Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the author of The Imminent Rise of West Africa, published in 2015, I had the epiphany to write this second book. Immediately, the opportunity arrived. I foresaw the moral imperative and audaciously quantum stepped ahead and developed the duplex leadership and the authoritative capacity and courage to pinpoint the appreciable design of the postmodern twenty-first century massive and smarter commanding, empire-building institution, as they relate to the creation of the new postmodern twenty-first century innovative educational economic blueprint. Besides, as the postmodern twenty-first-century African thinker, transformative entrepreneurial evangelist, and a smarter, industrious, commanding, empire-building institutionalist, my optimum and passionate intent is to revolutionary awaken the future West African superstate regionalism and the future African superb continental economic powerhouse to solidify the impeccable rise of the African bottom billion’s economic empire. Globally, the African region is the fastest, overpowering population growth in the world and will still be the largest by the end of this century. The book boldly elaborates the emerging economic-wheel revolution, the new formidable economic structural blueprint for deliberately engineered-route to the on-demand economy and on-demand labor and immediate engagement and enlargement of the service economy in a massive scale and efficiently be able to accommodate the huge rise of the population growth in the West African region and Africa. Conventionally, in the realm of humanity, it takes an unbelievable, tremendous energetic capacity to push the human race forward. It demands a powerfully stronger force. Apparently, the individual-current nations alone in the West African region and Africa are not standardized utility for this astronomical, ambitious, and adventurous humankind undertaking; each lacks the kind of postmodern twenty-first century’s marvelous strength or capability to fuel the new necessary economic revolutionary order. However, the individual-current structural nation-states in West Africa and Africa are the preliminary stage for preparing the incarnation of a massive and smarter industrious commanding, empire-building institution for every corner of African society. It is an architectural manipulation of the economic living standard of humanity.

Book Season of Rains

Download or read book Season of Rains written by Stephen Ellis and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Africa is playing a more important role in world affairs than ever before. Yet the most common images of Africa in the American mind are ones of poverty, starvation, and violent conflict. But while these problems are real, that does not mean that Africa is a lost cause. Instead, as Stephen Ellis explains in Season of Rains, we need to rethink Africa’s place in time if we are to understand it in all its complexity—it is a region where growth and prosperity coexist with failed states. This engaging, accessible book by one of the world’s foremost researchers on Africa captures the broad spectrum of political, economic, and social foundations that make Africa what it is today. Ellis is careful not to position himself in the futile debate between Afro-optimists and Afro-pessimists. The forty-nine diverse nations that make up sub-Saharan Africa are neither doomed to fail nor destined to succeed. As he assesses the challenges of African sovereignties, Ellis is not under the illusion that governments will suddenly become more benevolent and less corrupt. Yet, he sees great dynamism in recent technological and economic developments. The proliferation of mobile phones alone has helped to overcome previous gaps in infrastructure, African retail markets are becoming integrated, and banking is expanding. Businesses from China and emerging powers from the West are investing more than ever before in the still land-rich region, and globalization is offering possibilities of enormous economic change for the growing population of one billion Africans, actively engaged in charting the future of their continent. This highly readable survey of the continent today offers an indispensable guide to how money, power, and development are shaping Africa’s future.

Book Know the Beginning Well

Download or read book Know the Beginning Well written by Kingsley Y. Amoako and published by . This book was released on 2019-11 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "With this book, the author offers a personal look at some of the landmark policies, people, and institutions that have shaped Africa's post-independence history-and will continue to shape its future. It is a true inside account-told from a very personal perspective-of the evolution of African development over the last five decades. The book is set in four parts, each going behind the scenes to shed new light on key points in development history over that time period: The first part, "Inside the Bank," focuses on the author's early career at the World Bank, a monolithic institution that effectively held the future of Africa in its hands yet employed very few Africans. The book explores the World Bank's changing attitudes-reflected in both its internal culture and its external approach to African development-from the 1970s into the 1990s. Part two, "In Africa," underscores the value of strong, capable institutions as agents of change. The author's arrival in 1995 as the head of the UN's Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the oldest pan-African institution on the continent, coincided with the start of an exhilarating time of economic and political reform in the region-and a time when Africa began to reassert control over its future. The third part, "Around the World," goes behind the scenes of some of the bold, African-owned initiatives-including the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM)-that accompanied the continent's rise to the top of the global development agenda in the new millennium-and laid the foundation for a new dynamic between Africa and the developed world. The final part, "Into the Future," envisions a hopeful but realistic outcome for Africa, exploring in particular two of the most critical needs for the continent's long-term growth: economic transformation and strong, principled leadership"--

Book Africa in the New World

Download or read book Africa in the New World written by Jakkie Cilliers and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world is currently experiencing a massive change in the balance of power as influence and industry shift from the West to the East. Whilst African developments will not become a substantive driver and factor in global scenarios in the next two or three decades, the importance of the region will steadily increase. This monograph looks at key shifts that will determine the future of Africa in the world. The first four 'megatrends' constitute those external developments that will impact upon Africa and over which it has little control, namely the global shift of power from West to East, the impact of climate change, globalisation, and state power and interdependence and complexity. The second set of 'African variables' reflects domestic developments: Africa's population dynamics, trade, democratisation/ governance, and peace and stability. Collectively the two sets of factors provide a glimpse of the possible emerging futures for the continent. Africa's future will be determined by its leadership and the choices that are made by Africa's elected and unelected Big Men -- not by the size of their ideas, but in the example they set in the daily decisions about contacts, conflict of interest and democratic accountability.

Book Diplomatic Inspiration

Download or read book Diplomatic Inspiration written by and published by Ishmael A Ngu. This book was released on with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leadership is hard. Leading a colorful and diverse people as Africans is harder still because all Africans are leaders. But if leaders lead the African people as peasants, instead of leading them as leaders, wouldn’t that be a mistake? Besides leadership, Africa faces many macro challenges. Though, talent is evenly distributed in the world, opportunity is not. But, Africans possess the human and social capital to create opportunities. To give African inspiration space to live and breed innovation and reform. For this to work, a point of reference is necessary. One that: - · - Converges and enables a focused discussion of ideas from three groups of stakeholders · - Encourages a discussion of values and interests for creative problem solving · - Mitigates the perceptive disparity among different groups of stakeholders · - Engages citizens and their conversations in every aspect of the nation building process · - Inspires stakeholders to craft a radiant vision that can be reproduced · - Can be used to craft measures for tracking ongoing communication and development Diplomatic Inspiration suggests ideas for inspiring active and passive stakeholders and for equipping young Africans, the future leaders of Africa, to think differently. It’s not just time for Africa. It has ALWAYS been Africa’s time.

Book Rainbow of Hope for Africas Future Fdi in Africa

Download or read book Rainbow of Hope for Africas Future Fdi in Africa written by Saidy V. Andrade and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-04-20 with total page 512 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Africa is the birthplace of humanity. In a sense, the continent's history is a macrocosm of all history, bearing the weight humankind's most unforgiveable sins, from slavery to colonialism to environmental malevolence. But today, at the dawn of a new millennium, Africa's most important narrative is not of history. It is of the future. That story - told here with clarity and scope - is one of hope, dynamism, and a relentless march towards progress. Factors that were once considered detriments to Africa's progress are now its greatest strength. The legacy of colonial domination that once saw strife in its wake today translates into pan-African resilience and resolve. A footprint of neglect by industrial powers that left the continent wanting for much-needed investment for so many years now means that most of Africa's resources are still in the ground, left to be harnessed in more responsible - and more indigenous - ways. A lack of infrastructure during the telephonic boom of yesteryear hamstrung African's inclusion in global commerce; today it is a deft advantage, as Africans embrace wireless and smart technology unencumbered by legacy electronics and protectionist incumbent providers. We live in a world where the traditional global powers are stuttering under the weight of social discontent, political partisanship, declining demographics, and a creeping skepticism of economic engagements and integration. Africa as a whole stands in refreshing contrast. Its young population is more open and exposed to the world than at any point in history. Regional economic unions are in their heyday, from the East African Community (EAC) to the Southern African Development Corridor (SADC) to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). And entrepreneurs, like this book's author, stand united in promoting a vision of hope. The challenges, it must be acknowledged, are mammoth. At least half the continent does not have electricity. Financial inclusion is lower than anywhere on the planet. And many of Africa's political structures still embody the plutocratic corruption and instability that have scared away potential investors for decades. But Africa's new generation seems to implicitly understand the Norman Vincent Peale dictum: "Every problem has in it the seeds of its own solution." A desperate need for electrification - combined with abundant sun and water - is driving a renewable-energy breakaway, potentially positioning Africa as a vanguard of the world's most important epochal shift. Massive numbers of unbanked people spurred the development of mobile money, a technology pioneered in East Africa that is not only changing the financial landscape of the continent but also being adopted globally. And countries like Botswana and Cape Verde, (the latter being the author's mother country) are emerging as increasingly visible and influential models of peaceful, transparent democracies. As Peale said, if you don't have problems, you don't get any seeds. The following is a comprehensive look at Africa's many seeds, told by an African who himself is a headspring of the optimism and ambition he narrates. These pages hold a first-hand account of lessons learned, a look at the influence of the current geopolitical complexities, a roadmap for the way forward, and a source of actionable information for those considering investing or doing business on the continent. It is a story for the future, of countries on the rise, and of the latest-and potentially last-frontier of global business. It is as important for the global economy as it is for the everyday citizens who populate this emerging continent called Africa. I hope that many read it. by Leland Rice Editor in Chief The Business Year www.thebusinessyear.com
