Judging from the long lives of some of the Buffalo players, I must admit that such is the case. Here is my old friend L. L. Hodges, with whom I played many a game forty years ago and since, and now at the age of eighty nine he plays a few hours nearly every afternoon. Mr. Hodges commenced playing at the age of ten years, and at fifteen was probably the best player in this country, and for many years was not excelled by any player in the United States, and I have no doubt he is now the strongest player of his age.
