Book Reconciling Dark Matter Dark Energy and two high tides

Download or read book Reconciling Dark Matter Dark Energy and two high tides written by Don Robertson and published by Don Robertson. This book was released on 2017-12-24 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an eight-paged paper that explores our understanding of gravity, black holes, dark energy, dark matter, event horizons, gravity waves, the speed of light, the speed of gravity, grand unifying theories, and the possibility of time waves; each from the perspective of grid systems. There isn't a single equation. This is pure metaphysics, intended to raise questions, and challenge assumptions. To encourage discussion, the paper closes with a new explanation for why there are two high tides, and provides a prediction about how gravity works to cause two high tides. [email protected]

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together reviews from leading international authorities on the developments in the study of dark matter and dark energy, as seen from both their cosmological and particle physics side. Studying the physical and astrophysical properties of the dark components of our Universe is a crucial step towards the ultimate goal of unveiling their nature. The work developed from a doctoral school sponsored by the Italian Society of General Relativity and Gravitation. The book starts with a concise introduction to the standard cosmological model, as well as with a presentation of the theory of linear perturbations around a homogeneous and isotropic background. It covers the particle physics and cosmological aspects of dark matter and (dynamical) dark energy, including a discussion of how modified theories of gravity could provide a possible candidate for dark energy. A detailed presentation is also given of the possible ways of testing the theory in terms of cosmic microwave background, galaxy redshift surveys and weak gravitational lensing observations. Included is a chapter reviewing extensively the direct and indirect methods of detection of the hypothetical dark matter particles. Also included is a self-contained introduction to the techniques and most important results of numerical (e.g. N-body) simulations in cosmology. " This volume will be useful to researchers, PhD and graduate students in Astrophysics, Cosmology Physics and Mathematics, who are interested in cosmology, dark matter and dark energy.

Book Probing Cosmic Dark Matter and Dark Energy with Weak Gravitational Lensing Statistics

Download or read book Probing Cosmic Dark Matter and Dark Energy with Weak Gravitational Lensing Statistics written by Masato Shirasaki and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-11-28 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book the applicability and the utility of two statistical approaches for understanding dark energy and dark matter with gravitational lensing measurement are introduced. For cosmological constraints on the nature of dark energy, morphological statistics called Minkowski functionals (MFs) to extract the non-Gaussian information of gravitational lensing are studied. Measuring lensing MFs from the Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope Lensing survey (CFHTLenS), the author clearly shows that MFs can be powerful statistics beyond the conventional approach with the two-point correlation function. Combined with the two-point correlation function, MFs can constrain the equation of state of dark energy with a precision level of approximately 3–4 % in upcoming surveys with sky coverage of 20,000 square degrees. On the topic of dark matter, the author studied the cross-correlation of gravitational lensing and the extragalactic gamma-ray background (EGB). Dark matter annihilation is among the potential contributors to the EGB. The cross-correlation is a powerful probe of signatures of dark matter annihilation, because both cosmic shear and gamma-ray emission originate directly from the same dark matter distribution in the universe. The first measurement of the cross-correlation using a real data set obtained from CFHTLenS and the Fermi Large Area Telescope was performed. Comparing the result with theoretical predictions, an independent constraint was placed on dark matter annihilation. Future lensing surveys will be useful to constrain on the canonical value of annihilation cross section for a wide range of mass of dark matter annihilation. Future lensing surveys will be useful to constrain on the canonical value of annihilation cross section for a wide range of mass of dark matter.

Book A Ray of Light in a Sea of Dark Matter

Download or read book A Ray of Light in a Sea of Dark Matter written by Charles Keeton and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 2014-04-30 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What’s in the dark? Countless generations have gazed up at the night sky and asked this question—the same question that cosmologists ask themselves as they study the universe. The answer turns out to be surprising and rich. The space between stars is filled with an exotic substance called “dark matter” that exerts gravity but does not emit, absorb, or reflect light. The space between galaxies is rife with “dark energy” that creates a sort of cosmic antigravity causing the expansion of the universe to accelerate. Together, dark matter and dark energy account for 95 percent of the content of the universe. News reporters and science journalists routinely talk about these findings using terms that they assume we have a working knowledge of, but do you really understand how astronomers arrive at their findings or what it all means? Cosmologists face a conundrum: how can we study substances we cannot see, let alone manipulate? A powerful approach is to observe objects whose motion is influenced by gravity. Einstein predicted that gravity can act like a lens to bend light. Today we see hundreds of cases of this—instances where the gravity of a distant galaxy distorts our view of a more distant object, creating multiple images or spectacular arcs on the sky. Gravitational lensing is now a key part of the international quest to understand the invisible substance that surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the universe together. A Ray of Light in a Sea of Dark Matter offers readers a concise, accessible explanation of how astronomers probe dark matter. Readers quickly gain an understanding of what might be out there, how scientists arrive at their findings, and why this research is important to us. Engaging and insightful, Charles Keeton gives everyone an opportunity to be an active learner and listener in our ever-expanding universe. Watch a video with Charles Keeton: Watch video now. Book excerpt: This book should be read like a scientific fiction: indeed, I am an engineer and I am not a physicist and not an astrophysicist. The Theory that I have developed in this book is linked to the time at the level of a high speed moving object. In my equation on the time t at the level of the moving object of mass m, there is also the external gravity MG to m which is defined as an important parameter. And so, all the physics areas where time or gravity is a parameter and when there is a moving object could be interested by my Theory. My equation on the time t at the level of the moving object of mass m allowed me to successfully quantify the effect of gravity in the sense that I can calculate the effect of an external gravity on the internal time t of a moving object (like a spacecraft for example). I found a relationship between t, v, m and MG.I have developed all these points in detail in this book.I have analyzed the two concepts of dark Matter and dark Energy and I have explained the links with my Theory.I have also explained how my Theory could help to bring together the two Theories of theoretical physics which are the Theory of General Relativity and the Theory of Quantum Mechanics.I will show also that long travels into the Space are possible according to my Theory, in the sense that the people who traveled inside the spacecraft could return to our Earth after the very long travel, without having aged, like the people who remained on our Earth. And so, travelers could return to our Earth and find people as they were when they left them! And I will describe the concepts of theoretical speeds, according to my Theory.I have found also 2 other areas where time and gravity are involved and so where there is a link with my Theory: The first one is gravitational waves and the second one is the power of spacecraft engines. And I will explain what could be the links with my Theory.I will also explain how the current physics is respected.

Book Dark Energy and the Formation of the Large Scale Structure of the Universe

Download or read book Dark Energy and the Formation of the Large Scale Structure of the Universe written by Jérôme Gleyzes and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-28 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis presents several significant new results that shed light on two major puzzles of modern cosmology: the nature of inflation, the very early phase of the universe that is thought to have given rise to the large-scale structures that we observe today; and that of the current accelerated expansion. In particular, it develops a clean method for characterizing linear cosmological perturbations for general theories where gravity is modified and/or affected by a new component, called dark energy, responsible for the accelerated expansion. It proposes a new extension to what were long thought to be the most general scalar field theories devoid of instabilities, and demonstrates the robustness of the relation between the energy scale of inflation and the predicted amplitude of gravitational waves. Finally, it consolidates a set of consistency relations between correlation functions of the cosmological density field and investigates the phenomenological consequences of their potential violation. Presented in a clear, succinct and rigorous style, each of these original results is both profound and important and will leave a deep mark on the field.

Download or read book Dark Matter and Dark Energy written by John Spacey and published by John Spacey. This book was released on 2020-11-18 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book should be read like a scientific fiction: indeed, I am an engineer and I am not a physicist and not an astrophysicist. In my 3rd book, "QUANTUM MECHANICS AND GENERAL RELATIVITY", I have explained how the time seems to be the link to bring together the two Theories of theoretical physics which are the Theory of General Relativity and the Theory of Quantum Mechanics. Physicists today believe that in order to achieve a complete unification of the two Theories we must understand and explain in a scientific way what the concepts of dark Matter and dark Energy are. In this book (my 4th), I must therefore analyze these two concepts since I began to want to bring together the two previous Theories. The concepts of dark Matter and dark Energy are related to my equation on the time t inside a moving mass m, located in the gravity field (therefore close) of an external mass MG. I have changed the time t at the level of the mass m by the following time t, and I will explain why these changes: t becomes: t . ( 1/§^2 ) . ( 1 – MG^2 / (m .§ )^2 ) . (1 – Rs^2 / d^2) . And I will also explain in this book the consequences of this modification.

This book was released on 2019-04-01 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to current observations, two mysterious phenomena appear in the universe that science has not yet explained. These are mass or dark matter and dark energy. It is known of the existence of dark matter, among other effects, by the study of the rotation of galaxies where it is appreciated that the outer stars should come out tangentially if only the gravitational force of the mass seen is considered, concluding that there must be a hidden mass or matter, or perhaps some unknown effect that implies greater gravitational force. On the other hand, based on the observations of astronomer Hubble in the twenties of the previous century, it was determined that the universe is expanding from its origin or big-bang , considering that the gravitational force between galaxies causes expansion to be increasingly slower The surprise was that at the end of the last century it was observed that in the distant galaxies there was no retreat but they accelerated, that is, they are increasingly separated more quickly, ignoring the precedence of the energy that produces the effect, to which was named dark energy In this small book a suggestive proposal is exposed describing effects in the movement of bodies of great mass that can be applied to the understanding of the origin of the dark matter and dark energy, considering that in the process of expansion the dark mass is transformed into dark energy, fulfilling the laws of conservation of energy and the linear momentum.

Download or read book Paths to Dark Energy written by Gene Byrd and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2012-07-30 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work provides the current theory and observations behind the cosmological phenomenon of dark energy. The approach is comprehensive with rigorous mathematical theory and relevant astronomical observations discussed in context. The book treats the background and history starting with the new-found importance of Einstein’s cosmological constant (proposed long ago) in dark energy formulation, as well as the frontiers of dark energy. The authors do not presuppose advanced knowledge of astronomy, and basic mathematical concepts used in modern cosmology are presented in a simple, but rigorous way. All this makes the book useful for both astronomers and physicists, and also for university students of physical sciences.

Download or read book DARK MATTER AND DARK ENERGY BLACK HOLES written by John Dark-Physics and published by John Dark-Physics. This book was released on 2023-08-07 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through a short story I will provide answers to some questions that many of us are asking about our Universe. And in particular, I will explain where would be the missing mass of the Universe (the Dark Matter) and what would be the Dark Energy and the Dark Matter. I will also discuss what happens inside a black-hole when a planet is sucked in: I have broken down the global movement into two separate movements... I have analyzed the consequences of my analysis on black-holes for our Universe and the conclusions are very interesting! My analysis allowed me to address the following points: the Energy Density of the Vacuum of the space, the Cosmological Constant, the Hubble Constant, the expansion of our Universe and the acceleration of this expansion, the compatibility links between my Theory and the current physics, … I have also shown the extraordinary power of the Gravity! And I have also shown that far-away travels into the space would be possible, in agreement with my Theory, by reducing the number of obstacles! Finally, I have mentioned the new questions that arise when some answers are found... and in particular what technology to make a spacecraft that could go at a speed close to the speed of light?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity's ongoing quest to unlock the secrets of dark matter and dark energy Heart of Darkness describes the incredible saga of humankind's quest to unravel the deepest secrets of the universe. Over the past forty years, scientists have learned that two little-understood components—dark matter and dark energy—comprise most of the known cosmos, explain the growth of all cosmic structure, and hold the key to the universe's fate. The story of how evidence for the so-called "Lambda-Cold Dark Matter" model of cosmology has been gathered by generations of scientists throughout the world is told here by one of the pioneers of the field, Jeremiah Ostriker, and his coauthor Simon Mitton. From humankind's early attempts to comprehend Earth's place in the solar system, to astronomers' exploration of the Milky Way galaxy and the realm of the nebulae beyond, to the detection of the primordial fluctuations of energy from which all subsequent structure developed, this book explains the physics and the history of how the current model of our universe arose and has passed every test hurled at it by the skeptics. Throughout this rich story, an essential theme is emphasized: how three aspects of rational inquiry—the application of direct measurement and observation, the introduction of mathematical modeling, and the requirement that hypotheses should be testable and verifiable—guide scientific progress and underpin our modern cosmological paradigm. This monumental puzzle is far from complete, however, as scientists confront the mysteries of the ultimate causes of cosmic structure formation and the real nature and origin of dark matter and dark energy.

Book Opening New Windows Onto the Universe

Download or read book Opening New Windows Onto the Universe written by Matthew C. Digman and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The past two centuries have seen tremendous expansion in human understanding of the structure and contents of the universe. Yet, less than 5% of the mass of the universe is contained within particles predicted and explained by the modern Standard Model of particle physics. An even smaller fraction, less than 0.5%, of the mass of the universe is in familiar, tangible objects like planets and stars. With so much of the universe yet obscure to use, we must develop new techniques to observe what our eyes (and telescopes) cannot see directly. In this thesis, I present three papers I have written exploring new windows for observing the hidden aspects of the universe. In the first, presented in Chapter 2, I explore theoretical constraints on models of strongly interacting dark matter. In the second, presented in Chapter 3, I describe a formalism and code I developed to forecast the impact of long-wavelength density fluctuations on future weak lensing surveys. In the third, presented in Chapter 4, I present a forecast for the number of white dwarf binaries that will be detected by both LISA and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.

Book The Great Cosmic Sea of Reality

Download or read book The Great Cosmic Sea of Reality written by Timothy Fulton Johns and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2018-03-06 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, I will attempt to explain very difficult concepts that do in fact have the foundation of scientific studies over several decades. The paper will explain how the work of several scientists have put different pieces of the puzzle in place, but presumably, none of them individually was able to see the bigger picture their piece of the puzzle reveals. This book will explain how the evolution of our planet and its biosphere, which has been well established, is linked and actively evolving with our cosmos through a complex network of powerful morphic fields at all scales. The Earth, like the nucleus of an atom, exists within the cosmos both at different scales; however, both are seemingly adrift in an abyss of the cosmic sea under its control, and both are a very small part of a much larger evolutionary process of our reality yet in constant motion. I will share intuitive ideas or theories that I believe best explain the known facts proven by scientific evidence of the nature of the fabric of our cosmic sea in which we coexist with one another and other worlds, both terrestrial and extraterrestrial.

Book Matter Dark Matter and Anti Matter

Download or read book Matter Dark Matter and Anti Matter written by Alain Mazure and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-11-16 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For over ten years, the dark side of the universe has been headline news. Detailed studies of the rotation of spiral galaxies, and 'mirages' created by clusters of galaxies bending the light from very remote objects, have convinced astronomers of the presence of large quantities of dark (unseen) matter in the cosmos. The most striking fact is that they seem to compromise about 95% of the matter/energy content of the universe. As for ordinary matter, although we are immersed in a sea of dark particles, including primordial neutrinos and photons from fossil cosmological radiation, both we and our environment are made of ordinary, 'baryonic' matter. Authors Mazure and Le Brun present the inventory of matter, baryonic and exotic, and investigating the nature and fate of matter's twin, anti-matter. They show how technological progress has been a result of basic research, in tandem with the evolution of new ideas, and how the combined effect of these advances might help lift the cosmic veil.

Book excerpt: Dark matter and dark energy are two great secrets hidden in the unknown corners of the universe, pushing the boundaries of science and pointing to the depths of human thought. These two cosmic components spur the effort to develop a deeper understanding of the nature of the universe, both scientifically and philosophically, as one of the great mysteries of modern cosmology. This book, titled "Unseen Universe: Unknown Aspects of Dark Matter and Dark Energy", aims to present in detail the steps we have taken towards discovering and understanding these two unknown components. Science is trying to detect the existence of dark matter and dark energy using observational and theoretical tools. The discovery of these components required a re-evaluation of the structural and dynamic aspects of the universe and allowed us to step into areas beyond physical laws that science has not yet fully grasped. While dark matter plays a critical role in shaping the large-scale structure of the universe by determining the gravitational effects of galaxies and galaxy clusters, dark energy profoundly affects cosmic dynamics by increasing the expansion rate of the universe. This book aims to be an important resource in understanding the nature of dark matter and dark energy and their roles in the structure of the universe. In this context, we examine in detail both the basic properties of these two components and their effects on human understanding. Understanding the effects of these two components on scientific, cultural, philosophical and psychological levels is an important step in the quest to unravel the mysteries of the universe. "Observing the light of a star opens a window into the history of the universe. However, the discovery of dark matter and dark energy opens this window to a much wider horizon. This book helps us understand the effects of these unknown components on the large-scale structure and dynamics of the universe." will guide you." This preface conveys to readers the excitement and importance of these profound cosmic discoveries. Each page of the book is part of a journey of discovery that pushes the boundaries of scientific knowledge and expands human understanding, a step towards understanding the most fundamental building blocks of the universe. The effort to unravel the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy shows how science and human thought are progressing in a universal sense and offers us the opportunity to better understand the complex and fascinating nature of the universe. We hope to develop an understanding for everyone who accompanies us on this journey, that glorifies scientific curiosity and the desire to explore, and sheds light on the unknown aspects of the universe. The book "Unseen Universe: Unknown Aspects of Dark Matter and Dark Energy" aims to contribute to the understanding of these great cosmic secrets and to inspire readers about unexplored areas in the depths of the universe.

Book The Bridge to Dark Matter A New Sister Universe Dark Energy Inflatons Quantum Big Bang Superluminal Physics An Extended Standard Model Based on

Download or read book The Bridge to Dark Matter A New Sister Universe Dark Energy Inflatons Quantum Big Bang Superluminal Physics An Extended Standard Model Based on written by Stephen Blaha and published by Blaha Research. This book was released on 2013 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The current major problems in particle physics and astrophysics are the source of possible new features: of The Standard Model, of the nature of Dark Matter, of the nature of Dark Energy, and of the nature of the Big Bang. In this book we propose an extended version of The Standard Model based on earlier work that adds another SU(2)X U(1) symmetry to the usual Standard Model, and an accompanying set of particles that we propose are the constituents of Dark Matter. This additional symmetry follows directly from a geometrical foundation for space-time within a 16 dimensional flat space that we call the Flatverse. Upon introducing a form of quantum coordinates we find that The Standard Model in those coordinates has no infinities, that the Big Bang is finite (no singularity), and that the Dark Energy that fuels the expansion of the universe has inflatons that consist of the imaginary part of the quantum coordinates - a free abelian gauge field. This field first stabilizes the universe in the Big Bang period and then causes a massive inflationary expansion. The complete theory has a remarkable convergence of features that remove infinities, identify the nature of Dark Matter and of Dark Energy, specify a physically acceptable Big Bang, and predict the observed expansion of the universe. In addition we address the recently reported discovery of the Higgs particle that "explains" the origin of the masses of the other elementary particles but does not explain the origin of the Higgs particle mass terms and thus leaves open the ultimate question - What is the origin of mass and inertia? We show that the only final answer can be that it arises as a separation constant in Higgs dynamic equations that include coordinates of this universe and a sister universe. These two 8-dimensional universes are embedded in the 16-dimensional Flatverse. Thus the sister universe is the ultimate source of mass and inertia for our universe. The Flatverse is an absolute reference frame that is consistent with Einstein's General Relativity according to General Relativists. The Flatverse very nicely provides an environment for the two universes - joining them together to provide mass and inertia at their most fundamental level as well as providing, at last, a concrete definition of inertial reference frames. Result: a fundamental synergy between mass, inertia, and inertial frames. In recent weeks major experimental findings on Dark Matter have been presented that at last begin to clarify the nature of Dark Matter and its interactions with "normal" matter. These findings are consistent with a Dark Matter SU(2) X U(1) set of interactions that parallels, to a great extent, the known ElectroWeak interactions of normal matter. We will explore a detailed theory of Dark Matter interactions, and their relation to ElectroWeak interactions in this book. It is based on our previous work. In the previous work we did not specify a relation between ElectroWeak and "DarkWeak" interactions due to the absence of experimental data. With the information now in hand we can develop a detailed relationship. Lastly, the book emphasizes again our belief that the origin of particle physics lies in a combination of Asynchronous Logic and space-time geometry."
