Book ELECTRODEPOSITION D ALLIAGES ZN NI MODIFIES SUR ALLIAGE D ALUMINIUM 2024T3

Download or read book ELECTRODEPOSITION D ALLIAGES ZN NI MODIFIES SUR ALLIAGE D ALUMINIUM 2024T3 written by CLAUDE.. BORIES and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CES TRAVAUX PORTENT SUR L'ETUDE DES PROCESSUS D'ELECTROCRISTALLISATION D'ALLIAGES ZINC-NICKEL DANS DES CONDITIONS SPECIFIQUES AU SUBSTRAT EN ALLIAGE D'ALUMINIUM. NOUS PROPOSONS TOUT D'ABORD, A PARTIR D'ANALYSE PAR DIFFRACTION DES RAYONS X, UN DIAGRAMME DE PHASES ELECTRODEPOSEES DES ALLIAGES ZINC-NICKEL ENTRE 0 ET 20% DE NICKEL OU, CONTRAIREMENT AU DIAGRAMME THERMODYNAMIQUE, LA PHASE DELTA EST ABSENTE ET LES DOMAINES D'EXISTENCE DES PHASES ETA ET GAMMA SONT PLUS ETENDUS. SI LE CHOIX D'ELECTROLYTE DE PH INFERIEUR A 4 PERMET DE LIMITER LA FORMATION D'UNE COUCHE D'OXYDE A L'INTERFACE DEPOT-SUBSTRAT, CETTE CONDITION NECESSAIRE N'EST PAS SUFFISANTE POUR LA SUPPRIMER. NOUS MONTRONS QUE L'ADHERENCE DES REVETEMENTS EST CONDITIONNEE PAR LES PROCESSUS DE GERMINATION ET CROISSANCE DANS LES PREMIERS INSTANTS DE DEPOT. LES REVETEMENTS BIPHASES ETA GAMMA AYANT UNE TENEUR EN NICKEL INFERIEURE A 14% SONT CARACTERISES PAR UNE GERMINATION A TROIS DIMENSIONS DONT LE FAIBLE POUVOIR COUVRANT ENGENDRE L'OXYDATION SIMULTANEE DU SUBSTRAT LORS DE L'ELECTROLYSE ET LA FRAGILISATION DE L'INTERFACE DEPOT-SUBSTRAT. POUR DES ALLIAGES MONOPHASES GAMMA DONT LA TENEUR EN NICKEL EST PLUS ELEVEE, LA GERMINATION A DEUX DIMENSIONS DEVIENT RAPIDEMENT COUVRANTE ET LIMITE L'OXYDATION DU SUBSTRAT, L'ADHERENCE DES REVETEMENTS EST DANS CE CAS MAXIMALE. NOUS MONTRONS LES MODIFICATIONS ENGENDREES PAR LA PRESENCE DE SACCHARINE ADDITIONNEE A L'ELECTROLYTE SUR LES PREMIERS INSTANTS DE GERMINATION, SON EFFET SUR LA TAILLE DE GRAIN ET SUR LES CONTRAINTES RESIDUELLES. NOUS ETUDIONS, PAR LE TRACE DES COURBES DE POLARISATION, LE CARACTERE PROTECTEUR DE CES DEPOTS ET RECHERCHONS UN TRAITEMENT DE CONVERSION CHIMIQUE EN PRESENCE D'UNE MOLECULE ORGANIQUE FAVORISANT LA FORMATION IN SITU D'UN COMPOSE INHIBITEUR DE CORROSION. LA PRESENCE D'UN COMPOSE CHIMISORBE, FORME A PARTIR DE LA 8HYDROXYQUINOLEINE ET DES ESPECES METALLIQUES, MODIFIE LA REACTIVITE DES REVETEMENTS ZINC-NICKEL EN MILIEU CORROSIF EN LIMITANT LES COURANTS DE DISSOLUTION ANODIQUE.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ATMOSPHERIC CORROSION Presents a comprehensive look at atmospheric corrosion, combining expertise in corrosion science and atmospheric chemistry Atmospheric corrosion has been a subject of engineering study, largely empirical, for nearly a century. Scientists came to the field rather later on and had considerable difficulty bringing their arsenal of tools to bear on the problem. Atmospheric corrosion was traditionally studied by specialists in corrosion having little knowledge of atmospheric chemistry, history, or prospects. Atmospheric Corrosion provides a combined approach bringing together experimental corrosion and atmospheric chemistry. The second edition expands on this approach by including environmental aspects of corrosion, atmospheric corrosion modeling, and international corrosion exposure programs. The combination of specialties provides a more comprehensive coverage of the topic. These scientific insights into the corrosion process and its amelioration are the focus of this book. Key topics include the following: Basic principles of atmospheric corrosion chemistry Corrosion mechanisms in controlled and uncontrolled environments Degradation of materials in architectural, transport, and structural applications; electronic devices; and cultural artifacts Protection of existing materials and choosing new ones that resist corrosion Prediction of how and where atmospheric corrosion may evolve in the future Complete with appendices discussing experimental techniques, computer models, and the degradation of specific metals, Atmospheric Corrosion, Second Edition continues to be an invaluable resource for corrosion scientists, corrosion engineers, conservators, environmental scientists, and anyone interested in the theory and application of this evolving field. The book concerns primarily the atmospheric corrosion of metals and is written at a level suitable for advanced undergraduates or beginning graduate students in any of the physical or engineering sciences.

Book Active Protective Coatings

Download or read book Active Protective Coatings written by Anthony E. Hughes and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 429 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers a broad range of materials science that has been brought to bear on providing solutions to the challenges of developing self-healing and protective coatings for a range of metals. The book has a strong emphasis on characterisation techniques, particularly new techniques that are beginning to be used in the coatings area. It features many contributions written by experts from various industrial sectors which examine the needs of the sectors and the state of the art. The development of self-healing and protective coatings has been an expanding field in recent years and applies a lot of new knowledge gained from other fields as well as other areas of materials science to the development of coatings. It has borrowed from fields such as the food and pharmaceutical industries who have used, polymer techniques, sol-gel science and colloidosome technology for a range encapsulation techniques. It has also borrowed from fields like hydrogen storage such as from the development of hierarchical and other materials based on organic templating as “nanocontainers” for the delivery of inhibitors. In materials science, recent developments in high throughput and other characterisation techniques, such as those available from synchrotrons, are being increasing used for novel characterisation – one only needs to look at the application of these techniques in self healing polymers to gauge wealth of new information that has been gained from these techniques. This work is largely driven by the need to replace environmental pollutants and hazardous chemicals that represent risk to humans such as chromate inhibitors which are still used in some applications.

Book Flexoelectricity in Liquid Crystals

Download or read book Flexoelectricity in Liquid Crystals written by Agnes Buka and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2013 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book intends to give a state-of-the-art overview of flexoelectricity, a linear physical coupling between mechanical (orientational) deformations and electric polarization, which is specific to systems with orientational order, such as liquid crystals. Chapters written by experts in the field shed light on theoretical as well as experimental aspects of research carried out since the discovery of flexoelectricity. Besides a common macroscopic (continuum) description the microscopic theory of flexoelectricity is also addressed. Electro-optic effects due to or modified by flexoelectricity as well as various (direct and indirect) measurement methods are discussed. Special emphasis is given to the role of flexoelectricity in pattern-forming instabilities. While the main focus of the book lies in flexoelectricity in nematic liquid crystals, peculiarities of other mesophases (bent-core systems, cholesterics, and smectics) are also reviewed. Flexoelectricity has relevance to biological (living) systems and can also offer possibilities for technical applications. The basics of these two interdisciplinary fields are also summarized.

Download or read book M ssbauer Spectroscopy written by Yutaka Yoshida and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-11-08 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tutorials on Mössbauer Spectroscopy Since the discovery of the Mössbauer Effect many excellent books have been published for researchers and for doctoral and master level students. However, there appears to be no textbook available for final year bachelor students, nor for people working in industry who have received only basic courses in classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, chemistry and materials science. The challenge of this book is to give an introduction to Mössbauer Spectroscopy for this level. The ultimate goal of this book is to give this audience not only a scientific introduction to the technique, but also to demonstrate in an attractive way the power of Mössbauer Spectroscopy in many fields of science, in order to create interest among the readers in joining the community of Mössbauer spectroscopists. This is particularly important at times where in many Mössbauer laboratories succession is at stake. This book will be used as a textbook for the tutorial sessions, organized at the occasion of the 2011 International Conference on the Application of Mössbauer Spectroscopy (ICAME2011) in Tokyo.
