Book Pay Equity a New Approach to a Fundamental Right

Download or read book Pay Equity a New Approach to a Fundamental Right written by Canada. Pay Equity Task Force and published by Canadian Government Publishing. This book was released on 2004 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the report of a task force whose basic objective was to conduct a comprehensive review of the current equal pay provisions of the Canadian Human Rights Act, section 11, as well as the Equal Wages Guidelines of 1986. Work of the task force included consultations, public hearings, roundtables, private meetings, research, and a symposium to provide information about the wide range of issues relevant to a review of pay equity legislation. The first four chapters review wage inequalities in Canada & within designated groups in the labour market, the Canadian legislative response to wage inequality, the current pay equity model and its limitations, and proactive models & legislation in the public sectors of various provinces. Chapter 5 outlines a model that the task force recommends to replace the current legislation. Subsequent chapters address issues which arise in connection with this proposed model, including the scope of application, the elements of a pay equity plan, employee participation, predominance of certain groups in job classes, evaluating gender-predominant job classes, estimating & correcting wage gaps, allowable exemptions, maintenance of pay equity, enforcement, timelines & transition to new legislation, pay equity and collective bargaining, and the role of oversight agencies. Recommendations made throughout the report are also listed at the end. Appendices include excerpts from relevant legislation.

Book Promoting Equity

Download or read book Promoting Equity written by Marie-Thérèse Chicha and published by International Labor Office. This book was released on 2008 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Significant gender disparities in pay are amongst the most resilient features of labour markets. Even though the gender pay gap has narrowed in some places, women, on average, continue to work for a lower pay than men. This gender pay gap has many causes and sex discrimination in remuneration is one of them. For an objective and fair assessment of jobs, evaluation methods must be free from gender bias. This step-by-step guide sets out the various methodological components of the process and explains the criteria, which should be met in order to avoid discriminatory practices. It can be adapted to different economic and organizational contexts and to large and small enterprises. The guide is aimed at workers' and employers' organizations, officers of Equal Opportunity Bodies, human resource managers, gender specialists and pay equity practitioners responsible for implementing a pay equity program

Download or read book R fl chir sur notre pass pour aborder notre avenir written by Serge Joyal and published by McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. This book was released on 2019-03-04 with total page 609 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book L valuation des emplois et l implantation de l quit salariale written by Ximena Arteaga and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book L quit salariale tape par tape written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
