The mucous membrane of last third of ileum, caecum and large intestine, inflamed in red patches which occupied the whole circumference of the gut, stomach distended with food, gall-bladder full, other organs healthy, last molar tooth just coming through the gum. Case 2. "Singaroo" male, aged 25 years, Hindoo Brahmin of Niirpur ( Kangra, ) by occupation a fakir, had been in Jail 9 months, admitted into hospital for dysentery on the 19th September 1869, discharged cured 1st October, re-admitted suffering from dysentery on the 9th October, died on the 24th October 1869. He was much emaciated on his admission, had 10 or 12 stools in the 24 hours, pain in epigastrium, over caecum and sigmoid flexure increased on pressure, tongue covered with a thin white fur, feet swollen, ordered Recipe Pulveris Ipecacuanha 1 drachm, with mustard poultice daily, and Condys fluid in his drinking water, diet--soup, rice, milk and sugar, and to have a fourth blanket as he complains of being cold at night. He refused his soup on the 16th, his medicine on the 17th, when he was ordered Mixtura Crete and Citrate of iron. The post mortem was held on the 25th October at 10 A. M. The body was much emaciated, mucous membrane of small intestine inflamed and ulcerated in patches of three inches in length, extending over the last third of ileum down to the ileo coecal valves; great intestine, a patch of ulceration in sigmoid flexure, mucous membrane of colon inflamed throughout, stomach and duodenum healthy, liver healthy, spleen enlarged, heart, a little fluid blood in right cavities, none in left, other organs healthy.
