This book was released on 1993 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: CE TRAVAIL PRESENTE UNE ETUDE THEORIQUE DU TRANSPORT ELECTRONIQUE EN CHAMP FORT DANS LES MATERIAUX TROIS-CINQ, A L'AIDE D'UN MODELE ORIGINAL DE LA STRUCTURE DE BANDE. LE MODELE DES VALLEES ETENDUES REND COMPTE DE LA STRUCTURE DE BANDE REELLE AVEC SUFFISAMMENT DE PRECISION, TOUT EN NE NECESSITANT PAS UN IMPORTANT VOLUME DE CALCUL. DANS LE PREMIER CHAPITRE APRES AVOIR RAPPELE LES ASPECTS THEORIQUES FONDAMENTAUX DU TRANSPORT ELECTRONIQUE, NOUS PRESENTONS LES PRINCIPAUX MODELES DE STRUCTURE DE BANDE. PUIS NOUS RAPPELONS SOMMAIREMENT LES PRINCIPAUX MECANISMES D'INTERACTIONS DANS LE MATERIAU MASSIF. L'IONISATION PAR CHOC, PHENOMENE IMPORTANT EN CHAMP FORT, EST PARTICULIEREMENT DECRITE. LE DEUXIEME CHAPITRE EST CONSACRE AU DEVELOPPEMENT DU MODELE DES VALLEES ETENDUES. LE MODELE PREND AUSSI BIEN EN COMPTE LA PREMIERE BANDE DE CONDUCTION QUE LA SECONDE BANDE. IL DECRIT CORRECTEMENT LA STRUCTURE DE BANDE DANS LES DIRECTIONS PRINCIPALES ET AU VOISINAGE DES PRINCIPAUX MINIMA ET MAXIMA D'ENERGIE. LA DENSITE D'ETATS QUI EN DECOULE PERMET D'EN DEDUIRE DES PROBABILITES D'INTERACTION REALISTES SUR TOUTE LA GAMME D'ENERGIE. LE MODELE DES VALLEES ETENDUES EST ENSUITE MIS EN UVRE DANS LA METHODE MONTE-CARLO AFIN DE PROCEDER A LA SIMULATION DU TRANSPORT ELECTRONIQUE. LE TROISIEME CHAPITRE ETUDIE LE TRANSPORT DANS LES MATERIAUX GAAS ET INP, CE QUI PERMET DE PRESENTER DES GRANDEURS IMPORTANTES COMME L'ENERGIE MOYENNE, LA VITESSE DE DERIVE STATIONNAIRE, LE LIBRE PARCOURS MOYEN, ET LE COEFFICIENT D'IONISATION PAR CHOC. L'IONISATION PAR CHOC EST DETAILLEE, ET LE ROLE DE LA DEUXIEME BANDE CONDUCTION DANS CE PHENOMENE EST VERIFIE

Book MODELISATION DU TRANSPORT ELECTRONIQUE DANS LES COMPOSANTS HYPERFREQUENCES SUBMICRONIQUES APPLICATION A L ANALYSE DES RESULTATS DE MESURES DE COURANTS INDUITS PAR FAISCEAU ELECTRONIQUE DANS LES DIODES HYPERFREQUENCES

Download or read book MODELISATION DU TRANSPORT ELECTRONIQUE DANS LES COMPOSANTS HYPERFREQUENCES SUBMICRONIQUES APPLICATION A L ANALYSE DES RESULTATS DE MESURES DE COURANTS INDUITS PAR FAISCEAU ELECTRONIQUE DANS LES DIODES HYPERFREQUENCES written by LALEH.. PEYMAYECHE and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CETTE THESE ABORDE DIFFERENTS ASPECTS DE LA MODELISATION NUMERIQUE DES SEMICONDUCTEURS. DANS UN PREMIER TEMPS, UNE ETUDE DU MODELE DE TRANSPORT D'ENERGIE EST EFFECTUEE EN UTILISANT LES ELEMENTS FINIS NODAUX. CE MODELE EST DERIVE DU MODELE HYDRODYNAMIQUE DE TRANSPORT. IL EST FONDE SUR LE CALCUL DES MOMENTS D'ORDRE 0 A 2 DE L'EQUATION DE BOLTZMANN, SOUS CERTAINES HYPOTHESES SIMPLIFICATRICES. CES EQUATIONS REPRESENTENT LA CONSERVATION DE CHARGES, DE LA QUANTITE DE MOUVEMENT ET DE L'ENERGIE DES PORTEURS. NOTRE MODELE UTILISE DE NOUVELLES VARIABLES QUASI-ENTROPIQUES PAR ANALOGIE AVEC LES MODELES DE FLUIDES. CES VARIABLES PERMETTENT DE SYMETRISER LE SYSTEME D'EQUATIONS DIFFERENTIELLES FORME PAR LES MOMENTS D'ORDRE 1 ET 2 DE L'EQUATION DE BOLTZMANN. CE MODELE EST VALIDE SUR LES COMPOSANTS A EFFET DE CHAMP, AVEC OU SANS HETEROJONCTIONS, SUR SUBSTRAT GAAS ET DE LONGUEUR DE GRILLE SUBMICRONIQUE. DANS UN DEUXIEME TEMPS, NOUS AVONS MODELISE UN SYSTEME EXPERIMENTAL, LE SCANNING TRANSMISSION ELECTRON BEAM INDUCED CURRENT (STEBIC), A L'AIDE D'UN MODELE DE TRANSPORT DE TYPE DERIVE-DIFFUSION. LE PRINCIPE DU STEBIC REPOSE SUR LA MESURE DU COURANT INDUIT PAR UN FAISCEAU ELECTRONIQUE DANS UNE SECTION TRANSVERSE D'UNE DIODE (PAR EXEMPLE) TRANSPARENTE AUX ELECTRONS. CETTE METHODE DE MICROSCOPIE PAR TRANSMISSION PERMET DE LOCALISER LA POSITION DE LA JONCTION P/N DE LA DIODE AVEC UNE RESOLUTION DE 13 NM QUI EST DE L'ORDRE DE GRANDEUR DU DIAMETRE DU FAISCEAU ELECTRONIQUE. LA MODELISATION A PERMIS VALIDER LES MODELES DE PARAMETRES PHYSIQUES TELS QUE LA MOBILITE DES PORTEURS, LES TAUX DE RECOMBINAISON ET DE GENERATION DE PAIRES ELECTRONS-TROUS. LA MODELISATION EST VALIDEE PAR LA SIMULATION DE DIODES IMPATT.

This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Nanophysics Coherence and Transport

Download or read book Nanophysics Coherence and Transport written by and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2005-08-02 with total page 641 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The developments of nanofabrication in the past years have enabled the design of electronic systems that exhibit spectacular signatures of quantum coherence. Nanofabricated quantum wires and dots containing a small number of electrons are ideal experimental playgrounds for probing electron-electron interactions and their interplay with disorder. Going down to even smaller scales, molecules such as carbon nanotubes, fullerenes or hydrogen molecules can now be inserted in nanocircuits. Measurements of transport through a single chain of atoms have been performed as well. Much progress has also been made in the design and fabrication of superconducting and hybrid nanostructures, be they normal/superconductor or ferromagnetic/superconductor. Quantum coherence is then no longer that of individual electronic states, but rather that of a superconducting wavefunction of a macroscopic number of Cooper pairs condensed in the same quantum mechanical state. Beyond the study of linear response regime, the physics of non-equilibrium transport (including non-linear transport, rectification of a high frequency electric field as well as shot noise) has received much attention, with significant experimental and theoretical insights. All these quantities exhibit very specific signatures of the quantum nature of transport, which cannot be obtained from basic conductance measurements. Basic concepts and analytical tools needed to understand this new physics are presented in a series of theoretical fundamental courses, in parallel with more phenomenological ones where physics is discussed in a less formal way and illustrated by many experiments.· Electron-electron interactions in one-dimensional quantum transport· Coulomb Blockade and Kondo physics in quantum dots· Out of equilibrium noise and quantum transport· Andreev reflection and subgap nonlinear transport in hybrid N/S nanosructures.· Transport through atomic contacts · Solid state Q-bits · Written by leading experts in the field, both theorists and experimentalists

Download or read book Ocean Bills of Lading written by A. Athanassios N. Yiannopoulos and published by Martinus Nijhoff Publishers. This book was released on 1995-01-01 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main thrust of this volume is the use of electronic bills of lading in lieu of the traditional documents. The advantages of electronic bills of lading are many, including lower cost, higher efficiency, improved security, and speedier delivery of goods at the end of the voyage (the collection of reports focus upon bills of lading for the international carriage of goods by sea). According to the contributors, the use of electronic bills of lading is, essentially, a business rather than a legal decision. The law may provide the legal framework for the function of electronic bills of lading in the same way and with the same effects as the traditional bills of lading. However, business interests will eventually determine whether the availability of, and the economic incentives for, the use of the electronic bills of lading outweigh concerns for privacy and the safeguarding of trade secrets, for accuracy of information, and for security transactions and acquisition. Such concerns call for technological rather than legal solutions. This book ahould appeal primarily to practitioners who are interested in economics and commerce.

Book Electron Transport in Quantum Dots

Download or read book Electron Transport in Quantum Dots written by Jonathan P. Bird and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-27 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When I was contacted by Kluwer Academic Publishers in the Fall of 200 I, inviting me to edit a volume of papers on the issue of electron transport in quantum dots, I was excited by what I saw as an ideal opportunity to provide an overview of a field of research that has made significant contributions in recent years, both to our understanding of fundamental physics, and to the development of novel nanoelectronic technologies. The need for such a volume seemed to be made more pressing by the fact that few comprehensive reviews of this topic have appeared in the literature, in spite of the vast activity in this area over the course of the last decade or so. With this motivation, I set out to try to compile a volume that would fairly reflect the wide range of opinions that has emerged in the study of electron transport in quantum dots. Indeed, there has been no effort on my part to ensure any consistency between the different chapters, since I would prefer that this volume instead serve as a useful forum for the debate of critical issues in this still developing field. In this matter, I have been assisted greatly by the excellent series of articles provided by the different authors, who are widely recognized as some of the leaders in this vital area of research.

Book The Geography of Transport Systems

Download or read book The Geography of Transport Systems written by Jean-Paul Rodrigue and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-07-18 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mobility is fundamental to economic and social activities such as commuting, manufacturing, or supplying energy. Each movement has an origin, a potential set of intermediate locations, a destination, and a nature which is linked with geographical attributes. Transport systems composed of infrastructures, modes and terminals are so embedded in the socio-economic life of individuals, institutions and corporations that they are often invisible to the consumer. This is paradoxical as the perceived invisibility of transportation is derived from its efficiency. Understanding how mobility is linked with geography is main the purpose of this book. The third edition of The Geography of Transport Systems has been revised and updated to provide an overview of the spatial aspects of transportation. This text provides greater discussion of security, energy, green logistics, as well as new and updated case studies, a revised content structure, and new figures. Each chapter covers a specific conceptual dimension including networks, modes, terminals, freight transportation, urban transportation and environmental impacts. A final chapter contains core methodologies linked with transport geography such as accessibility, spatial interactions, graph theory and Geographic Information Systems for transportation (GIS-T). This book provides a comprehensive and accessible introduction to the field, with a broad overview of its concepts, methods, and areas of application. The accompanying website for this text contains a useful additional material, including digital maps, PowerPoint slides, databases, and links to further reading and websites. The website can be accessed at: http://people.hofstra.edu/geotrans This text is an essential resource for undergraduates studying transport geography, as well as those interest in economic and urban geography, transport planning and engineering.
