Book excerpt: As newly-appointed agents in Taldor's escalating struggle for succession, the heroes must help their Princess Eutropia build a power base by reclaiming her family's land from squatters--the debased Lotheed family, who feast as their subjects starve and their infrastructure crumbles. Can the heroes infiltrate the high-society of Meratt County through its extravagant balls and tournaments, while secretly undermining Count Bartelby Lotheed's authority, or will their clandestine attempts to repair the damage done and woo allies ultimately lead them to the headsman's blade? "Songbird, Scion, Saboteur" is a Pathfinder Roleplaying Game adventure for 4th-level characters. The adventure continues the War for the Crown Adventure Path, as players drag a once-grand nation kicking and screaming into the modern day, becoming legendary politicians, spymasters, and nobles in their own right. A selection of new monsters, a regional gazetteer of Meratt County, and a new guide to intrigue and managing a cult of personality round out this volume of the Pathfinder Adventure Path. Each monthly full-color softcover Pathfinder Adventure Path volume contains an in-depth adventure scenario, stats for several new monsters, and support articles meant to give Game Masters additional material to expand their campaign. Pathfinder Adventure Path volumes use the Open Game License and work with both the Pathfinder RPG and the world's oldest fantasy RPG.

But she is also the daughter of a witchwoman of the North, who died when she was born, and the Damarians cannot trust her. It is he who at last tells her the truth about her mother, and he also gives over to her hand the Blue Sword, Gonturan. Book Igniting the American Revolution

Download or read book Igniting the American Revolution written by Derek W. Beck and published by Sourcebooks, Inc.. This book was released on 2015-10-06 with total page 482 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "For those who like their history rich in vivid details, Derek Beck has served up a delicious brew in this book....This may soon become everyone's favorite." —Thomas Fleming, author of Liberty! The American Revolution A sweeping, provocative new look at the pivotal years leading up to the American Revolution The Revolutionary War did not begin with the Declaration of Independence, but several years earlier in 1773. In this gripping history, Derek W. Beck reveals the full story of the war before American independence-from both sides. Spanning the years 1773-1775 and drawing on new material from meticulous research and previously unpublished documents, letters, and diaries, Igniting the American Revolution sweeps readers from the rumblings that led to the Boston Tea Party to the halls of Parliament-where Ben Franklin was almost run out of England for pleading on behalf of the colonies-to that fateful Expedition to Concord which resulted in the shot heard round the world. With exquisite detail and keen insight, Beck brings revolutionary America to life in all its enthusiastic and fiery patriotic fervor, painting a nuanced portrait of the perspectives, ambitions, people, and events on both the British and the American sides that eventually would lead to the convention in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. Captivating, provocative and inspiring, Igniting the American Revolution is the definitive history of these landmark years in our nation's history, whose events irrevocably altered the future not only of the United States and England, but the whole world. " Integrating compelling personalities with grand strategies, political maneuverings on both sides of the Atlantic, and vividly related incidents, Igniting the American Revolution pulls the reader into a world rending the British Empire asunder." Samuel A. Forman, author of the biography Dr. Joseph Warren

Book Duel for the Crown

Download or read book Duel for the Crown written by Linda Carroll and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2014-04-22 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A gripping look at the great duel between Affirmed, the last horse to win the Triple Crown—comprised of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes—and his archrival, Alydar. From the moment they first galloped head-to-head in Saratoga Springs, the two chestnut colts showed they were the stuff of racing legend. Alydar, all muscle with a fearsome closing kick, was already the popular favorite to win the Kentucky Derby. Affirmed, deceptively laid-back streamlined elegance, was powered forward by his steely determination not to settle for second place. In the Sport of Kings, the Triple Crown is the most valued prize, requiring a horse to win not just one race, but three: the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes. And 1978 would not be just for the record books, but also one of the greatest dramas ever played out in the racing world. There were names to conjure with, worthy of the Sport of Kings. The bloodline of Native Dancer. The teen wonderboy jockey Steve Cauthen. The once unbeatable Calumet Farm—the Damn Yankees of the racing world—now in eclipse and hoping for a comeback. The newcomer Harbor View Farm—owned by brash financier Louis Wolfson, who wouldn’t let even a conviction and a prison sentence for securities violations stand in the way of his dreams of glory. And the racetracks themselves: Belmont, Saratoga, Pimlico. And, of course, Churchill Downs. It has been thirty-five years since Affirmed and Alydar fought for the Triple Crown, thirty-five years when no other horse has won it. Duel for the Crown brings this epic battle to life. Not just two magnificent Thoroughbreds but the colorful human personalities surrounding them, caught up in an ever-intensifying battle of will and wits that lasted until the photo finish of the final Triple Crown race . . . and Alydar and Affirmed leaped into the history books.

Book excerpt: God has been so persistent in our lives. He's been persistent in loving us, forgiving us, providing for us, covering us, protecting us, and giving us back our crowns that the world and many other broken Queens have managed to tilt or snatch away through their own pain. But things can change if we simply learn to love, forgive, cover, and encourage one another just as Christ has done for us. We must remember that our truest identity is in who we really are; not in the illusion of who we Hope will be Accepted! So, even when her crown is tilted; Straighten it. If it falls; Pick it up and place it back on her head. If she feels unworthy; remind of her who she is in Christ. But whatever you do, don't you dare take it. Give her back her crown!

Book Crown condition Classification

Download or read book Crown condition Classification written by and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) Program of the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, conducts a national inventory of forests across the United States. A systematic subset of permanent inventory plots in 38 States is currently sampled every year for numerous forest health indicators. One of these indicators, crown-condition classification, is designed to estimate tree crown dimensions and assess the impact of crown stressors. The indicator features eight tree-level field measurements in addition to variables traditionally measured in conjunction with FIA inventories: vigor class, uncompacted live crown ratio, crown light exposure, crown position, crown density, crown dieback, foliage transparency, and crown diameter. Indicators of crown health derived from the crown data are intended for analyses at the State, regional, and national levels, and contribute to the core tabular output in standard FIA reports. Crown-condition measurements were originally implemented as part of the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) Program in 1990. Except for crown diameter, these measurements were continued when the FIA Program assumed responsibility for FHM plot-based detection monitoring in 2000. This report describes in detail the data collection and analytical techniques recommended for crown-condition classification.

Download or read book The Crown s Servants written by G. E. Aylmer and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2002-05-30 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Crown's Servants is a major new study of English central government and the royal court from the Restoration of the monarchy in 1660 to the death of Charles II in 1685. A sequel to the author's two earlier studies, of royal officials under Charles I (1625-1642) and office-holders under the Commonwealth and the Cromwellian Protectorate (1649-1660), it sets out to explore the extent to which the restoration of the monarchy undid the changes brought about under the Republic. The author looks at the institutions of government, its methods and procedures, the terms and conditions of service, and its personnel both collectively and individually. He considers the policies, tasks, successes, and failures of the regime, and relates these to the process of state formation and to the impact of the state on society. This is both the culmination of a lifetime's work and a crucial contribution in its own right to the history of seventeenth century England and the development of English government.

Book Valley of Dry Bones Live Again Rebuilding the Walls of Your Torn Down Life

This book was released on 2019-05 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you ready to rebuild the walls of your life? Tear down the old walls and build anew. I am ready to rebuild the walls of my life. There's no need to feel burdened or discouraged because the walls of your life have been torn down. Let us take encouragement from Nehemiah and other biblical characters, as encouragement on how to pursue not just strong walls, but God Himself, who is our fortress and deliverer. God is our stronghold, our deliverer. He is our fort, our bastion. God is our castle and our citadel. Failure is not fatal. One mistake doesn't make you a loser. You are not a mistake. A mistake is what you did not what you are. Our scars represent strength not weakness. Yes they can and they will be a great army in the name of Jesus. Your situation may look as hopeless as it did for the Assyrians but I can almost guarantee. What God has is for you. Even though your blessings may delayed I believe in my heart they your blessings won't be denied. Abundance and blessings are on the way! In Jesus Name.
