Book R ussir sa cr ation d entreprise sans business plan

Download or read book R ussir sa cr ation d entreprise sans business plan written by Louis Jacques Filion and published by Editions Eyrolles. This book was released on 2012-11-08 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Advanced French Grammar

Download or read book Advanced French Grammar written by Monique L'Huillier and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1999-06-17 with total page 722 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This 1999 reference grammar, written for advanced students of French, their teachers, and others who want a better understanding of the French language, combines the best of modern and traditional approaches. Its objective is not only practical mastery of the language, but familiarity with its structure. Taking into account modern linguistic research, Advanced French Grammar approaches the French language primarily through the study of syntactic structures, but without excessive emphasis on formalism. It provides a generous number of examples, based on the author's own experience of teaching French to English-speakers, to help the student to understand the different meanings of apparently similar syntactic alternatives. The norms of 'correct expression' are given together with current usage and deviations, and appendixes provide information on the 1990 spelling reforms and on numbers. A substantial index of French and English words and of topics provides easy access to the text itself.

Book Wal Mart

Download or read book Wal Mart written by Sandra Stringer Vance and published by Macmillan Reference USA. This book was released on 1994 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The story of Wal-Mart Stores is the stuff of legends: in 1945 a poor boy from a poor state opens a variety store in a small town in rural Arkansas and, through hard work, ingenuity, and a commitment to providing customers with low-priced, high-quality merchandise, goes on to create the largest retail operation in the United States. In just 30 years Sam Walton and his Wal-Mart Stores transformed mass merchandising and revolutionized the shopping habits and expectations of American consumers. Moreover, Walton himself - a modest, simple man devoted to family, community, and his employees and customers - so inspired the American people that he was awarded the Medal of Freedom. Upon his death in 1992 Walton left his family a fortune estimated at $23.5 billion; that same year Wal-Mart Stores attained net sales of $43.9 billion and had 1,720 Wal-Mart units operating in 39 states." "This fascinating history of a man and his enterprise is adroitly chronicled by Sandra S. Vance and Roy V. Scott in Wal-Mart, the first scholarly study of Wal-Mart Stores and Sam Walton's remarkable career. Organizing their material chronologically, the authors trace Walton's evolving entrepreneurial style and mounting achievements, consistently linking the character of the man to the innovations he produced - starting with a tiny Ben Franklin variety store in 1945 and progressing to Walton's 5 & 10, Walton's Family Centers, and finally Wal-Mart Stores in the ensuing decades. Readers gain a wealth of insights into the history of American retailing and reach a solid understanding of the elements contributing to Wal-Mart's success: the steadfast dedication to customer service, the sophisticated mechanisms for keeping overhead low, the company policies designed to engender loyalty from employees and customers alike. Given particular emphasis are the factors that led to Wal-Mart's 1990-91 victory over its chief rivals, K mart and Sears, in becoming the nation's leading retailer; also highlighted is the issue of Wal-Mart's impact on the communities it serves and the small businesses therein." "Wal-Mart will hold the interest of students and scholars, of retailing executives and general readers, from first page to last."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. • Pages : 208 pages

Download or read book The Jacobites written by Frank McLynn and published by . This book was released on 2020-05-14 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'A very clear account of this famous episode in history.' The Sunday Times The Jacobite uprising - a period of turmoil following the removal of James II, in favour of his daughter, Mary II and her husband William III. The following century would witness political plots, military conflict, acts of espionage and religious scheming to secure the throne of the United Kingdom for both James and his son, 'Bonnie Prince Charlie'. The Jacobite cause drew in allies and enemies, domestic and foreign. James, while exiled in both France and Italy, endures a life of boredom, repeated illness and loneliness as Charles breaks off contact. Funding, both Papal and French, is used up as efforts to return to rule culminate in defeat at Culloden. Frank McLynn has thoroughly researched this incredible period of history moving forward into the Hanoverian dynasty with careful assessment of all that Jacobitism stood for. Frank McLynn is a British author, biographer, historian and journalist. He is noted for critically acclaimed biographies of Napoleon Bonaparte, Robert Louis Stevenson, Carl Jung, Richard Francis Burton and Henry Morton Stanley. He is also the author of Fitzroy Maclean and Bipolar, a novel about Roald Amundsen, published by Sharpe Books. Praise for Frank McLynn: 'Frank McLynn's achievement ... is to give Charles Edward a solidarity and three-dimensional reality that he usually lacks ... His account of the risings themselves is exemplary and he offers the best case yet for the nearness to success of the '45. What is usually seen as the last shiver of an anachronistic and romantic throwback emerges as a genuine alternative to Whiggery and the Act of Settlement.' Brian Morton, TES 'A broad canvas, dealing not only with sober historical truth but with the magic spell that either seduced or repelled Fielding, Sterne, Smollett, Burns, Scott, Borrow, Buchan, Stevenson and a hundred Irish poets...' Diarmaid O'Muirithe, Irish Independent 'A readable and fresh study ... thoroughly researched.' Esmond Wright, Contemporary Review 'Valuable in covering the wide sweep of Scotland, England, Ireland and the Continent, and bringing together many diverse strands into a coherent whole. Its wide range and taut approach make it very useful.' Rennie McOwan, The Tablet 'Packed with fascinating detail.' Denis Hills, choosing his book of the year in the Spectator 'Fitzroy Maclean has found his Boswell in Frank McLynn.' Trevor Royle, Scotland on Sunday 'Most entertaining.' Richard West 'Important, timely and balanced.' Soldier

Book Speech to Speech Translation

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides the readers with retrospective and prospective views with detailed explanations of component technologies, speech recognition, language translation and speech synthesis. Speech-to-speech translation system (S2S) enables to break language barriers, i.e., communicate each other between any pair of person on the glove, which is one of extreme dreams of humankind. People, society, and economy connected by S2S will demonstrate explosive growth without exception. In 1986, Japan initiated basic research of S2S, then the idea spread world-wide and were explored deeply by researchers during three decades. Now, we see S2S application on smartphone/tablet around the world. Computational resources such as processors, memories, wireless communication accelerate this computation-intensive systems and accumulation of digital data of speech and language encourage recent approaches based on machine learning. Through field experiments after long research in laboratories, S2S systems are being well-developed and now ready to utilized in daily life. Unique chapter of this book is end-2-end evaluation by comparing system’s performance and human competence. The effectiveness of the system would be understood by the score of this evaluation. The book will end with one of the next focus of S2S will be technology of simultaneous interpretation for lecture, broadcast news and so on.

Book Borrower Ownership of Adjustment Programs and the Political Economy of Reform

Download or read book Borrower Ownership of Adjustment Programs and the Political Economy of Reform written by John H. Johnson and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 1993-01-01 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: China has done much to reform its price system, achieve macroeconomic stability, and restore growth. Nevertheless, price distortions remain in three key areas. This study suggests further price reforms for the energy, grain, and transport sectors. It explains why energy price adjustments should have only a modest effect on consumer prices, but a highly positive effect on the economy. It discusses why China may have to reduce consumer subsidies to achieve the necessary reforms for grain prices. The study describes what the government must do to strengthen commodity markets, generate competition, and make allowances for seasonal price variations. China's transport sector has been a critical development bottleneck. The paper reviews tariff adjustments and other reforms that would modernize the transport system and help it meet growing demand. These reforms also would encourage energy conservation and help integrate the national economy.

Book Population and the World Bank

Download or read book Population and the World Bank written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study examines the Bank's activities in the population sector by reviewing its role in eight countries. It begins by asking what demographic and related socio-economic changes have occurred since about 1968 when the Bank announced it would begin lending for this sector, what government policies affecting these trends were instituted and what role was played by the Bank vis a vis other donors during this period? The conclusions reached are based on field visits, interviews and a review of documents and literature. The picture that emerges is one of considerable diversity of activities and experiences, from which it is not easy to generalize. However, the overall conclusion is that, after slow, halting and sometimes faulty starts, the Bank has become progressively more effective in this field. From this point forward, most of what is needed involves reorientations and shifts in emphasis rather than radical departures from recent practices and levels of funding.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than two decades, there has been growing concern over the environmental implications of development. There is evidence that the mismanagement of renewable resources has been widespread as populations have increased and countries have tried to cope with the imperative need to promote economic growth. This report analyzes the results of 355 agriculture and forestry projects in the tropics which have been completed. Further, it examines the findings in the case studies of 12 countries. These countries represent the three principal tropical ecologic zones. Specifically the report consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 reviews the findings of PPARs, PCRs and IERs on resource management issues. Chapters 2 through 4 summarize the main findings of the 12 case studies of countries. Chapter 5 examines the Bank's role in identifying and dealing with policy issues affecting resource management. Chapter 6 discusses the opportunities and constraints that exist if the Bank is to address resource management issues more effectively.

Book Trade Policy Reforms Under Adjustment Programs

Download or read book Trade Policy Reforms Under Adjustment Programs written by World Bank. Operations Evaluation Department and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 1992 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This review of the Bank's experience in support of trade policy reform in a selected group of countries is the first study by the World Bank's Operations Evaluation Department to concentrate exclusively on the Bank's operations and related issues in adjustment lending for trade policy reform. The impetus for the study was twofold: the increasing importance trade policy had acquired in the Bank's structural and sectoral adjustment lending over the years, and the view that the Bank had enough experience in this policy area to provide useful lessons for future lending. While the benefits of trade policy adjustment are gaining wider recognition, several concerns persist regarding the policy design and impact of those programs in the adjusting countries. The study addresses these issues in the context of individual country experience with trade reforms in the 1980s. Detailed case studies were prepared for these countries taking into account the initial conditions prevailing in the country, the design and implementation of the programs, their impact, and their sustainability. The study assesses whether trade policy reforms were complemented by other measures, including macroeconomic, industrial, and financial policies, and whether the Bank considered these links in designing trade policy programs. The main goal is to draw lessons from the cross-section of past experience for suggesting improvements in the Bank's approach to productivity-enhancing adjustment programs.
