Download or read book Radio Telephony for Everyone The Wireless written by Laurence M. Cockaday and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-25 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Radio-Telephony for Everyone; The Wireless: How to Construct and Maintain Modern Transmitting and Receiving Apparatus In the latter half of the nineteenth century Hertz began his all-important experiments with high voltage sparks which finally culminated in his discovery of the vibration or wave through space which occurred when these sparks took place. These waves through the ether now bear his name. Hertzian waves, they are called, and it is by their use that radio is made possible. Marconi, a very brilliant young man, was much interested in the work that Hertz had been doing, and began experimenting along similar lines himself. After some original and daring experiments in this new field opened out by Hertz's work, Marconi conceived of the idea of an apparatus which would detect the presence of these waves. After many trials he developed a crude apparatus which would do this over small distances. He then started in and, by sheer genius and hard work, gave us the child of his brain which he called the wireless telegraph. Book Survival Communications in Kansas

Download or read book Survival Communications in Kansas written by John Parnell and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2012-07-28 with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perhaps you have prepared for WTSHTF or TEOTWAWKI with respect to food, water, self-defense and shelter. But what about communication? Whenever there is a disaster (hurricane, earthquake, economic collapse, nuclear war, EMF, solar eruption, etc.), the normal means of communication that we're all reliant upon (cell phone, land line phone, the Internet, etc.) will probably be, at best, sporadic and at worst, non-existent. As this author sees it, short of smoke signals and mirrors, there are three options for communication in “trying times”: (1) GMRS or FRS radios; (2) CB radios; and (3) ham or amateur radio. In this book he considers each of these options to come up with the most acceptable one. Included in this volume are the names and addresses of the approximately 11,400 FCC licensed amateur operators in Kansas, organized by city, then sorted by street, then sorted by house number ... just in case.

Book Prepper Communications the Easy Way

Download or read book Prepper Communications the Easy Way written by Craig Buck and published by . This book was released on 2022-03 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some preppers are satisfied with easing the inconvenience of a few days without power. Others are ready for years of travail. This book assumes no cell service, no phones, no internet, and no power. That drastic scenario is realistic enough for all levels of preparation. Wherever you fall on the apocalyptic spectrum, communication is critical. Imagine being hunkered in your bunker and wondering, "Does New York City still exist?" Sobering thought. At the most basic level, you need to hear what is happening in the world around you. How will you contact others for aid and support? Don't limit your horizon to how loud you can yell. Radio is your source of information and medium of communication. This book is about radio and covers everything you need when all else fails. Topics include basic radio theory, licensed and unlicensed radio services, operating protocols, choosing equipment, repeaters, antennas, power supplies, batteries, solar power, EMP, and troubleshooting. Written by Craig Buck, K4IA, an experienced Amateur Radio operator and author of the popular EasyWayHamBooks.com license and operating manuals. No prior engineering or radio experience is required. This book shows you "The Easy Way" to be prepared.
