Book excerpt: When you're called the Icer for your MC, it isn't what you think. Maybe you think of someone that is cool and collected. Someone who uses a laid-back approach. However, you would be wrong, so wrong. Being the Icer means that I get the information by using any means necessary, having little to no morals whatsoever. The only moral I really held close to me; children were never harmed. Period. Whether that moral extends from my childhood and taking my first life when I was only seven years old, I couldn't tell you. But now at thirty-five years old, those morals still have yet to change. Rarely did I ever look in the mirror at my reflection. What I saw was a disgusting piece of human trash. Someone that had been degraded at such an early age, that which had the power to change me. I've been set in my ways for all these years, never did I imagine that I would see a mere slip of a woman walk into my clubhouse, looking like my wet fucking dream. I hadn't remembered standing up, nor had I remembered walking over to her. What I did remember, was the first time I looked into her eyes. You could say that I had another moral, you don't take another man's woman. And that has held true for three years until I had pulled up and seen a bruise on her beautiful face. Now, though, she was in my house. And it was time for me to take everything she had to give. Would I in turn give her everything I had to give, or would I allow my past to wreck my one and only shot at forever? Because I knew that she was it for me. Would she be my Redemption? Can be read as a standalone. Clearwater's Redemption is the seventh book in the Mountain of Clearwater series of Wrath MC. This book does contain dark scenes. Dominance to an extent. Contains triggers of past rape. Rape isn't okay. Doesn't matter your gender. No means fucking no. No Cliffhanger. No Cheating. Guaranteed HEA.

Book What Is Redemption How Christ s Suffering Saves Us

Download or read book What Is Redemption How Christ s Suffering Saves Us written by Philippe de la Trinite and published by Emmaus Road Publishing. This book was released on 2021-05-07 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is central to the Catholic Faith. But how does the murder of the eternal Son of God by human beings lead to their redemption, not further damnation? During the sixteenth century, as Protestants rejected Catholic doctrine, a new answer to this question was proposed: on the Cross, God the Father subjected His divine Son to the wrath and retribution sinful humanity justly deserved. Having punished His Son in the place of sinners and having exhausted His pent-up anger, the Father could then turn to humanity in love and mercy. This theory—known as “penal substitutionary atonement”—caught on in many Catholic circles and is often the popular understanding of the Cross. Thank God for What Is Redemption? by Philippe de la Trinité, a classic now back in print. This book shows the many fallacies in the penal substitutionary theory of redemption. But that’s not all. Trinité replaces this mistaken theory with the true Catholic doctrine. In dialogue with the saints and doctors of the Church, chiefly St. Thomas Aquinas, he shows why St. John in his Gospel said it was for love—not for wrath—that God sent His only-begotten Son. Carefully distinguishing the key concepts in the doctrine of redemption, he explains the difference between saying that Christ made satisfaction for the sins of the world and saying that Christ suffered the punishment due to every sin. The Cross is not an oppression, but an exaltation—a triumph of divine love.

Charlotte Sticking out like a preacher’s pregnant teenage daughter, I lift myself off the floor and fluff my unconventionally long black hair--a silent f*ck you to the sea of blond that surrounds me. Nothing but a prized possession. A dress-up doll for one of the most powerful men in the country. He may beat me, break me, and make me bleed. But he will never win. Aiden Tasked with protecting that which I despise, I struggle against turning into the monster I vowed I’d never become. How can I do right by her when being near her sets my very soul on fire? She’s a saint and temptress all in one. Unable to separate one from the other, I begin to fall into her, letting her consume my every desire. Will I survive this torture or will her love be my demise?

  • Pages : pages

Download or read book The Atonement written by R.W. Dale and published by Ravenio Books. This book was released on 2013-11-10 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robert William Dale (1829 – 1895) was an English Congregationalist pastor who ministered at Carr's Lane Chapel in Birmingham for over 40 years. His 1875 Lectures on the Atonement have remained in print for almost 150 years. John Stott tells the story of a minister who approached Martyn Lloyd-Jones in the early years of his ministry and observed that the finished work of Christ had little place in his preaching. Lloyd-Jones immediately visited a used bookstore and asked for any volumes on the atonement. The owner brought out James Denney's The Death of Christ and R. W. Dale's The Atonement. To the concern of his wife, Lloyd-Jones locked himself in his room, so absorbed in these two books he refused even to eat. When he emerged several days later, he exclaimed that he had found "the real heart of the gospel and the key to the inner meaning of the Christian faith."

Book Cross Purposes

  • Pages : 288 pages

Download or read book Cross Purposes written by Anthony Bartlett and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-09-20 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This seminal study of the Christian theory of the atonement examines the story of Christian violence. In Cross Purposes, Anthony Bartlett claims that the key Western doctrines of atonement have been dominated by a logic of violence and sacrifice as a means of salvation. Subsequently, the graphic suffering of the crucified in images and narrative has served to unleash a prolonged sacrificial crisis in which there is always a potential need to displace blame. These doctrines of atonement have sanctioned wide-spread violence in the name of Christ throughout history. But Bartlett argues that a minority tradition also exists. He contends that the tradition of the compassion of Christ provides the possible way out of Christian violence. Bartlett's study gives this tradition a dynamic new reading, showing how it undoes both divine and human violence and offers a powerfully transformative version of atonement for the contemporary world. Cross Purposes provides a rich historical and theological overview of the evolution of various atonement theories, using literature, art, and philosophy to provide a creative and provocative reading of Christian atonement. Anthony Bartlett is engaged in post-doctoral research and is an instructor in Religion at Syracuse University. For: Seminarians; clergy; graduate students; professors

Book excerpt: The Atonement is R. W. Dale's exceptional commentary upon the pillar belief of Christianity: that Jesus died for the sins of humanity and was reconciled with His father, the Lord God. Originally, this Biblical study was delivered as a series of lectures to students and believers present at the Congregational Union Memorial Hall in England. R. W. Dale sought to share decades of accumulated study and wisdom to seekers of Christ, and clarify the circumstances and significance of the death of Jesus upon the cross. The treatment given by Dale is thoroughly meticulous and therefore lengthy; in total ten lectures are accompanied by annotations appended as endnotes to each, with further long notes present in the appendix. The Biblical scholarship of R. W. Dale is in full display in this work. Chapter by chapter and verse by verse, we are taken through words pertinent to the death of Jesus and the atonement. Analysis of the Gospels and the appraisal of the Apostle Paul are accompanied with a deeper reading of various Bible passages, plus the meditations of Saint Peter and other Christian figures. The very theology of Christianity is explained at length; Christ declared that His blood be shed for the remission of sins, this phrase alone proving a wellspring for devotion.
