Book excerpt: "El propósito de la investigación fue auscultar la relación entre las manifestaciones de conductas de ciudadanía organizacional con las variables de satisfacción en el trabajo y compromiso organizacional en empleados de seguridad. La muestra consistió de 396 participantes por disponibilidad de 14 centros de trabajo de una agencia de seguridad en la zona metropolitana de Puerto Rico. Los datos se recopilaron a través de tres instrumentos. La Escala de Conducta de Ciudadanía Organizacional (Rosario-Hernández, 2002) son instrumentos que fueron desarrollados y validados para la población puertorriqueña. Para medir la satisfacción general en el trabajo se utilizó el Indice Descriptive Index (Smith, Kendall & Hulin, 1975) que fue traducido y adaptado a nuestra población, como Indice Descriptivo de Empleo (Lacot, López & Martínez, 1991). Los análisis de regresión múltiple por pasos (stepwise) indicaron que los predictores de la ciudadanía organizacional fueron la satisfacción en el trabajo y el compromiso organizacional. Los análisis multivariados de varianza (MANOVA) indicaron que hay diferencias significativas entre el género y años de servicio. Los resultados sugieren que las manifestaciones de las conductas de ciudadanía organizacional se podrían dar cuando existen niveles altos de compromiso afectivo, compromiso moral y satisfacción en el trabajo."--Iv.

Book excerpt: El propósito de esta investigación es auscultar la relación entre el compromiso organizacional, la pasión por el trabajo, el significado por el trabajo y la satisfacción laboral. A su vez, este estudio busca examinar el efecto del compromiso organizacional como mediador en la relación entre estas variables organizacionales. Este estudio se realizó mediante el análisis de datos secundarios obteniendo una muestra de 347 participantes de distintas industrias en Puerto Rico. Los resultados indicaron que el compromiso organizacional muestra relaciones significativas y directas con el resto de las variables organizacionales. Asimismo, los datos revelaron que el compromiso no moderó la relación entre la pasión por el trabajo y la satisfacción laboral. Los datos también indicaron que el compromiso medió la relación entre el significado por el trabajo y la satisfacción laboral. Estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de continuar investigando el compromiso como un indicador de mayor satisfacción y motivación laboral. Las implicaciones de estos hallazgos también son discutidas.

Book excerpt: El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la relación que tiene el empowerment con la satisfacción laboral y el compromiso organizacional, con la finalidad de demostrar la importancia del empowerment en el ámbito laboral y que sea utilizado como una estrategia dentro de las empresas. 100 empleados de tres empresas de la iniciativa privada de diferentes niveles jerárquicos completaron tres cuestionarios (el inventario de empowerment de Menon, el de satisfacción laboral de Quinn y Shepard's y el de compromiso organizacional de Allen), que midió la correlación entre el empowerment con la satisfacción laboral y el empowerment con el compromiso organizacional. Los resultados mostraron que los empleados que se perciben con un mayor empowerment, se sienten más satisfechos con su trabajo y, los que se perciben con un mayor empowerment se comprometen más con la organización.
