Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this work, Mead sets down the sincere choosing of God which should result in closing with Christ and being genuinely converted. His text is Ecclesiastes 12:1, “Remember your Creator now in the days of your youth.” He directed the sermons to the youth of the church, but they are by no means linked only to them, and will make older sinners blush as well as younger ones. He explains that the two great duties of the Christian life are to cease to do evil, and to learn to do well. No man can be good that does not cease to be evil. In the words of the preacher from Ecclesiastes, he shows that this exhortation is to take up a very concerning duty, backed with a threefold argument. In the duty, first, the act, which is to “remember.” Secondly, the object to be remembered, “your Creator.” And, thirdly, the time when he must be remembered, “now.” Sincere converts to the Christian faith should wisely improve this present life, and carefully provide for a better one to come. The one that is truly faithful in one will in some measure be conscious in both, and both are pointed at in Mead’s text. The one that in the days of his youth remembers his Creator as he ought, rightly improves the present life and wisely provides for that which is to come. In doing so, he unites in his practice those duties that God has joined together in the precept, “remember your Creator now in the days of your youth.” This work is not a scan or facsimile, has been carefully transcribed by hand being made easy to read in modern English, and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.

Book Day by Day with Jesus Remembering Christ s true promises and realizing God s presence

Download or read book Day by Day with Jesus Remembering Christ s true promises and realizing God s presence written by James Abdelmalek and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In our daily lives, we run into multiple emotions. We may run into troubles, yet we can find peace. We may face hardships, yet we can find prosperity. We may find suffering, yet we can find comfort. We may get angry, yet we can find calmness. We may get desperate, yet we can find hope. We may hate others, yet we can find love. We may judge others, yet we can find forgiveness. We may hurt others, yet we can be a help. We may stumble others, yet we can be an inspiration. We may curse, yet we can bless. We may gossip, yet we can pray. It is simply a choice between living as the world and living through Jesus. Jesus is always present as He promised. God is always near as He assured us. We run into sorrow because we forget God's true promises. We are sad in our life because we forget Christ's guidance. If we look at God's words and contemplate about how much He cares for us and how much He loves us, We will be able to handle any situation at any time, by any means, through Christ our Lord.

Book My Personal Relationship with the Creator

Download or read book My Personal Relationship with the Creator written by Sister Alene Folsom and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-29 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All men born into this world are visitors from the angelic world. The human soul is a theological topic of discussion throughout the world. Many religionists including Christian study the subject of the soul. However, they do not reach a unified opinion, but only discuss it or teach it in their own ways. Wherever you go you can not hear any thesis or sermon which is definite, convincing and consistent. It is because the biblicists today do not realize the fundamental principle of the soul. If you realize completely how all the heavenly hosts and angels, the sons of God and the souls of men were created by God, then you will fully understand the soul---its past, present and future. This book will give you understanding of how the human soul and angels were created and will also give you insight into the angelic world, this human world and the next world. It will clearly show you where the human soul came from and where it will return to. If anyone preaches without knowledge of where the human soul comes from and where it returns to , he has no confidence in his sermon. Without knowing where you are from, how can you say that you know where you will return to? However, of you study this book, you will realize that you were close friends with the son of God and the angels of heaven before you came into this world; and you will believe that the angels and the sons of God, who have not sinned, are waiting for you to repent of your sins and return to heaven. Now, you can neither see nor understand all these things clearly, because you have put on a veil of sin. But if you gain thorough knowledge of the soul, you will look forward to meeting them all again with joy and hope. This book reveals undeniable truths about the soul based on the Bible. Please study this book seriously

Book God the Creator

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ben C. Ollenburger
  • Publisher : Baker Books
  • Release : 2023-04-18
  • ISBN : 149344011X
  • Pages : 254 pages

Download or read book God the Creator written by Ben C. Ollenburger and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2023-04-18 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians today are focused on two important creation topics: how the world came to be and how we should care for it. A highly respected Old Testament theologian recommends that before discussing these questions, we focus on God the Creator and God's ongoing work in creation. We should explore what the Bible tells us and let the text set the agenda for our reflections. Combining his storytelling gift with rigorous biblical exegesis and deep reflection, Ben Ollenburger describes the action of God the Creator as presented throughout the Old Testament. He shows how creation is about more than origins. It is about God acting against the hostile forces of chaos that can be historical, political, and military. About how God created a well-ordered world, and how human transgression ruptures God's relationship with humans and threatens creation. About how God responds as Creator to those threats by disturbing and reordering the disorder, bringing about what God intended--a world ordered in the social, political, and natural realms that is characterized by the justice, righteousness, and peace required for human flourishing.

Book Judaism and Scripture

    Book Details:
  • Author : Jacob Neusner
  • Publisher : Wipf and Stock Publishers
  • Release : 2003-09-08
  • ISBN : 1592443354

Download or read book Judaism and Scripture written by Jacob Neusner and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2003-09-08 with total page 665 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This groundbreaking work continues Jacob Neusner's multi-volume examination of the main texts of Judaism in its formative years. The first two parts of the project--'Judaism: The Evidence of the Yerushalmi'--examined the Mishnah and the Talmud of the Land of Israel and placed them in the social, intellectual, and religious contexts of their time. In 'Judaism and Scripture' Neusner moves from the study of ancient Judaism in society at large to an analysis of Rabbinic Judaism in relation to Scripture itself. Neusner accomplishes this both through close analysis and through the first English translation of the critical text of the Leviticus Rabbah. Tracing the relationship between the actual Book of Leviticus and its rabbinic commentary, Neusner asks how the rabbis who stand behind the text make use of Leviticus and how, through their comments on it, they make intelligible and comprehensible statements of their own. In answering these two questions Neusner shows, through a prime example, exactly how Scripture enters Judaism and how rabbis of the formative age of Judaism chose and taught the lessons they deemed critical to the life of Israel, the Jewish people.
