Book Essential Implant Therapy

Download or read book Essential Implant Therapy written by Nkem Obiechina and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011 with total page 83 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Implants have truly transformed dentistry by giving people safe, stable, and esthetic replacements of natural teeth. Since the first implant was placed in 1965, they have continued to increase in overall efficacy and popularity, where currently a large majority people in the United States know what they are, and how they function. Currently there is very little information for patients who are interested in receiving dental implants. Since most of the books on dental implants are designed for dentists rather than patients. Information that is available on line is also geared towards dentists also. The information that is available for non dentists typically is often in the form of brochures comprised of very general information and line drawings which are often simplistic and do not adequately familiarize them about dental implants. As implantologists, by far the most common questions that I have been asked by patients that are thinking of receiving dental implants is what they feel like when placed, how they will work, and their overall safety and effectiveness. In order to try to answer these questions we put together some information on dental implants so that people are made familiar with the implant components, how they are placed and how they will function in the mouth. We also sought to provide information regarding the rationale behind the implant selection process, and surgical aspects of implant placement as well as provide a history and also recent advances that are associated with implant dentistry. Since dental implants are comprised of two components, the root component that is placed surgically, and the restorative component that represents the crown of a tooth. In order to present information on both aspects of implant therapy, information on both aspects of therapy are provided in order to familiarize patients with information on not only dental implant surgery, but also on implant restorations. Line drawings and case studies including before and after pictures of both surgical and restorative procedures are included in order to provide information for patients about the dental implant procedure. The goal of this book is to provide vital information about dental implants in such a way that will aid patients in deciding whether or not to have dental implants.

Book An Update of Dental Implantology and Biomaterial

Download or read book An Update of Dental Implantology and Biomaterial written by Mazen Ahmad Almasri and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2019-01-30 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of An Update in Dental Implantology and Biomaterial is to continue the challenge of reconstruction and implantology into another volume with unique updates. As a surgeon who is usually asked to accomplish the reconstructive skeleton of the rehabilitation plan, questions like "Doc, I am in a hurry, how fast can you finish the treatment?" are becoming very common in practice these days. This phenomenon goes hand in hand with people's current lifestyles. Another challenge is the inapplicable prosthetic plan due to the difficulty at the patient side or the surgical intervention side. The advancement in reconstruction is appreciated, but apparently it has not reached the limit of placing the factors of cost, time, and invasiveness into one location. I believe that cases should be treated and rehabilitated as soon as possible, with reasonable cost and feasible technicality, so that clients can focus on their daily lives. With this book I am honored to present a homogeneous gathering of literature on implantology, elaborated with up-to-date techniques of grafting, the improvement of anterior aesthetics, and answers to questions concerning postoperative implant complications and microbiota care.

Healthcare is not a cookbook. There is no exact "recipe" for treatment because everyone's individual circumstances are unique. Your health is too important to allow someone, who doesn't grasp this concept, to care for you. So, if you take anything away from reading this book, it is an understanding that this is all about you, your health, your ability to enjoy good food, and the confidence to smile as widely as you did as a child. Yes, there's a commitment of time, money and a certain level of discomfort associated with the surgical procedure. But well-performed dental implant surgery can literally be life changing. And that alone is why it is worth your effort to find the best oral surgeon for the job. After completing your research by reading this book, it's time to research the oral surgeons in your area, ask questions, get second opinions, and choose the doctor with whom you feel comfortable and in whom you can place your confidence. Before selecting your oral surgeon, Dr. Hardison presents nine critical questions that you should always ask your doctor before moving forward with dental implant surgery. The author also provides the answers you need to hear and understand so that you choose the best surgeon for your implant surgery. Please keep in mind that the person you select will have a significant impact on your oral health and smile for the next few decades. Dr. Hardison also includes one critical detail that he discusses in this book at length which virtually every website and consumer book seems to neglect regarding this surgery. This is an important fact that is essential to the success of your dental implant surgery. Please do not agree to any procedure until you've read and understood this important issue. By authoring this book, Dr. Mark Hardison is honored with the opportunity to demonstrate his knowledge and expertise as a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. But his primary objective is to ensure that every person considering dental implants has a full and proper understanding of what is involved, and how the success of the procedure can be ensured.
