The earlier report identified the need for further work to be done to identify the special needs of the post-War new towns and to learn the lessons of these huge planning experiments for the future. The Committee finds the Government response to the recommendations to have been partial, half-hearted and inadequate. This report explains why the recommendations of the predecessor committee remain relevant and why they should be acted on.
