Book Rabindranath Tagore amar Chitra Katha

Download or read book Rabindranath Tagore amar Chitra Katha written by Kalyanaksha Banerjee and published by ACK Media. This book was released on 1977 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rabindranath Tagore played a significant role in bringing about a new awakening in India in the latter half of the nineteenth century. His life and creative work provided the then Indian society with a purpose, direction and a programme. The impact of his personality transcended his native Bengal and came to be felt not only in other parts of India but also abroad. Tagore was a genius with a many-sided personality. He was a poet, novelist, dramatist, musician, short-story writer, teacher, painter, educationist, philosopher and humanist. Shri Khanolkar, his biographer, describes his life as 'a long dream of colour and music, of beauty and heavenly genius, such as this world has never known before'. Perhaps no other contemporary Indian had such diverse interests as Tagore had. He was a seeker. He wanted to understand himself; and that he could only do by expressing himself. As the experiences and emotions differed, the media also varied. That is how we have Tagore the poet, Tagore the composer, Tagore the painter and so on. Although a staunch nationalist, Tagore was a champion of internationalism, touring various countries and pleading for 'one world'. He has the unique distinction of being the only poet to have two of his songs - Jana Gana Mana and Amar Sonar Bangla - adopted as the national anthem of two countries, India and Bangladesh respectively. Shanti-Niketan stands to this day as a living monument to the Gurudev. He composed over 4,000 songs. His compositions have come to be known as Rabindra Sangeet.

Book She

Download or read book She written by Rabindranath Tagore and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Collection Of Short Stories, She Gives Us A Glimpse Of Some Of The Women In Rabindranath Tagore'S Writing. Through These Stories We Also Come To Know The Social Conditions In Which Women Were Placed, Almost Always The Victims, And More Interestingly, Responding Differently Yet With The Same Dignity, How Each Handled The Pressure Associated With It. The Treatment Of Women And Their Position In Society Was A Serious Concern To Rabindranath Tagore. Being A Sensitive Man And The Supreme Romantic Poet Of Bengal, He Understood Women In All Their Joy And Sorrow, Hope And Despair, Their Yearnings And Their Dreams. The Violence, Both Psychological And Physical, Against Women In Bengali Society Was All-Pervasive, Cutting Across Class, Caste, Rural And Urban Divide. Its Functioning Was Sometimes Blatant But Often Subtle, Insidious And Invisible. What Was Worse Was That The Society As A Whole, Even The Women, Seemed To Have Got Used To This Slow Poisoning Without Realizing The Effect It Cumulatively Had On It. There Was Very Little Protest And The Poison Gradually Had Settled In The 'Body-Society'. Tagore Saw In The Women Of His Country An Immense Wealth - Their Courage Against All Odds, Their Power Of Survival Under The Worst Possible Conditions And Oppression, Their Forbearance, Their Self-Sacrifice And Gentleness. It Pained Him To See Such Colossal Waste Of So Much Human Treasure.
