Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is indeed a remarkable literary endeavor. Readers who see a kaleidoscope of thoughts, experiences, convictions, and philosophies in this book will certainly find and cherish the invaluable pearls of wisdom scattered in various parts of the book. I am impressed with the particular mention of climate change and global warming. It is indeed a timely measure to bring awareness in the general populace, especially the indifferent lot who are still in a daze over the haze prevalent in the atmosphere. Today, natural calamities have become a global crisis that warrants urgent remedies, hence, the need for clean energy revolution to combat the devastating climate bomb. Written with a down-to-earth approach, the author has seriously attempted to also awaken and enlighten dreamers to the imminent social hazards that considerably affect the harmony between the human races. Human life cannot be compromised. The despicable violent minority is comfortably riding on the docile silent majority. In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “It’s time we reverse might is right to right is might.” Dedicate your time and energy for a cause worthy of your blessed birth on this earth. This book, enriched with thoughtful and inspiring sayings, will absolutely earn its keep. S. Applasamy, Retired Educator

Book Living Through This Pandemic

Download or read book Living Through This Pandemic written by Tom Garz and published by Tom Garz - TG Ideas LLC. This book was released on 2021-01-08 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Coronavirus (CV) Pandemic has affected all of us, in some way or another. Some of us have been diagnosed with Covid-19 and have survived. Some still have lingering symptoms. You might be what is currently called a Covid "Long-Hauler". Some have not survived. All of us, however, have been impacted psychologically and emotionally, even if we never were affected physically. If not dealt with, the Stress we now feel these days might develop into lingering Covid Mental Health Issues and/or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). At the time of this writing, we are almost a year into this Pandemic. We are receiving conflicting information on the Pandemic, Politics, the Economy, and many other aspects of our daily living. All this is overwhelming, at least for me. Maybe for you too. Time will tell how this pandemic will linger on in our lives physically, mentally, and maybe even spiritually as the days, weeks, months, and years go on. This book might at least give you some ideas and/or resources for now and in the future, if needed. This book is probably not for those who are thriving in the current situations we are all in at this time. This book is more for those who are slogging through each day, just like me - learning to live "Just for Today".

Book excerpt: The Ordinary Millionaire is intended to show a perspective of a struggling immigrant who grew up in poverty yet became a millionaire within six years after being deep in debt with middle-class incomes for almost two decades. Just like ordinary Americans, I had made many poor emotional choices trying to keep up with the Joneses...trying to be normal. I then share with you how we implemented other guru’s proven strategies to turn our life around from financial rock bottom. My main reason for writing this book is to hopefully inspire you to get your finances in order and to pursue your dreams. I would like to impart our actual regimen to maintain a simple lifestyle and invest diligently in order to obtain our wealth. In the grand scheme of things, becoming a millionaire is only a side effect of our short-term objective—our true aspiration is to be financially independent and retire early like what is often heard in the FIRE movement.

Book The Plurality Principle

Download or read book The Plurality Principle written by Dave Harvey and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2021-02-17 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building and Sustaining a Thriving Leadership Culture Essential to every healthy church is a biblical model of leadership. In the New Testament, church leadership is built around a team of elders working together, each bringing his own unique skills and gifts to the cause of shepherding the flock God entrusted to them. However, in many churches today the principle of plurality in leadership is often misunderstood, mistakenly applied, or completely ignored. Dave Harvey encourages church leaders to prioritize plurality for the surprising ways that it helps churches to flourish. This book not only builds a compelling case for churches to adopt and maintain biblical elder pluralities guided by solid leadership but also supplies practical tools to help elders work together for transformation. Book Feline Philosophy

  • Author : John Gray
  • Publisher : Farrar, Straus and Giroux
  • Release : 2020-11-24

Download or read book Feline Philosophy written by John Gray and published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. This book was released on 2020-11-24 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author of Straw Dogs, famous for his provocative critiques of scientific hubris and the delusions of progress and humanism, turns his attention to cats—and what they reveal about humans' torturous relationship to the world and to themselves. The history of philosophy has been a predictably tragic or comical succession of palliatives for human disquiet. Thinkers from Spinoza to Berdyaev have pursued the perennial questions of how to be happy, how to be good, how to be loved, and how to live in a world of change and loss. But perhaps we can learn more from cats--the animal that has most captured our imagination--than from the great thinkers of the world. In Feline Philosophy, the philosopher John Gray discovers in cats a way of living that is unburdened by anxiety and self-consciousness, showing how they embody answers to the big questions of love and attachment, mortality, morality, and the Self: Montaigne's house cat, whose un-examined life may have been the one worth living; Meo, the Vietnam War survivor with an unshakable capacity for "fearless joy"; and Colette's Saha, the feline heroine of her subversive short story "The Cat", a parable about the pitfalls of human jealousy. Exploring the nature of cats, and what we can learn from it, Gray offers a profound, thought-provoking meditation on the follies of human exceptionalism and our fundamentally vulnerable and lonely condition. He charts a path toward a life without illusions and delusions, revealing how we can endure both crisis and transformation, and adapt to a changed scene, as cats have always done.
