Book Missionary Education in Home and School

Download or read book Missionary Education in Home and School written by Ralph E. Diffendorfer and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-25 with total page 415 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Missionary Education in Home and School Some time ago the following letter was received from the director of an institute for the training of Sunday school teachers in one of our large cities: "You will note that the Training Institute is solely for the purpose of religious education. The question of arranging to have missionary instruction included another year in the curriculum is for the Board of Managers and the Teacher Training and Graded Work Committee to decide." In the mind of this Sunday school worker missionary education and religious education are thought of as two quite distinct processes. In general, this was the attitude of most religious workers ten years ago when the author began an investigation of the relation of missionary education to religious education, and especially its place in the home and the church school. This distinction between religious education and missionary education was so marked and so persistent as to make certain results inevitable. The mission boards recognized more and more that the maintenance of their work depended upon rearing a generation of Christian people in thorough sympathy with missionary work, and with full conviction that its expanding needs must be met thoroughly and efficiently. Book Family Driven Faith

Download or read book Family Driven Faith written by Voddie T. Baucham Jr. and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2007 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More teens are turning away from the faith than ever before: it is estimated that 75 to 88% of Christian teens walk away from Christianity by the end of their freshman year of college. Something must be done. Family Driven Faith equips Christian parents with the tools they need to raise children biblically in a post-Christian, anti-family society. Voddie Baucham, who with his wife has overcome a multi-generational legacy of broken and dysfunctional homes, shows that God has not left us alone in raising godly children. He has given us timeless precepts and principles for multi-generational faithfulness, especially in Deuteronomy 6. God's simple command to Moses to teach the Word diligently to the children of Israel serves as the foundation of Family Driven Faith. - Publisher.

Book Religious Training of Children

Download or read book Religious Training of Children written by Mrs. Joel Swartz and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-17 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Religious Training of Children I Have read with deep interest the excellent paper on "The Religious Training of Children," by Mrs. Joel Swartz. The Subject is of supreme importance because it is fundamental. Church and State, home and society, business prosperity and national welfare, must be built upon this foundation of right character. The future pivots upon this. It will be bright or dark according to the sort of men and women we develop in our homes and schools. We must have solid rock-foundation if we are to build securely; and the rock is the Eternal Truth of God which the Christian religion gives us. The large experience and ripe wisdom of the author of this booklet make her conclusions and suggestions of great value. Parents and teachers may find inspiration and helpful guidance here. Mothers' Clubs and Children's Aid Societies may well ponder the principles set forth clearly in these pages. This is. a topic worthy of the thoughtful study of all who are interested in the betterment of mankind, and in the revived interest in it, manifested in so many quarters today, we see one of the brightest tokens of progress toward that ideal life to which our Lord has summoned us. Book Rethinking School How to Take Charge of Your Child s Education

Download or read book Rethinking School How to Take Charge of Your Child s Education written by Susan Wise Bauer and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2018-01-09 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “If you read only one book on educating children, this should be the book.… With a warm, informative voice, Bauer gives you the knowledge that will help you flex the educational model to meet the needs of your child.” —San Francisco Book Review Our K–12 school system isn’t a good fit for all—or even most—students. It prioritizes a single way of understanding the world over all others, pushes children into a rigid set of grades with little regard for individual maturity, and slaps “disability” labels on differences in learning style. Caught in this system, far too many young learners end up discouraged. This informed, compassionate, and practical guidebook will show you how to take control of your child’s K–12 experience and negotiate the school system in a way that nurtures your child’s mind, emotions, and spirit. Understand why we have twelve grades, and why we match them to ages. Evaluate your child’s maturity, and determine how to use that knowledge to your advantage. Find out what subject areas we study in school, why they exist—and how to tinker with them. Discover what learning disabilities and intellectual giftedness are, how they can overlap, how to recognize them, and how those labels can help (or hinder) you. Work effectively with your child’s teachers, tutors, and coaches. Learn to teach important subjects yourself. Challenge accepted ideas about homework and standardized testing. Help your child develop a vision for the future. Reclaim your families’ priorities (including time for eating together, playing, imagining, traveling, and, yes, sleeping!). Plan for college—or apprenticeships. Consider out-of-the-box alternatives.
