Book Rahanni Celestial Healing

Download or read book Rahanni Celestial Healing written by Carol Anne Stacey and published by . This book was released on 2008-11 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing up in the 40s and 50s spiritual or hands-on healing wasn't discussed within a family, and not much was written about this practice. Because my father had been able to heal I suppose it wasn't alien to me. In fact it seemed quite normal. Alas dear Dad passed to spirit age 26, but I am sure he stayed on this earth long enough to see me on my spiritual journey. What a journey! Losing my Dad at the age of 2 years is painful enough, but to go through experience after experience, well sometimes you have to say to yourself, how many more times do I have to go through this. It is not until you become more enlightened that you begin to realise why all these situations happen. That doesn't make it any easier, but you do feel that at some point in your life 'things' must even themselves out. Of course I now know why I had to experience the pain and the negative; it's to get me where I am now. How could I possibly have empathy and understanding if I hadn't been there and done that? This is what has made me the person I am today, caring and compassionate. I have had the most incredible journey, especially the last 20 years. To be introduced to Archangels, Angels and Ascended Masters, so many 'Higher Beings' of Light. It has been wonderful and amazing. This is my amazing story of sadness and pain but leading to love, joy and a spiritual understanding that is beyond religion but is our natural essence. I sincerely hope this book will give a message of hope to all who are suffering at this present time. I wish you Love, Light and Joy.

Book excerpt: What exactly is enlightenment and how can this state of awareness be achieved without struggle? These are the most important questions that members of the New-Age movement currently face and this is the book which answers them. As the mind-body-spirit consciousness that has emerged from the New-Age movement begins to permeate mainstream awareness, it sends out a plea: that this movement examines, and accepts, the limitations of its present practices. This book is a calling, written to stir the reader from slumber and to invite them ‘home’ in the fastest way possible. It teaches how healing and meditation practices will be made more spiritually expanding - and so more safe and effective - by adopting a ‘consciousness-first’ approach. ,

This book was released on 2019-11-22 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Heart Blown Open chronicles the extraordinary journey of Zen master Jun Po Denis Kelly Roshi, whose life landed him in prison long before he landed in a monastery. Experience the successes and failures that led him to found an entirely new form of Buddhism called Mondo Zen. Starting from an abusive and alcoholic home in Wisconsin, Kelly becomes a major force in the counterculture of the 1960s and one of its biggest manufacturers of LSD. He ends up on the run for five years before serving time in a federal prison, and then goes on to spend six years in a Zen monastery. In his fiftieth year, he becomes a recognized Zen master in his own right, but the real journey is just about to begin. Extraordinary in their playfulness, depravity, and liberating insight, Jun Po's life events swirl together to underscore and illuminate the environment from which one of the most controversial masters of the American Zen scene has emerged. A Heart Blown Open constitutes a powerful synthesis of Eastern contemplative wisdom and Western psychological insight and is as entertaining as it is inspirational.

Book The Art of Celtic Seership

Download or read book The Art of Celtic Seership written by Caitlín Matthews and published by National Geographic Books. This book was released on 2021-03-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study of Celtic visionary methods, from second sight and prophecy to reading omens and making divinations, which includes description of ancient practices as well as activities to encourage these skills in ourselves. In the ancient realm of the Celts, the seer was a person who opened a window to reveal a complete view of the cosmos, in which the otherworld and the everyday world interconnect. This was the essence of true perception and wisdom, known as gléfiosa, or 'bright knowledge'. For the seer, the babbling of the stream, the swaying of treetops in the wind, the hunting and foraging of animals are all brimful of deeper meaning. The Art of Celtic Seership shows how to connect with this visionary wisdom, nurture it in ourselves and harness it to live in harmony with each other and with the earth, and to bring profound insight and understanding to our day-to-day existence. It describes the tools and techniques of the druids, bards and seers of old, and explains how we too can draw inspiration from the natural world and open ourselves to developing our prophetic and visionary powers. Practical exercises include calling upon your ancestors, working with your dreams, cultivating a connection with the faery folk, experimenting with trance states, entering into the consciousness of the stones, trees and other natural features around you, asking a question of the universe and listening to the reply and reading omens and signs in the symbols you encounter through the day.

Book excerpt: Ashrams in Europe twenty-five hundred years ago? Greek philosophers studying in India? Meditation classes in ancient Rome? It sounds unbelievable, but it’s historically true. Alexander the Great had an Indian guru. Pythagoras, Empedocles, and Plotinus all encouraged their students to meditate. Apollonius, the most famous Western sage of the first century c.e., visited both India and Egypt—and claimed that Egyptian wisdom was rooted in India. In Lost Masters, award-winning author Linda Johnsen, digging deep into classical sources, uncovers evidence of astonishing similarities between some of the ancient Western world’s greatest thinkers and India’s yogis, including a belief in karma and reincarnation. Today ancient Greek philosophers are remembered as the founders of Western science and civilization. We’ve forgotten that for over a thousand years they were revered as sages, masters of spiritual wisdom. Lost Masters is an exploration of our long-lost Western spiritual heritage and the surprising insights it can offer us today.

Book Philosophy That Works

Download or read book Philosophy That Works written by David M. Wolf MA and published by Philosophy That Works. This book was released on 2003-10 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are statements of fact true or only more or less useful? This question is of vital importance, because it cuts to the core of the nature of truth; it leads to decisive choices in modern philosophy. Beneath the concept ́truth ́ serious problems defy and resist philosophic analysis; revealing and resolving them is the early focus of PHILOSOPHY THAT WORKS. The way things are, people mix up what they mean by ́truth ́ and get bound up in fallacies that condemn human knowledge to seeminly pointless relativism. But an adequate understanding of ́truth ́ transforms philosophy and individual undertanding, improves thinking itself, and strengthens education, organizations, and society. Showing how so much progress is possible is the business end of this book, the payoff of its thoughtful investigations into truth and knowledge. PHILOSOPHY THAT WORKS is an intellectual adventure, an impassioned story about navigating philosophy from its backwaters down a great river of advancing civilization. The philosopher, disillusioned with academic philosophies, begins an investigation into the many meanings of truth. He makes a lasting discovery that changes what philosophy itself can achieve and what it can mean. He faces daunting tasks but reconfigures philosophy; confusion concerning truth resolves into clear understanding. Who should join the adventure'. Not only philosophers. This is a book for everyone who likes to think. It has power, narrative conviction, and a soulful center that resonates through its pages. (From the Introduction) "...Albert Einstein once mentioned that humanity cannot solve its vexing problems at the same level of thought that produced the crisis. A higher level of thinking will require a philosophic transformation. That ́s what Philosophy That Works is all about. Despite postmodern skepticism, a simplistic true and false outlook on reality remains the commonplace of a civilization; this is the level that has produced the crisis. This book describes a basic change in the dominant paradigm of the age. It shows that a colossal mistake underlies the commonsense outlook, an error that has prevented consensus about what is real and, therefore, what life can mean: it penetrates the problem to its heart..."

Book An Antidote to Violence

Download or read book An Antidote to Violence written by Barry Spivack and published by John Hunt Publishing. This book was released on 2020-06-26 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It’s widely accepted that Transcendental Meditation (TM) can create peace for the individual, but can it create peace in society as a whole? And if it can, what could possibly be the mechanism? In An Antidote to Violence Barry Spivack and Patricia Anne Saunders examine the peer-reviewed research and suggest that TM can influence the collective consciousness of a society which leads to a decrease in negative social trends, such as a decline in war fatalities, and to an increase in cooperation between nations. Weaving together psychology, sociology, philosophy, statistics, politics, physics and meditation, An Antidote to Violence provides evidence that we have the knowledge to reduce all kinds of violence in society.
