Book excerpt: The Bible has sold more copies than any other book and continues to sell year after year. Continuing in its footsteps is the Eyewitness series written for the average person. Flash back to first century AD. One man appeared who shook up the world. Four men testified to what they saw and heard. The details of JesusÂ’ life were recorded by four of his closest followers. Each account is written from a different perspective and only one of the four tells the events in chronological order. Therefore, for centuries, the accounts have been told in out-of-sequence fragments. Eyewitness compiles the information from the Gospels and hundreds of other Bible verses into one chronological story laid out like a story without reference or verse. The result is a seamless combination of the four gospel books that will appeal to customers across the board, even those who would not normally purchase a Bible. Multiple bindings and an aggressive advertising and marketing campaign will insure this line carries strong sales for years to come.

Book Eyewitness to Heaven

Download or read book Eyewitness to Heaven written by James Wilburn Chauncey and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the mid 1940s James Wilburn Chauncey died of bacterial (Meningococcal) spinal meningitis. He was pronounced dead, covered with a white sheet to await the morgue and cremation. Several hours later, when two housekeepers entered the quarantined room, they were greeted by a most terrifying sight: a seven-year-old boy who was most certainly not deadat least not anymore. Though he suffered amnesia and couldn't remember anything prior to getting sick, James vividly recalled his experience in paradise while dead. There James was introduced to his three previously deceased siblings and shown a vision of his future and the future of the earth. Though considered a Miracle Boy, few people believed he was actually an Eyewitness to Heaven. The more common response was that the disease has damaged his brain permanently and he was retarded. Ostracized by his brothers and his classmates, James had tremendous problems in school, with his friends, and with life in general. He soon developed anger at Jesus for not taking him back to paradise. Over the next six decades, James remained silent about his experience and created a new personality as a defense mechanism. Finally, after surviving five heart attacks and two terminal cancers, James's daughters broke through and got him to reveal why he was so angry about surviving cancer, and persuaded James to open up about his experience. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written by an L. A. County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator. Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity. A unique apologetic that speaks to readers’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

Book Goodbye Jesus

  • Author : Tim Sledge
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2018-03-15
  • ISBN : 9780999843505
  • Pages : 474 pages

Download or read book Goodbye Jesus written by Tim Sledge and published by . This book was released on 2018-03-15 with total page 474 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tim Sledge pulls back the curtain on Southern Baptist life as he chronicles nearly four decades of ministry in this highly personal, sometimes painful, and frequently provocative spiritual autobiography. Part memoir, part expos , part polemic-this is an account of failures as well as accomplishments-and very nearly a case study in how faith may begin, how it evolves, and how it can fall apart. Sledge traces the childhood origins of his sincere faith, his efforts at spiritual obedience, his theological education, his climb up the ladder in ministry, his insights into the challenges of growth-oriented leadership, and his pioneering work in faith-based recovery ministries that ultimately guided participants in 20,000 support groups across the U.S. A recurring theme in his story is coming to grips with the significance of being an adult child of an alcoholic. After a fall from grace and a growing awareness that faith no longer worked for him, his journey took a new direction that required examining alternatives to his former belief system including Deism, agnosticism, humanism, and atheism. Ultimately, he found new ways to live a positive, value-driven life and emerged as a new version of the same person he had always been, still interested in creating avenues for personal growth in the lives of others. Goodbye Jesus is a relatable and thoughtful read for those seeking to better understand the evangelical mindset, for Christians who are questioning their faith, for ministers trying to decide whether to stay or go, and for those who have left their faith and are dealing with its loss.
