Book excerpt: In this installment of The Rainbow Detective Agency, Blair and Proctor's passionate relationship has moved forward to the point where they begin a small family and don't even realize it. And that's because they're busy trying to solve the case of a well-known gay romance author, E. Q. Montana, who was so obsessed with Proctor he lined the walls of his unkempt West Hollywood apartment with Proctor's photos. But E. Q. Montana wasn't just any best-selling gay romance author. E. Q. had a few deep dark secrets and enemies of his own that Proctor and Blair have to figure out, one of which has to do with The Scottish Duke of Huntley. It's a peculiar case of dangerous literary subterfuge, with sudden twists and vicious, ambitious authors, that has them both stumped emotionally and intellectually, and in the end Proctor's worst nightmare comes true.

Along the way, they experience a few interesting erotic events, one of which happens in a bathhouse with four hot young men. But is there really something magical about Alonzo, and will Proctor and Blair be able to help keep him from harm? Book excerpt: Written by Lambda-Award winning author Ryan Field, A Starr Is Born is a queer retelling of an old rags to riches trope that’s been reinterpreted many times, but this time it’s totally different with gay main characters, a gay love story, and a gay male point of view. It’s partly a light-hearted parody and partly sarcasm. It’s also highly erotic and charged with authentic, emotional gay male romance. From the day they meet for the first time until the day their lives change forever, Harrison Parker and Morton Starr were destined for greatness—and each other. A Starr is Born follows the paths of handsome, badly-behaving rock star Harrison Parker and sexy gender-bending performer Morton Starr, who is just starting his career. Morton is so madly in love with his husband, Harrison, he’ll do anything to please him, including overlooking all his self-destructive issues. However, as openly gay Morton gains more fame and success in the mainstream with his popular gay love songs and his unique gender-bending image, and Harrison continues to slide downhill, there comes a point where everything has to change. And when that climax finally happens, Morton isn’t certain about anything in his future or his marriage.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Its starting to get to me. Almost daily we hear about acts of violence towards women and children. It was some of the worst examples of this that motivated me to start writing this book. There are more motivations. They are mostly things that society has become accepting of because they seem to be the norm. They are the things that make me want to shout; Hey this is wrong. We shouldnt just accept it because everyone else is doing it. And there are so many things I want to tell my grandchildren about navigating a path through life that follows the example Jesus set. Mostly, they are about avoiding a lifetime of mistakes - the same mistakes I made. But what kid wants to listen to a lecture by an old man, regardless of how much they love him. After all, he belongs to a bygone era and doesnt really understand what its like to grow up in these modern times. So I have composed a little story that allows me to share an old mans advice with his grandchildren, and yours, and all their parents as well. Its a story of friendship, love and loss in a modern era; in fact, whichever era they are growing up in. I know it is an ageless story because it talks about living a life that simply follows the example that Jesus set over two thousand years ago. It has not changed in all that time, and will not change until He comes again. Its all about doing life in a broken world, but living a life that makes a difference.

He wondered as he sipped his beer, what ancestral dance had produced such impish racoon eyes -eyes she was fond of hiding behind oversized sunglasses that only served to emphasise her nose, a perfect minature. Book excerpt: In this bestselling book that inspired the hit movie by the same name, starring Frank Sinatra, an apparent suicide forces a PI to reconsider his most famous case Joe Leland returned from World War II with a chest full of medals, but his greatest honor came after he traded his pilot’s wings for a detective’s shield. Catching the Leikman killer made Joe a local hero, but the shine quickly wore off, and it wasn’t long before he left the police force to start his own private agency. Years after his greatest triumph, Joe has a modest income and a quiet life—both of which may soon fall apart. When Colin MacIver dies at the local racetrack, the coroner rules that he took his own life, but his widow knows better. Because MacIver’s life insurance policy doesn’t cover suicide, his wife is left broke, desperate, and afraid for her safety. She hires Leland to find out who could have killed her gentle, unassuming husband—a simple question that will turn this humble city inside out.
