L'activité de ce service a été comparée au service traditionnel d'hospitalisation des urgences médicales de Nice ou "service porte". Le "point chaud" présente donc des patients qui sont significativement plus graves que ceux hospitalisés au "service porte" et qui induisent une charge de travail infirmier significativement plus élevée.
