Book Regard musulman sur le christianisme

Download or read book Regard musulman sur le christianisme written by Rachid Maach and published by Al Bayyinah. This book was released on with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Regards chr tiens sur l Islam written by Louis Gardet and published by Desclée de Brouwer. This book was released on 1986 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Aspects de la foi de l Islam written by Jacques Berque and published by Publications Fac St Louis. This book was released on 1985 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Faithful Interpretations written by Archbishop J. Augustine Di Noia and published by CUA Press. This book was released on 2021-02-26 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ”Theology of Religions” is among the most burning issues within Christian theology today. The challenge to study and discuss different ways of handling conflicting truth claims and religious narratives between religions is taken up by a growing number of theologians across denominational boundaries. This is a common and ecumenical effort undertaken by Christian theologians all over the world. And yet, the impact of specific ecclesiastical or theological traditions on different concepts of theology of religions should not be underestimated. As well known, the Second Vatican council with its pivotal decree Nostra Aetate (On the relation to other religions) not only set the agenda for Catholic theology, but even influenced the wider discussion on the topic. The papers of this volume were all given at a conference in Uppsala, Sweden in October 2017. The structure of Faithful Interpretations follows closely the way the conference was conducted. A general introduction to the development and present status of ”Theology of Religions” by Marianne Moyaert opens the book. Archbishop J Augustine Di Noia of the Vatican Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith then treats the recent developments in the teaching of the Magisterium regarding theology of religions. Anna Bonta Moreland adresses the issue of Muhammad and Christian Prophecy. Diego R Sarrió Cucarella focuses on early Christian theological views of Islam and concludes that Islam has been from the begining a ”disturbing” factor in the Christian view of salvation history. Wilhelmus G B M Valkenberg discusses the impact of Nostra Aetate on the Church’s relation to Muslims, using especially the precedent of Nicolaus of Cues as regards a constructive approach to Islam. Klaus von Stosch adresses a sensitive issue in Muslim-Christian relations and illustrates the advantages of the comparative theology approach for the theology of religions. Complementing this perspective, Peter Jonkers offers a hermeneutical perspective on truth claims, and reflects on ”the religious Other” with references to Jacques Derrida among others. Reinhold Bernhardt argues in favour of a biblically grounded “relational-existential” theory of truth, which would be most helpful with regard to other religions. To conclude, the prominent Catholic specialist on Theology of Religions, Gavin D’Costa, widened the perspective by addressing the relation to Judaism from the point of view of the covenant and the promises of the land. Altogether, the papers of this volume give a clear impression of the status of Roman Catholic Theology of Religions.

Download or read book Mary and Jesus in Islam written by Yasin T. al-Jibouri and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-12-19 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: YASIN T. AL-JIBOURI is an Iraqi-American writer, author, editor and translator who has as many as 54 titles to his credit. Details of these works and of his other activities are provided in the Preface to this book as well as front cover images of some of these works on pages 46-75. He holds a Masters' degree in English from an American university, and he taught English in his home country, Iraq, and in Saudi Arabia and the United States. Presently, he is writing his major work titled Allah: The Concept of God in Islam in two volumes as well as A Dictionary of Islamic Terms, also in two volumes. This book is an attempt to bring Christians and Muslims of the world closer to each other, to bridge the gap between, to establish an alliance among them, so that they may together be able to face the challenges of the present and of the future. One of these challenges is extremism, the new menacing plague that is endangering the lives of so many people from both creeds and from others. Knowledge, right and accurate knowledge, is powerful, and such power can be put to good use: to clear misconceptions, remove doubts and suspicions and establish trust and understanding among followers of both creeds. Philosophically, this book cites many first-hand references to prove that, unfortunately, present day Christianity, regardless of any of its many denominations, has truly distanced itself from the original word preached by Jesus Christ. It traces the times and circumstances when concepts of "son of God", "Holy Trinity" and "salvation" crept into Christianity and distorted the pristine faith brought by Christ. At the same time, it highlights Qur'anic verses that beautifully paint a portrait of Jesus Christ and his saintly virgin mother, Mary, testifying to the truth brought by Christ, to his miracles, guidance and truth. The information is presented in a flowing style that captures the attention of any reader, including one who just is looking for a good story to enjoy.

Download or read book Un Islam Reconcili Avec les Chr tiens Arabes written by Guy-Raymond Sarkis and published by . This book was released on 2022-02-21 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - Tension, Transmission, Transformation (JCIT) brings together innovative volumes exploring the reception and mediation of ideas and practices in the three monotheistic traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, from antiquity to the twenty-first century. Monographs, collected works, text editions, and bibliographic databases address their intertwining relations in various historical and geographical contexts. The series is intentionally interdisciplinary, inviting proposals across disciplines dealing with at least two of these three religions. Among the research areas to be studied are, for example, Greek, Hebrew, Syriac, Arabic, Latin, and Ottoman cultural spheres; the Enlightenment and modernity in various contexts; imperialism, colonialism, postcolonialism, and globalization. Attention is given to exegesis and intertextuality, political models and patterns of social order, spiritual symbols and images, scholarly interactions and mystical experiences. The series is relevant to scholars as well as to those interested and engaged in interreligious exchange.

Download or read book In Search of Understanding written by Clinton Bennett and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-10-04 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Clinton Bennett reflects on four decades of engagement with Muslims and Christian-Muslim relations as a missionary, scholar, and interfaith activist. Set in the context of his personal story, chapters discuss a series of critical questions to the Christian-Muslim relationship reprising earlier writing. Bennett asks: can Christians appreciate the prophet Muhammad as a genuine messenger from God or is this theological treason? How might Christians respond to the Muslim claim that Jesus was a prophet and is not God incarnate? Can Christians with integrity regard the Qur’ān as a word from God, and is there any possibility of rapprochement on the issue of whether Jesus died on the cross? Focusing on the United States, Bennett also describes church-sponsored Christian-Muslim initiatives and offers suggestions on how Christians can rethink their ideas about Muslims and cooperate with them in peace and justice advocacy, and social and community development. Exploring some of the causes of Islamophobia, Bennett set out to challenge Christians to keep the commandment not to bear false witness against their Muslim neighbors.

Book Islam et Occident face face

Download or read book Islam et Occident face face written by Jacques Waardenburg and published by Labor Et Fides. This book was released on 1998-01-01 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Islam et Christianisme written by and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
