Book Endangered and Threatened Species Final Listing Determinations for 10 Distinct Population Segments of West Coast Steelhead Us National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Regulation Noaa 2018 Edition

Download or read book Endangered and Threatened Species Final Listing Determinations for 10 Distinct Population Segments of West Coast Steelhead Us National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Regulation Noaa 2018 Edition written by The Law Library and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Law Library presents the complete text of the Endangered and Threatened Species - Final Listing Determinations for 10 Distinct Population Segments of West Coast Steelhead (US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Regulation) (NOAA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 We, NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), are issuing final determinations to list 10 Distinct Population Segments (DPSs) of West Coast steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) of 1973, as amended. We are listing one steelhead DPS in California as endangered (the Southern California steelhead DPS), and nine steelhead DPSs in California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho as threatened (the South-Central California Coast, Central California Coast, California Central Valley, Northern California, Lower Columbia River, Upper Willamette River, Middle Columbia River, Upper Columbia River, and Snake River Basin steelhead DPSs). All 10 of these DPSs were previously listed as threatened or endangered species. The Upper Columbia River steelhead DPS, formerly listed as an endangered species, is now being listed as threatened. This ebook contains: - The complete text of the Endangered and Threatened Species - Final Listing Determinations for 10 Distinct Population Segments of West Coast Steelhead (US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Regulation) (NOAA) (2018 Edition) - A dynamic table of content linking to each section - A table of contents in introduction presenting a general overview of the structure

Book South Central California Steelhead Recovery Plan

Download or read book South Central California Steelhead Recovery Plan written by United States. National Marine Fisheries Service. West Coast Region and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 477 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The goal of this Recovery Plan is to prevent the extinction of South-Central California Coast steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in the wild and to ensure the long-term persistence of viable, selfsustaining, populations of steelhead distributed across the South-Central California Coast Steelhead (SCCCS) Distinct Population Segment (DPS). It is also the goal of this Recovery Plan to ensure a sustainable South-Central California steelhead sport fishery through the restoration of a suite of viable steelhead populations across the SCCCS DPS. Recovery of the SCCCS DPS will require the protection, restoration, and maintenance of a range of habitats throughout the DPS in order to allow the natural diversity of O. mykiss to be fully expressed (e.g., anadromous and resident forms, timing and frequency of runs, and dispersal between watersheds)"--Executive Summary.

Book Southern California Steelhead Recovery Plan

This book was released on 2012 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The goal of this Recovery Plan is to prevent the extinction of southern California steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in the wild and to ensure the long-term persistence of viable, self-sustaining, populations of steelhead distributed across the Southern California Distinct Population Segment (DPS). It is also the goal of this Recovery Plan to re- establish a sustainable southern California steelhead sport fishery. Recovery of the DPS will require the protection, restoration, and maintenance of a range of habitats throughout the DPS in order to allow the natural diversity of O. mykiss to be fully expressed (e.g., anadromous and resident forms, timing and frequency of runs, and dispersal between watersheds)"--Executive Summary.

Book Viability Criteria for Steelhead Within the Puget Sound Distinct Population Segment

Download or read book Viability Criteria for Steelhead Within the Puget Sound Distinct Population Segment written by Jeffrey John Hard and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA), the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is required to identify measurable and objective delisting criteria as part of recovery planning. These delisting criteria must describe the conditions under which a listed species or distinct population segment (DPS) is no longer in danger of extinction (endangered) or likely to become so in the foreseeable future (threatened). We define a viable DPS as one that is unlikely to be at risk of extinction in the foreseeable future; for this purpose, we adopted the viable salmonid population (VSP) criterion of a 100-year timeline (McElhany et al. 2000, Viable Salmon Populations and the Recovery of Evolutionarily Significant Units, NOAA Tech. Memo. NMFS-NWFSC-42) to evaluate risk of extinction. Ultimately, the identification of delisting criteria requires the consideration of technical analyses relating to viability, which are contained in this report, and policy decisions such as acceptable levels of risk, which are not. It presents the biological viability criteria recommended by the Puget Sound Steelhead Technical Recovery Team (PSS TRT). The framework and the analyses it supports do not set targets for delisting, nor do they explicitly identify specific populations or groups of populations for recovery priority. Rather, the framework and associated analyses are meant to provide a technical foundation for those charged with recovery of listed steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Puget Sound, from which they can develop effective recovery plans at the watershed scale (and higher) that are based on biologically meaningful criteria."--Page xxi.

Book Final Coastal Multispecies Recovery Plan

Download or read book Final Coastal Multispecies Recovery Plan written by and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The California Coastal Multispecies Recovery Plan was developed for three salmon and steelhead species: the California Coastal (CC) Chinook salmon Evolutionarily Significant Unit (ESU), and the Northern California (NC) and Central California Coast (CCC) steelhead Distinct Population Segments (DPS). The purpose of a recovery plan is to provide a framework for the conservation and survival of the listed species [ESA section 4(f)(1)] that focuses and prioritizes threat abatement and restoration actions necessary to recover, and eventually delist, a species." -- NOAA web page.
