permeate our minds, our feelings and emotions begin to control us instead of us controlling them. Eventually it doesn’t seem possible to stay positive, happy, and full of joy, and negative thought patterns shake our faith, causing us to sink emotionally, mentally, and spiritually over time. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Despite what storms roll in, hearts anchored in God don’t sink. When we change the way we think, we can change the way we feel and live, even if our circumstances remain the same. Intentionally embracing the opportunity to experience a transformed heart and a renewed mind opens the door for a changed life, because a positive mind will always lead to a more positive life. In Unsinkable Faith, author and Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker Tracie Miles offers hope for women who struggle with negativity. Each chapter explores Tracie’s and other women’s personal stories, showing how they rose above their circumstances by transforming and renewing their minds. Unsinkable Faith is a breath of fresh air for anyone longing for a heart full of joy, an unbreakable smile, and a new, more optimistic perspective on life. This book will equip you to: Replace pessimism with positive thinking by becoming the captain of your thoughts; Learn how true joy and happiness are based on choice, not circumstances; Overcome unhealthy habits of negative thinking by intentionally implementing three easy mind-renewing steps; Stop feeling hopeless and pitiful, and start feeling hope-filled and powerful instead; and Discover that when you change the way you think, you change the way feel, and in turn you can change your life completely.

Book Rebuilding the Walls

  • Release : 2020-06-22
  • ISBN : 1725256797

Download or read book Rebuilding the Walls written by James Kelly and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-06-22 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are few situations in the life of a church that are more disruptive or destructive than the presence of sin in the life of its membership, especially the leadership. Too often we see the presence of sin as a fatal situation. Yet sin, properly dealt with, rather than destroying the church or those involved, may become a catalyst for growth--both for the church body and those involved in whatever sin is present. Christ and the apostle Paul laid out instructions for taking the presence of sin, challenging those involved and restoring their walk with Christ. Therefore, we must, if we consider ourselves as a spiritual people, resolve to restore those impacted by sin and see them resume their walk with Christ (Gal 6:1).

Book Restoring Christ Leaving Mormon Jesus for Jesus of the Gospels

Download or read book Restoring Christ Leaving Mormon Jesus for Jesus of the Gospels written by Grant H. Palmer and published by . This book was released on 2017-07-18 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have come to greatly prefer the Jesus of the Gospels over the Jesus of Mormonism. This book is an exploration of the foundations of my journey, and what I have chosen to believe, what I hope others might consider. I write on Christianity and I write on Mormonism, with the hope that struggling Latter-day Saints can find a way forward with Christ as their foundation. Looking at both Christianity and Mormonism, my intent is to lift the baby from the bathwater, to restore the Savior, with no desire to save the Jesus of Mormonism. Joseph Smith's Restoration has grave problems. He went astray in my view, because he went beyond the footprint of Jesus' teachings--committing the same mistake he claimed others had made. I suppose this book is a Restoration-type endeav∨ an effort to rediscover what is most basic, most important. How ironic to seek to restore the Christ of the Gospels from Mormonism! So what does a Latter-day Saint do when they discover that the church narrative they were taught all their life has fallen apart? For me, the "revelations" of Mormon Jesus and their practice by Joseph Smith--as especially seen in chapters 9, 17-19--is radically different from the behavior, character and personality of Jesus of Nazareth. For example, Smith produced "scriptures" which depended on nineteenth-century sources, claiming them to be ancient. He initiated a secret "spiritual wife system" which included concubines and slandered women who resisted his sexual advances. He married young teenagers and other men's wives. He cursed his enemies and set up a secret organization, had himself ordained king and sought to violently overthrow the Nation. Comparing the two portraits has been the single most cathartic event since my crisis of faith. I find the Jesus of the Gospels to better reflect God's nature and love, and thus how to clearly respond to others as a disciple.

Book Restoring the House of God

Download or read book Restoring the House of God written by Frank Reid, III and published by Destiny Image Incorporated. This book was released on 2000 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A thief has quietly crept into our churches. This thief has robbed us blind and most of us do not even realize it. Most of what our Lord wants for us has been taken from us by a "spirit of religion". This spirit has caused us to become a self-centered, flesh-serving institution instead of the life-giving, hope-building, Christ-filled Body that Jesus wants to build. Our only hope of reconnecting with our Lord and the culture around us is to return to the Lord Himself. He will build His own Church, with much less help from us than we realize. This book shows the power of restoring the Church by restoring the intimacy of relationship with our Lord and then with the people God has put into our lives.
