Book Computer Science Logic

Download or read book Computer Science Logic written by Julian Bradfield and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-08-02 with total page 630 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Annual Conference of the European Association for Computer Science Logic, CSL 2002, was held in the Old College of the University of Edinburgh on 22–25 September 2002. The conference series started as a programme of Int- national Workshops on Computer Science Logic, and then in its sixth meeting became the Annual Conference of the EACSL. This conference was the sixteenth meeting and eleventh EACSL conference; it was organized by the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh. The CSL 2002 Programme Committee considered 111 submissions from 28 countries during a two week electronic discussion; each paper was refereed by at least three reviewers. The Committee selected 37 papers for presentation at the conference and publication in these proceedings. The Programme Committee invited lectures from Susumu Hayashi, Frank Neven, and Damian Niwinski; ́ the papers provided by the invited speakers appear at the front of this volume. In addition to the main conference, two tutorials – ‘Introduction to Mu- Calculi’ (Julian Brad?eld) and ‘Parametrized Complexity’ (Martin Grohe) – were given on the previous day.

Book Dictionary of XML Technologies and the Semantic Web

Download or read book Dictionary of XML Technologies and the Semantic Web written by Vladimir Geroimenko and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The emerging Second-Generation Web is based entirely on XML and related technologies. It is intended to result in the creation of the Semantic Web, on which computers will be able to deal with the meaning ("semantics") of Web data and hence to process them in a more effective and autono mous way. This new version of the Web introduces a multitude of novel concepts, terms, and acronyms. Purpose, Scope and Methods This dictionary is an effort to specify the terminological basis of emerging XML and Semantic Web technologies. The ultimate goal of this dictionary is even broader than just to define the meaning of newwords - itaims to develop aproper understandingofthese leading-edge technologies. To achieve this, comprehensible definitions of technical terms are supported by numerous diagrams and code snippets, clearly annotated and explained. The main areas covered in this dictionary are: (1) XML syntax and core technologies, such as Namespaces, Infoset and XML Schema; (2) all the major membersofthe XML family oftechnologies, such as XSLT, XPath and XLink; (3) numerous XML-based domain-specific languages, such as NewsML (News Markup Language); (4) the concept and architecture of the Semantic Web; (5) key Semantic Web technologies, such as RDF (Resource Description Framework), RDF Schema and OWL (Web Ontology Language); and (6) Web services, including WSDL (Web Services Description Lan guage) and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol).

Book Systems Engineering Using the DEJI Systems Model

Download or read book Systems Engineering Using the DEJI Systems Model written by Adedeji B. Badiru and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-08-29 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While we need to work more with a systems approach, there are few books that provide systems engineering theory and applications. This book presents a comprehensive collection of systems engineering models. Each of the models is fully covered with guidelines of how and why to use them, along with case studies. Systems Engineering Using the DEJI Systems Model®: Evaluation, Justification, and Integration with Case Studies and Applications provides systems integration as a unifying platform for systems of systems and presents a structured model for systems applications and explicit treatment of human-in-the-loop systems. It discusses systems design in detail and covers the justification methodologies along with examples. Systems evaluation tools and techniques are also included with a discussion on how engineering education is playing a major role for systems advancement. Practicing professionals, as well as educational institutions, governments, businesses, and industries, will find this book of interest.

Book Semistructured Database Design

Download or read book Semistructured Database Design written by Tok Wang Ling and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-03-30 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Semistructured Database Design provides an essential reference for anyone interested in the effective management of semsistructured data. Since many new and advanced web applications consume a huge amount of such data, there is a growing need to properly design efficient databases. This volume responds to that need by describing a semantically rich data model for semistructured data, called Object-Relationship-Attribute model for Semistructured data (ORA-SS). Focusing on this new model, the book discuss problems and present solutions for a number of topics, including schema extraction, the design of non-redundant storage organizations for semistructured data, and physical semsitructured database design, among others. Semistructured Database Design, presents researchers and professionals with the most complete and up-to-date research in this fast-growing field.

This book was released on 2018-03-09 with total page 602 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Teacher education programs serve traditional and non-traditional students and develop teachers to enter a range of teaching environments. Approaching teacher education through community involvement and learning objectives helps to effectively prepare teachers to serve local and community needs. The Handbook of Research on Service-Learning Initiatives in Teacher Education Programs provides emerging research on the methods and techniques for educators to strengthen their knowledge regarding the intersection of service learning and field placements. While highlighting topics, such as cultural competency, teacher development, and multicultural education, this book explores the benefits, challenges, and opportunities for employing community service as the driving framework for field experiences. This publication is a vital resource for practitioners, educators, faculty, and administrators seeking current research on the opportunity of field involvement to enhance teacher candidates’ experiences and provide a channel for meaningful learning.
